Meanwhile Magistrate Wong steals the workers wages, forces them to work hard, and kills those who disobey his orders. Cheung Sam Long arrives to deal with the corrupt official and sends his good friend Taoist Sin, to trick Magistrate Wong. Cheung Sam Long then captures Magistrate Wong forcing him to give the workers the wages that they had earnt. Cheung Sam Long then forced Magistrate Wong to promise not to take the workers wages again. After the ordeal Magistrate Wong wanted to get even with Cheung Sam Long, and decided to seek the help of kung fu expert Po San. Once Magistrate Wong had saved Po San's life and now Magistrate Wong wanted Po San to return the favour. Po San promised to help but on the condition that Magistrate Wong would never request his help again. Po San then challenged Cheung Sam Long to a duel which he accepted. Many days later the men meet and fought with each other one on one. Po San's kung fu was excellent and he forced Cheung Sam Long to extend his blade handle to give him better protection. Finally Po San thrusted a strike at Cheung Sam Long's throat. His strike was blocked by a piece of jade that Cheung Sam Long wore on his neck. At once Po San realized that Cheung Sam Long had once saved his life also. Po San informed Cheung Sam Long that he would not help Magistrate Wong anymore before leaving.

Meanwhile heir to the throne, Yeung Yung, wanders through town and spots messengers from Tak Kuet, causing trouble. Another noble young man, Lee Ching, is wandering through the streets also. Yeung Yung decided to teach the Tak Keut messengers a lesson and tricks them into gambling with him. Yeung Yung pretended to be useless at throwing chop sticks into a vase at first to give the messenger some confidence. Lee Ching stepped in to oversea the contest as judge. Having won the messenger became greedy and wanted to win all of Yeung Yung's money. Yeung Yung promised to participate in another contest only if the Tak Keut messenger would invite the entire town to lunch. The Tak Keut messenger accepted the condition, and this time Yeung Yung used all of his skills and won. Yeung Yung was happy with being able to teach the messenger a lesson. Yeung Yung also noticed that the young gentleman who befriended him was not General Hon as he so stated. Having been uncovered the young man revealed himself as Lee Jing, the nephew of General Hon. At once the two became friends. Upon returning to the palace Yeung Yung discovers that he must personally visit Tak Keut to represent the Siu Dynasty at a "Horse Racing Forum". His younger brother Yeung Guo was the one who suggested that Yeung Yung must visit Tak Keut. Infact Yeung Guo harbored ambitions of becoming the Emperor himself and he wanted to assassinate Yeung Yung at Tak Keut. Realizing that it was his duty to go, Yeung Yung, sought the help of Lee Jing to travel as his personal guard on the journey.

Lee Jing suggested that he needed more intelligent and harden warriors to travel with them. Lee Jing then sought the help of local investigator Chun Keng and his strong but dumb friend Ching Ngow Gum. Meanwhile Chun Jong Ming, the son of the Emperor of the vanquished Chun Dynasty seeks Cheung Sam Long's help to restore the Chun Dynasty on the condition that Cheung Sam Long was the son of General Cheung of the Chun Dynasty. Cheung Sam Long refused stating that China is at peace and that everyone was happy under the current government. Chun Jong Ming then took matters into his own hands and followed Yeung Yung to Tak Keut is one of his four personal guards. Having discovered that Chun Jong Ming had traveled with Yeung Yung, Cheung Sam Long, feared the worst and traveled to Tak Keut as well. Others who traveled to Tak Keut included Yeung Lan Ling, head of the investigator branch and Yeung Guo. Whilst Yeung Lan Ling sought to protect her brother, Yeung Guo sought to kill him. Yeung Guo sent men to tamper with Yeung Yung's horses and also attempted to assassinate him with a dart. Both attempts failed, because of Cheung Sam Long. Meanwhile Chun Jong Ming had attempted to assassinate the Emperor of Tak Keut and failed. The Emperor of Tak Keut had already harbored a distinct hatred of Yeung Yung, and the assassination attempt deepened the misunderstanding. At once he ordered the capture of Yeung Yung and held him as hostage because. On the other hand Yeung Yung had accused the Tak Keut Emperor of trying to assassinate him. Lee Ching and Cheung Sam Long then collaborated to find evidence to free Yeung Yung.

