CAST
BACKGROUND The Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain is loosely based on Jin Yong's novel. TVB did not obtain copyright to one of Jin Yong's novel "The Young Flying Fox" . They obtained the copyright to "The Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain" only. Therefore some of the characters of the original story have been eliminated, had thier names altered, or merged with other characters. The plot has taken many new twists and turns as well. All these changes promted the author Jin Yong, to announce that he did not like the new series in public. Felix Wong and Maggie Siu lead off the cast as Wu Yat Do and Long Kim Chow in a guest performance. Chan Kam Hung as Wu Fei, and Sheh Si Mun as Miu Yuk Lan are the lead actors. Eddie Cheung plays Tin Gwai Lo in a supporting role. This story is set during the Ching Dynasty under the rule of Emporor Kin Lung. During this period the major rebel group was the Red Flower Soceity led by Chan Ka Lok. The story is based around the events that occured when the Manchus from the north defeated the Ming Dnasty and gained control of China establishing the Ching Dynasty. Ming Emporor Chong was trapped with four brave knights,Tin, Fan, Miu and Wu in the mountain.
