THE PLOT The Saga of the Lost Kingdom is about a dumb guy called Yin Dan, played by Kwok Chun On. Yin Dan is the descendant of China's first great emporor, who unified China and formed the Chi'n Dyansty. However since the Han Dynasty was established the relatives of the great emporor have been forced to live in a secret island called Mo Kay. Yin Dan is the due to be the next leader of Mo Kay and was ready to choose his future wife. No one at Mo Kay wanted to marry Yin Dan because he was dumb. Yin Dan eventually choose to marry a local girl played by Kung Chi Yan. She refused to marry Yin Dan and looked down upon him. She hated Yin Dan for choosing her as his future wife and vowed to get even. Later a young girl, Kwok Cheung Tau, played by Tsang Wah Sin arrives at Mo Kay by chance. When the elders from Mo Kay found out about Kwok Cheung Tau, they were not pleased having discovered that someone from the outside was now amongst them. Yin Dan saved Kwok Cheung Tau from being punished by the locals and set her free. After setting Kwok Cheung Tau free Yin Dan got lost as the map back to Ma Kay written on his hand was washed off during the rain. Yin Dan then got a job as a waiter, before being accepted as a student by a wise but crippled man called But King Mo, played by Liu Kai Chi. Legends about Mo Kay possesing a great treasure spread across China. The leader of all the kung fu schools take a group to investigate Mo Kay but mysteriously disappear. Eddie Cheung Siu Fai plays the son of the kung fu leader. Without his old man Eddie Cheung tries his best to fill in as the leader of all the kung fu schools. However his kung fu is average and no one respects him. One night a masked man offers to teach Eddie Cheung some superior Mor kung fu. Eddie Cheung refused at first but decides to learn the kung fu to remain the leader of all the kung fu schools. After achieving his goal and defeatiing those who oppose him, Eddie sets out to gather a group of men to rescue his dad from Mo Kay. No one wanted to follow Eddie Cheung unless he could deal with the Butterfly Cult who was causing plenty of trouble. Meanwhile But King Mo and Yin Dan were tricked into helping some mountain robbers and injured some innocent men who were later murdered. Hugo Ng Die Yung played the son of those men who were murdered. Having discovered that But King Mo was invovled, Hugo Ng vowed to get even. With no where left to go Hugo Ng, decided to work for Eddie Cheung. After the misunderstanding Yin Dan became seperated with But King Mo and decided to search for Kwok Cheung Tau. He succeeded but Kwok Cheung Tau's master was an evil man. He used wicked and evil tricks to punish her for not obeying his orders. He posioned Yin Dan, who was saved by Kwok Cheung Tau. Eventually Kwok Chueng Tau faked her own death so that Yin Dan would stop looking for her. She Yin Dan would then run into a Princess, played by Ho Mei Ting, who ran away from home to escape from an arranged marriage. Her farther was an evil man who had harboured ambitions of becomming Emporor. Together they located two old kung fu experts and became thier students. Under his new master Yin Dan's kung fu began to improve but he was still as dumb as ever. Eddie Cheung then convinced the two old masters along with Yin Dan to help them fight against the Butterfly Cult. The leader of the Butterfly Cult was played by Chow Hoi Mei. She was a young kung fu leader who possessed top kung fu. In the Butterfly Cult the leader was not allowed to fall in love otherwise they would loose thier inner power and die before the age of 25. But Chow Hoi Mei had always wandered what love was. She wrote a note inside a bottle, revealing her true feelings hoping that a stranger would pick it up and feel the same way about her. She placed it in the river, and it drifted away. By the hand of fate Yin Dan intercepted the bottle and read the note. He liked the bottle and decided to keep it by his side. During a fight with the Butterfly Cult, Yin Dan, fought with Chow Hoi Mei. During the fight the bottle became fell out. Chow Hoi Mei was in the process of killing Yin Dan when she saw the bottle. She decided to pull back and knocked Yin Dan out, instead of killing him. He would be captured as a prisoner along with Hugo Ng. Chow Hoi Mei spoke with Yin Dan before freeing everyone she had captured. She had fallen in love with Yin Dan because he had picked up the bottle and seemed like an honourable man. After freeing the men, Chow Hoi Mei, went to look for Yin Dan but she pretended to be someone else. She gained the trust of Yin Dan and the others, and stayed by Yin Dan's side. At the same time she discovered why everyone was against her Butterfly Cult. She would then change the way the Butterfly Cult behaved so they would be accepted into the kung fu world, much to the elder's disgust. Later Yin Dan discovered that Chow Hoi Mei was the leader of the Butterfly Cult and he became disgusted. He felt that Chow Hoi Mei had taken advantage of him being dumb to play tricks on him. Slowly Chow Hoi Mei lost her inner power and became ill because she had fallen in love. Chow Hoi Mei's illness was incurable and she was due to die. Yin Dan then went to look for Kwok Cheng Tau. Meanhwile Law Wai Kin had arrived in town dressed as a man. She was the sister of the owner of the prostitute palour. She became friends with Yin Dan upon meeting him, and helped to cure Kwok Cheng Tau of her posion. This did not please Kwok Cheng Tau's master however. He took revenge by posioning Yin Dan. In order to cure Yin Dan of the posion a virgin must sleep with him. Kwok Cheng Tau was prepared to sleep with Yin Dan, but when she arrived it was already too late. Chow Hoi Mei had already cured Yin Dan. In doing so Chow Hoi Mei became cured of her illness, but her inner power was not restored. Once Yin Dan discovered what Chow Hoi Mei had done to cure him, he went looking for her. He would become trapped by a sandpit. Some leaches sucked blood from his brain and he passed out. Upon recovering he became smarter. Apparently those leaches were rare and had the ability to make people smarter.