Meanwhile Lau Hung, the Tak Keut Emperor’s most loyal subject discovered that it was Yeung Yung's own brother Yeung Guo, who wanted to assassinate Yeung Yung. Having been uncovered Yeung Guo the offered Lau Hung a job as his loyal subject. Lau Hung rejected at first but could not resist the fame and fortune with which Yeung Guo promised him. Lau Hung then left evidence behind which made him the guilty party to the crimes and left for China with Yeung Guo. Lee Ching and Cheung Sam Long found Lau Hung's knife and presented it as evidence to the Tak Keut Emperor. Yeung Yung was then realized. The Tak Keut Emperor then blamed Lau Hung for attempting to start a war with the two nations. Although Cheung Sam Long had done much to help Yeung Yung, Yeung Lan Ling suspected that Cheung Sam Long and his friend Chun Jong Ming were up to no good. Upon returning to China, Yeung Lan Ling, continued to investigate their activities. Cheung Sam Long went to visit Chun Wai Leung, the princess of the former Chun Dynasty who has now become one of Yeung Sin's wives. Yeung Sin is the Siu Emperor, and since their marriage has treated Chun Wai Leung well. Thus Chun Wai Leung had never harbored ambitions of restoring the Chun Empire. Cheung Sam Long informs Chun Wai Leung that her brother Chun Jong Ming is still set on causing trouble. Chun Wai Leung then thanked Cheung Sam Long for taking care of her younger brother and insisted that he help talk Chun Jong Ming out of try to restore the Chun Empire. Cheung Sam Long agreed to help.

Whilst travelling through town one day Cheung Sam Long runs into Ching Ngow Gum, who was attempting to get locked up by Chun Keng. Ching Ngow Gum wanted to go to prison so he could eat a decent meal. Upon hearing of Ching Ngow Gum's trouble's Cheung Sam Long made a move to hand him some money. Suddenly a young girl, Lee Seung Yee, arrived and snatched the money from Ching Ngow Gum's hands accusing him of theft. This misunderstanding led Chun Keng with no choice but to lock Ching Ngow Gum in prison. Lee Seung Yee then returned the money to Cheung Sam Long who pretended not to know kung fu. Cheung Sam Long then invited Lee Seung Yee to lunch and discovered that she had a tragic background and was forced to sleep on the streets. Cheung Sam Long then sought to help Lee Seung Yee by inviting her back to his house as a bodyguard. Soon Chun Jong Ming returned to seek Cheung Sam Long's help, but once again Cheung Sam Long refused. Chun Jong Ming then captured a blacksmith to force Cheung Sam Long to help him. Cheung Sam Long agreed to meet with Chun Jong Ming in the evening. Chun Jong Ming's actions attracted the attention of Yeung Lan Ling, who went to rescue the blacksmith herself. Cheung Sam Long was then forced to intervene and rescue Chun Jong Ming from Yeung Lan Ling's clutches. Eventually Chun Jong Ming was captured by Yeung Lan Ling. Upon being captured Chun Jong Ming informed Yeung Lan Ling that Cheung Sam Long was the son of the General Cheung of the Chun Dynasty in return for his freedom. At once Yeung Lan Ling thought that Cheung Sam Long wanted to commit treason and went to capture him personally.

At first Yeung Lan Ling visited Cheung Sam Long to inform him that she had captured Chun Jong Ming. Cheung Sam Long then agreed to meet with Yeung Lan Ling days later to discuss the release of Chun Jong Ming. Yeung Lan Ling prepared traps in an attempt to capture Cheung Sam Long but failed as she was caught in the traps herself. Cheung Sam Long then battled with Yeung Lan Ling until help arrived to free them from the traps. Having failed, Yeung Lan Ling allowed Cheung Sam Long to leave and made a move to hand back the knife that she managed to obtain during the battle. Cheung Sam Long declined to take the knife stating that he had never allowed anyone to take anything from him during battle. Cheung Sam Long managed to take possession of a peace of jade from Yeung Lan Ling and made an attempt to return it but Yeung Lan Ling declined also. Upon returning home Cheung Sam Long remembered the battle and took out the piece of jade. He thought about Yeung Lan Ling and began to grow to like her. Soon he received news that his workers had stopped work due to safety reasons. He rushed over to see what was going on, and realized that something was wrong. Cheung Sam Long then personally approached the cave to find out the nature of the problem. As he entered Yeung Lan Ling's group set off an explosion and Cheung Sam Long fell into some traps but managed to survive. Soon Lee Seung Yee went into the cave to help Cheung Sam Long. Yeung Lan Ling was jealous of Lee Seung Yee and thought that she was Cheung Sam Long's lover. At once Yeung Lan Ling ran into the cave and fought with Lee Seung Yee. As they fought the cave collapsed, and the rocks began to fall from above.

