BACKGROUND

"Beggar So", was produced in 1984 by TVB. The cast consisted of Chow Yun Fat as So Chan, and Miu Kiu Wai as Ma Kwan. The rest of the cast consisted of Lau Tak Wah, Mei Seut, and Chan Sau Chu. This story tells the tale of So Chan, a succesful business man and the kung fu master who developed the drunk stance. Later So Chan would give up everything that he had to live on the streets like a beggar, thus earning the nickname of "Beggar So". The story is based during the Japanese invasion of China. The current series is a Tawainese production and was filmed in mainland China. In this series Wong Yat Wah is to play the role of So Chan. Ruby Lam, plays So Chun's childhood sweetheart.