Fearing for Lee Seung Yee's safety, Cheung Sam Long, protected her with his body much to Yeung Lan Ling's disgust. Soon Mo Ming Do Yan and the others arrived to free them. Having failed again, Yeung Lan Ling, was summoned to the palace to see Emperor Yeung Sin. The Queen became worried about Yeung Lan Ling and requested her to remain at the palace for a little longer. Later Lee Ying informed the Emperor that many of the villagers were starving and requested him to send food supplies to the region. Emperor Yeung Sin refused, which angered Yeung Yung, who decided to personally visit the region. Yeung Guo knew that Yeung Yung could not resist handling the supplies over to the common people without the King's orders so he decided to send Lau Hung to make certain. Lee Jing accompanied Yeung Yung to the village. At the village, Cheung Chut Chun, was passing through when she heard that the locals were starving. She decided to intervene and attempted to steal the food supplies in the evening and succeeded. Yeung Yung arrived in the morning, and decided to hand out the food supplies after Lau Hung in disguise as a commoner attempted to kill his own baby. Lee Jing jumped in to save the baby which pleased Cheung Chut Chun who was amongst the crowd. Lee Jing knew that by handing out the food supplies without the Emperor's orders was treason. Soon Lee Ching suspected foul play and uncovered that Lau Hung was the one who had dressed up as a commoner to force Yeung Yung to hand out the food supplies but he managed to escape.

Upon returning to the palace Emperor Yeung Sin was outraged and ordered to have Yeung Yung executed. Yeung Lan Ling then stepped in to request Yeung Sin to spare Yeung Yung. Soon Lee Ying also requested the Emperor to have mercy and finally Yeung Guo also stepped in. Yeung Guo did not want anyone to suspect that he was behind the plot. Finally Emperor Yeung Sin decided to spare Yeung Yung but decided to lock him in the dungeon which made Yeung Guo extremely happy. Later Yeung Lan Ling and Emperor Yeung Sin went to visit Chun Mei Leung. Chun Jong Ming arrived to see her sister and request her help in assassinating Yeung Sin but she refused. Chun Jong Ming then took it upon himself to assassinate Yeung Sin but failed. He suffered an injury and sought Cheung Sam Long's help. Cheung Sam Long then informed Taoist Sin to send Chun Jong Ming elsewhere as he realized that Yeung Lan Ling arrive to search the house. Soon enough Yeung Lan Ling did arrive and battle with Cheung Sam Long who refused to have his house searched. As they battled Mong Ming Do Yan and the others searched the house but did not manage to find Chun Jong Ming. Yeung Lan Ling was then forced to leave and continue her search elsewhere. Many days later Lee Ying and others agreed to convince Emperor Yeung Sin to free Yeung Yung. This upset Yeung Guo who sought to deal with Yeung Yung, by eliminating Lee Jing by accusing him of treason. Emperor Yeung Sin then ordered the capture of Lee Jing for handing out the food supplies without his orders. At once Yeung Yung wanted to help Lee Jing but Lee Ying convinced him otherwise.

Lee Jing was saved by Chun Keng, who went to inform Yeung Yung of Lee Jing's location. General Yee Mun managed to find Lee Jing first however and he was forced to seek shelter at Lord Yeung Sau's house. Lord Yeung Sau agreed to protect Lee Jing in order to gain Yeung Yung's favour. When Yeung Guo was informed of the situation by General Yee Mun he was less then impressed with Lord Yeung Sau. Lee Ying, Chun Keng and Yeung Yung then help Lee Jing escape from the capital city. Yeung Yung thanked Lord Yeung Sau for helping Lee Jing but declined to form political allies with him. Lord Yeung Sau was less then impressed with Yeung Yung after that event. On the other hand Yeung Guo wanted to eliminate Yeung Yung and plotted his next move. Meanwhile Emperor Yeung Sin was eager to capture the man whom had attempted to assassinate him. Yeung Lan Ling returned to cause trouble for Cheung Sam Long and wrecked his house in the process. Cheung Sam Long became outraged when Yeung Lan Ling made a move to destroy the family ancestor altar. Cheung Sam Long then slapped Yeung Lan Ling and ordered her to leave. Yeung Lan Ling soon realized that she was being too aggressive and decided to try another tactic. She wanted Cheung Sam Long to one day work for the Siu Dynasty and attempted to befriend him. She apologized the next day and decided to invite Cheung Sam Long to lunch but he refused. Meanwhile Emperor Yeung Sin stumbled across a song sang by commoners which supposedly foretold the future. The song stated that one day someone named "Lee", would gain the throne by defeating the "Yeung" family. At once Yeung Sin ordered to have all government officials named "Lee", executed. This included his cousin Lee Ying. At once the Queen came out and became outraged. Lee Ying was then spared but was force to leave the capital with his family.

Yeung Guo then took this opportunity to assassinate them along their journey. Lau Hung led the attack but the Lee family was saved by Chun Keng, Ching Ngow Gum and his mountain robber friends. Lau Hung recognized Chun Keng and vowed to get even. Chun Keng was then accused of treason and was forced to hide amongst Ching Ngow Gum's band of mountain robbers as well. Meanwhile Yeung Lan Ling continued to make peace with Cheung Sam Long. One day Cheung Sam Long and Lee Seung Yee ran into Yeung Lan Ling to shelter from the rain. Instead of acting like a spoilt princess, Yeung Lan Ling treated Lee Seung Yee very well. At once Cheung Sam Long knew that Yeung Lan Ling was up to no good but soon he began to think that Yeung Lan Ling had changed her ways until she captured Bak Mao Dan to force Chun Jong Ming out of hiding. At once Chun Jong Ming attempted to save his girlfriend and fell into Yeung Lan Ling's trap. Luckily for Chun Jong Ming, Lee Mun, happened to pass through. At once Lee Mun intervened and saved Chun Jong Ming. Lee Mun was willing to protect Chun Jong Ming because he disliked the current Emperor Yeung Sin. Later Yeung Lan Ling arrived to capture Chun Jong Ming but Lee Mun refused to step aside. They battled and Lee Mun defeated Yeung Lan Ling and both of her investigators. Furious at being defeated Yeung Lan Ling set Lee Mun's house on fire hopping to force Chun Jong Ming out of hiding. Lee Mun and Chun Jong Ming managed to escape through a secret passage however. When Cheung Sam Long discovered that Yeung Lan Ling had burnt down Lee Mun's house in pursuit of Chun Jong Ming he was furious. But Yeung Lan Ling managed to talk her way out of the situation and even tricked Cheung Sam Long into carrying her home by faking an injury.

Meanwhile Yeung Guo sought to eliminate Lord Yeung Sau. At the same time Cheung Chut Chun arrived to avenge her parents death. She tricks Lord Yeung Sau's son into taking her Lord Yeung's residence. Upon arrival Lord Yeung Sau had fallen in love with her and accepted her as a musician and singer. Cheung Chut Chun knew that Lord Yeung Sau really wanted to make her one of his mistress. She later came up with the idea of convincing Lord Yeung Sau's wife into accepting her as a foster daughter. Meanwhile Cheung Sam Long and Yeung Lan Ling continued to meet. Once Cheung Sam Long promised to spend a day with Lee Seung Yee but could not resist visiting Yeung Lan Ling once more. Lee Seung Yee became distressed but realized that Cheung Sam Long loved Yeung Lan Ling only and decided not to interfere in their relationship. Later Yeung Lan Ling found news that Lee Jing had managed to escape and was heading to meet up with Lee Ying. At once Yeung Lan Ling went to visit her older brother Yeung Yung of the news. Whilst there she attempted to persuade Yeung Yung into returning to the palace to patch things up with his wife. Yeung Yung refused stating that he and his wife would only argue once more. The following day Yeung Lan Ling sent a letter to Cheung Sam Long which was intercepted by Yeung Guo. At once Yeung Guo set out to deal with Cheung Sam Long because he had once refused to work for him. Cheung Sam Long was waiting for the arrival of Yeung Lan Ling and was not ready for the ambush by Lau Hung. Cheung Sam Long was forced over the edge of the mountain and hanging by the cliff when Yeung Lan Ling finally arrived to rescue him. At once Lau Hung took off not wanting to be recognized.

At once Yeung Lan Ling approached Yeung Guo for an explanation. Yeung Guo admitted to ambushing Cheung Sam Long but pretended to be concerned more about the safety of Yeung Lan Ling. She had no answer for Yeung Guo and realized that he was right. From that day onwards Yeung Lan Ling refused to see Cheung Sam Long, but later on she realized she could not resist to meet with him. Meanwhile Lee Jing visits Lee Ying and request him to accept his services. Lee Ying was concerned about accepting Lee Jing who was a wanted man so his two sons Lee Wai Gat, and Lee King Sing forced him to leave. Lee Jing was bitterly disappointed by the Lee family until he met Lee Sai Mun as he was leaving. Lee Sai Mun convinced Lee Jing to remain behind. Meanwhile Cheung Chut Chun set out to deal with Lau Hung by tampering with the horses that Yeung Sau had placed him in charge of. Unfortunately for Cheung Chut Chun, Lau Hung, uncovered her past and revealed it to Yeung Sau. Lau Hung took a blow to the chest and was allowed to continue working for Yeung Sau. Meanwhile Yeung Lan Ling thought it was the right time to present Cheung Sam Long with his insignia as a General of the Siu Dynasty. She had him eating out of her palms and thought that her plan had succeeded. Little did she know that when Cheung Sam Long saw the insignia he became outraged and immediately left. Cheung Sam Long could not believe that Yeung Lan Ling had taken advantage of the his love for her and had used him. Realizing that he had been fooled all along Cheung Sam Long, Taoist Sin, and Lee Seung Yee left to start up a new business out west.

Unfortunately Lau Hung had followed them and created some trouble. Cheung Sam Long, Taoist Sin and Lee Seung Yee were all captured and awaited execution by fire. On the day of the execution Yeung Lan Ling and her men arrived to save Cheung Sam Long and his friends. Upon being rescued Cheung Sam Long was still bitter towards Yeung Lan Ling. Since it was Lau Hung who had created the trouble, Cheung Sam Long thought that Yeung Lan Ling had tried to use one of her tricks again and stormed off. After failing to eliminate Cheung Sam Long, Yeung Guo, focused his attention on Yeung Yung once more. One night one of Lord Yeung's sons had an argument over a prostitute with Yeung Yung, and was killed by Yeung Guo's men. Yeung Yung would be blamed for the murder however and his reputation would tarnished because it was over a prostitute. Upon hearing of the trouble Lee Jing immediately left Lee Sai Mun's company and returned to persuade Yeung Sau. After talking to Yeung Sau, Lee Jing left to await his response. Cheung Chut Chun knew that Yeung Sau would not be persuaded so she attempted to talk Lee Jing into leaving but he refused. With Lau Hung advising Yeung Sau, Lee Jing was ordered to be captured for later execution. Later in the evening Cheung Sam Long, invaded Lord Yeung Sau's residence and killed Lau Hung. At once Yeung Sau thought that it was Lee Jing's doing and sent his son to personally capture Lee Jing. At the same time Cheung Chut Chun stole an insignia and two horses. She visited Lee Jing and made preparations to escape from the residence.

As they attempted to escape the exit was blocked by Yeung Yin Gum, and his many soldiers. As they battled Cheung Chut Chun was injured by an arrow. Suddenly Cheung Sam Long arrived and battled with the men allowing Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun to escape. Cheung Sam Long remained around and helped them along the way to escape from Yeung Yin Gum. Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun also received help from Lee Sai Mun who lent them two fine horses along the journey. During the attempted escape Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun decided to get married. When the had finally escaped, Cheung Sam Long decided to visit Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun to congratulate them on their marriage. Cheung Sam Long, Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun then took an oath of brotherhood as they all managed to escape from Yeung Sau's clutches. When Cheung Sam Long heard that Lee Sai Mun also provided help to Lee Jing, he decided to pay him a visit. Unfortunately Cheung Sam Long, Lee Jing, and Cheung Chut Chun were turned away by Lau Mun Jing, Lee Sai Mun's adviser. At the same time Lee Sai Mun were visited by cousin Cheung Sin Mo Kei and his sister Cheung Sin Mo Kau. One day Lee Sai Mun and his friends visited Shaolin. Cheung Sam Long took this opportunity to see Lee Sai Mun, who did not know that they had been turned away. Lee Sai Mun immediately made Lau Mun Jing apologize and accepted Cheung Sam Long, Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun at his residence. Cheung Sam Long was impressed by Lee Sai Mun's ideology and his willingness to the common people and elected to stay. However Lee Sai Mun's youngest brother Lee Yin Ba was jealous of Cheung Sam Long because his cousin and childhood friend, Cheung Sin Mo Kau, started to fall for him.

Meanwhile many officials requested the Emperor to release Yeung Yung, because he had been locked up without clear evidence which convicted him for the murder of Yeung Sau's son, Yeung Yin Tin. Yeung Sin agreed to release Yeung Yung, and forced Yeung Sau to accept the decision. Yeung Sau was less then impressed by the Emperors decision. When he heard that Lee Jing was living at Lee Ying's residence he sought to deal with Lee Ying. Yeung Yin Gum approached Lee Ying and made many threats. Lee Sai Mun then took Lee Jing to see Yeung Yung to request his help. Yeung Yung, Lee Sai Mun, Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun then approached Yeung Sau who was forced to back down on capturing Lee Jing. Having achieved his objective, Lee Sai Mun, left to aid his farther whilst Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun and Cheung Sam Long remained. Upon returning to the palace Yeung Yung was informed that the Emperor had fallen ill but it was not yet fatal. Yeung Lan Ling and Yeung Guo also visited the Emperor. In the days that followed Yeung Guo deliberately misinformed Yeung Yung so that he would not visit the Emperor. Yeung Guo himself acted liked he really cared about his farther, and the Queen became extremely angry at Yeung Yung. One day Yeung Yung followed Yeung Lan Ling, and saw that she was drinking with Chun Wai Leung and Cheung Sam Long. Yeung Yung approached them which disturbed Cheung Sam Long because he thought that Yeung Yung might harm Chun Wai Leung because she was a former princess of the Chun Empire. Yeung Yung informed Cheung Sam Long that he was not that kind of person and knew that Chun Wai Leung would not harm the Emperor. Listen to Yeung Yung talk, Cheung Sam Long, knew that he would one day make a good Emperor.

Yeung Yung also wanted to consent to Yeung Lan Ling's relationship with Cheung Sam Long but they refuse to admit that they loved each other. Upon returning home Cheung Sam Long discovered that Cheung Sin Mo Kau had traveled from Lee Sai Mun's home to visit him. He was now forced to accept her. Meanwhile Yeung Guo set out to deal with Yeung Yung once more, but this time he had help from Yeung Sau who wanted to avenge the death of his son. Yeung Yung was first accused of having an affair with his wife's sister. This made the Queen extremely upset once more that she even suggested removing Yeung Yung as the heir to the throne and passing it over to Yeung Guo. Later in the evening Yeung Guo murdered Yeung Yung's wife's sister. At the same time he got Yeung Yung so drunk and place the dead body nearby. Naturally when Yeung Yung discovered the body, the Emperor happened to pass by with soldiers ready to capture him for the murder. Yeung Sau then mysteriously arrived to prevent the Emperor from locking Yeung Yung into the dungeon. Yeung Sau informed the Emperor that he received news that Tak Keut forces were about to attack the Siu Dynasty. Yeung Sau suggested that Yeung Yung should be sent to Tak Keut as a peace maker since he had developed a good relationship with the Prince of Tak Kuet. The Emperor agreed and gave Yeung Yung an opportunity to redeem himself. Unknown to the Emperor Yeung Sau and Yeung Guo had planted a trap to murder Yeung Yung. When Cheung Sam Long heard news that Yeung Yung was headed towards Tak Keut he became suspicious. At once Cheung Sam Long knew that it was a trap to kill Yeung Yung, and set out to rescue him.

As Cheung Sam Long feared Yeung Yung had fallen into a trap and had suffered an injury. Soon Cheung Sam Long and Yeung Lan Ling arrived to rescue Yeung Yung. Cheung Sam long remained behind to deal with the soldiers as Yeung Lan Ling took Yeung Yung to safety. But she could not resist the temptation to return to help Cheung Sam Long that she left Yeung Yung by himself. Yeung Yung was nearly murdered when left alone, but was lucky that Cheung Chut Chun and Lee Jing had arrived in time to lend him assistance. They retreated on an old barn where they were attacked once more. This time Cheung Chut Chun was placed in charge of protecting Yeung Yung, but she too could not resist the temptation to help Lee Jing and left Yeung Yung unguarded. Once again Yeung Yung was nearly murdered when left alone, until Lee Mun and Chun Jong Ming arrived to help them. Once safe Yeung Yung continued to Tak Keut to uncover the truth behind the assassination attempt. Lee Mun and Chun Jong Ming was left in charge of the army as Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun went to Tak Keut with Yeung Yung. Meanwhile Cheung Sam Long and Yeung Lan Ling became trapped in a cave. There they revealed their feelings for each other. Later they managed to escape and catch General Yee Lan leaving Tak Keut with a letter. From the letter Cheung Sam Long discovered that the Emperor of Tak Keut also wanted to assassinate Yeung Yung. He immediately went to warn Yeung Yung along with Yeung Lan Ling. Upon arriving at Yeung Yung's camp Cheung Sam Long informed Lee Mun of the news and they immediately set out to rescue Yeung Yung. Lee Mun even managed to convince Chun Jong Ming to go along as well despite his hatred for Yeung Yung.

Meanwhile Lee Jing, and Cheung Chut Chun fell for the Tak Keut Emperor's trap and left Yeung Yung unguarded. Yeung Yung was then ambushed as he went hunting with the Tak Keut Prince. Yeung Yung was forced over the edge of the cliff but was rescued by Cheung Sam Long, Lee Mun, Chun Jong Ming and Yeung Lan Ling. Meanwhile Lee Jing returned to the palace to inform the Emperor that Yeung Yung had been assassinated along with Yeung Lan Ling. Upon hearing this Yeung Guo became extremely happy, whilst the Queen and Emperor became upset. Many days later they prepared to place Yeung Yung's belongings in a burial. To the surprise of many Yeung Yung would later return with Cheung Sam Long, Lee Mun, Chun Jong Ming and Yeung Lan Ling. Cheung Sam Long then informed the Emperor that General Yee Lan had collaborated with the Tak Keut Emperor to assassinate Yeung Yung. Yeung Guo then immediately stepped in to take the total blame stating that he had wanted to protect the Siu Dynasty. Yeung Yung loved his brother and stepped in to beg for the Emperor's mercy along with Yeung Lan Ling. Cheung Sam Long stood back and marveled out how two intelligent people could be fool by such tactics. In the end the Emperor spared General Yee Lan's life and locked him in the dungeon. Yeung Guo escaped without becoming suspected. Cheung Sam Long knew that Yeung Guo was the mastermind behind the attempted assassination. Later Cheung Sam Long attempted to convince Yeung Lan Ling that Yeung Guo had planned to murder Yeung Yung to gain the throne himself. Yeung Lan Ling did not believe Cheung Sam Long however. Later Yeung Yung dropped by to thank Cheung Sam Long for saving his life. He was greeted by Chun Jong Ming who attempted to assassinate him. Lee Mun stepped in to save Yeung Yung. Chun Jong Ming then revealed to Yeung Yung that his real name was Chun Sok Ming the 5th Prince of the vanquished Chun Empire.

Upon hearing this Yeung Yung promised Chun Sok Ming that he would grant him land and make him a lord upon becoming Emperor. Chun Sok Ming was happy with this response and did not try to assassinate Yeung Yung after that event. Meanwhile Yeung Guo personally killed Yeung Yung's wife and made it look like a suicide. This upset the Queen who loved Yeung Yung’s wife very much. From that day onwards the Queen did not want to see Yeung Yung. Yeung Guo then found out about Yeung Yung's promise to Chun Sok Ming and together with Lord Yeung Sau captured Chun Sok Ming. When Cheung Sam Long had been captured he requested Yeung Lan Ling to help free Chun Sok Ming. Yeung Lan Ling refused to help because Chun Sok Ming had murdered her third brother whilst attempting to assassinate Yeung Sin. Cheung Sam Long then sought Chun Wai Leung's help to persuade the Emperor. In the end Chun Sok Ming committed suicide and Yeung Sin found out about Yeung Yung's promise to him. Yeung Sin was upset because Yeung Yung had granted Chun Sok Ming land and made him a lord before gaining the throne. Yeung Sin then ordered Yeung Yung to have the title of "heir to the throne" stripped from him despite Yeung Guo's honeycomb words, and the request of Yeung Lan Ling. Yeung Sin then made Yeung Guo the "heir to the throne", despite his own protests. Having succeeded Yeung Guo celebrated with his advisers. The Queen came across the celebration and realized that Yeung Guo had harbored ambitions of becoming an Emperor. Now that he had succeeded Yeung Guo informed the Queen that her suspicions were correct. Yeung Guo admitted to the murder of Yeung Yung's wife. This upset the Queen who became extremely ill.

When Yeung Yung heard the Queen was ill he visited Yeung Guo, and spoke with the Queen. Although she had an opportunity to inform Yeung Yung that Yeung Guo wanted to murder him, the Queen did not do so. When Yeung Yung left Yeung Guo personally murdered the Queen and put the blame on Yeung Yung. At once Yeung Sin ordered the capture of Yeung Yung and all of his allies such as Cheung Sam Long, Cheung Chut Chun, Lee Mun, and Lee Seung Yee. Yeung Lan Ling went to visit Yeung Yung and invited Cheung Sam Long along. Whilst he was away the others were attacked and Cheung Sam Long's house was destroyed. Cheung Sam Long attempted to persuade both Yeung Yung and Yeung Lan Ling that Yeung Guo was the mastermind behind all of the murders, but both did not believe him. When Cheung Sam Long returned to his home and found it destroyed he was outraged. He thought that Yeung Lan Ling had deliberately asked him to accompany Yeung Yung to see her which made an attack on his friends easier. Cheung Sam Long and the others were then forced into hiding until they could expose Yeung Guo to help Yeung Yung. Meanwhile Chun Wai Leung was allowed to enter the palace after the Queen's death. Yeung Guo had fallen inlove with Chun Wai Leung and attempted to rape her one evening. Chun Wai Leung managed to escape and informed the Emperor that Yeung Yung had attempted to rape her. At once Yeung Sin realized that Yeung Guo was evil and attempted to strip him of his title "heir to the throne", and pass it back to Yeung Yung. By this time Yeung Guo knew what Yeung Sin wanted to do and intercepted each of the letters.

Finally Taoist Sin was able to deliver a letter to Yeung Yung who returned to the palace. At the same time Cheung Sam Long, Lee Mun, Cheung Chut Chun, Lee Seung Yee, and Lee Ching attempted to save the Emperor from Yeung Guo's clutches. The Emperor also passed a royal message to Chun Wai Leung, so that his loyal subjects could deal with Yeung Guo in the future. General Yee Lan was ordered to surround the palace with his troops as Yeung Guo personally strangled Yeung Sin in the temple. Yeung Yung managed to enter the palace and when he entered the temple he found that someone had murdered Yeung Sin. Outside Cheung Sam Long was attempting to battle through to rescue Yeung Yung. Chun Wai Leung managed to escape as they battled. Yeung Yung then discovered that Yeung Sin had stripped the title "heir to the throne", and had passed it back to him. At this stage Yeung Guo entered and informed Yeung Yung that it was his plan all along to obtain the throne. Yeung Guo the admitted to killing the Emperor, the Queen, and his wife. Yeung Yung could not believe that his brother was capable of such evil things. As he made a move to get up Yeung Guo thrusted his sword at Yeung Yung, who manage to dodge the blow. The sword cut through the Emperor's heart and he woke up screaming before he died. It was only then that they realized that the Emperor had still been alive, but was now dead for certain.

Yeung Yung then grabbed the sword and made a move to kill Yeung Guo. Unfortunately Yeung Yung was too weak and could not bring himself to kill his own brother.
