The Bashing Page

Shippers have had to endure some characters that have been a
threat to our shipper happiness! There have been those who have
dared to get close to our dear Harm & Mac. The ones that have
come between our ideal couple. There has been Dalton Lowne (as in
'clown'), Neurotic Annie, a crazed stalker, a Russian Spy and
others. Shippers cheer when these characters disappear, and put up
with the new ones that appear. But we are a persistent group, it
doesn't matter who they throw our way, we hang on to our shipper
dreams. We have the hope that TPTB will realize what a pair Harm
& Mac make, and that at the end of the show Mr. Belisario will
give us the greatest of all shipper scenes!!!!
                                       Semper Harm & Mac!!!!!

The list of our infamous enemies

Our first headache-Neurotic Annie Pendry
We first met Annie Pendry when her husband, Harm's best friend, died in a crash.
We got the feeling even back then the Harm 'really liked' her. However it wasn't
until the next season that we realized how much they were attracted to each other.
She announced she was moving to Baltimore, and yes, another season later she came
came looking for Harm. Was it because she was interested in him? Not really. Neurotic
Annie came to Harm because her son got into trouble. Needless to say Harm was the
'knight in shining armor' that saved her son. Poor Harm was ‘infatuated' with her for a
few episodes, but we realized that Harm was not really interested in Annie, but
wanted to be a father to Josh. However as much as we disliked Annie, she did
have one redeeming quality. She was able to see through Harm’s real feelings. Who
can forget when she told Harm that he was secretly in love with Mac? Yes she may be
a bit neurotic, but smart! So smart that she dumped Harm, and finally the shippers
     were able to breathe again!

Who would ever want this guy around? One we wish had met his maker in Russia!

Three words desribe this spy: Lies, Lies, Lies. From the second this Russian agent showed up on the scene, the only words that came out of his mouth were of the fabricated variety. He first appeared in the 3rd season opener "Ghost Ship" in which he posed as a San Francisco police detective "Mark Falcon". He then stole a book which gave evidence of the location of American pilots shot down over Viet Nam. He flirted with Mac quite a bit, and Mac seemed to be attracted to him, too. Mac was about to go out on a date with him, when she found Harm injured. He reappeared in the 3rd season finale and 4th season opener, where he further plotted to conceal the truth. He again tried to charm Mac. Mac agreed to go on a date with him. Her reasons for going were to learn something, or, as she said so, that they "could tell each other lies". Sokol 'kind of' redeemed himself some when he attempted to help Harm and Mac in Russia .. only to put them in more danger and get himself shot. (Which he appears to have survived, unfortunately!). And even none ofthe words that came out of this KGB man's mouth could be taken at face value, even he noted a very deep caring between Harm and Mac...a caring that might go deeper than even he suspected...
Harm faces one that we really hated!

Dalton was definitely what one would describe as scum of the earth. A lying, conniving,
double crossing man, he swept Mac off her feet with his money and sweet nothings. Even-
though he was not hard on the eyes, his personality was hard to stomach! But he served a
purpose. He made Harm jealous. Thanks to him convincing Mac to leave JAG, shippers got
one of the best shipper scenes from season 3 as Harm & Mac said goodbye. Even then Mac
knew that there was no comparison, as she told Harm that Dalton’s Porsche was no Tomcat.
Dalton was also nice enough to solve our problem by stealing files from Mac, which in turn
made Mac see the light and dump him!! Dalton did not seem to understand that it was over
between him and Mac, he had to be dealt more harshly, so he was killed! Now they’ll tell
you that it was Detective Coster that killed him, but in shipper world we know that
underneath that mask was a shipper taking care of business. Read Dalton’s meeting with
Mr. Death in "Dalton's Final Hearing"

This aggressive Congresswoman worried us, but all she got was spaghetti!

One of the first things Bobbi Latham told to Harm was "Mac likes you". We knew right away she was a smart woman! However she also said that she liked him. We knew then that she would be trouble! Bobbie was aggressive and it was obvious she liked Harm. In season 4 she made her way to his apartment and shared spaghetti and wine with him. Did she go further than that? We are not sure. She also got Harm to explain why he and Mac are not involved, "We work together" he said. Bobbie tried to get Harm, but shipperness prevailed and Harm calledit off.
"The Prima Donna"
At first we thought Francesca's character would add an intereting twist. The Admiral's daughter who develops an interest in Harm. But she turned out to be an arrogant, self centered Prima Donna. No matter how much we try to like some of these characters, the truth is that Harm & Mac keep finding losers! From the minute we saw her, most of us disliked her. In her very first scene she runs into Harm's car, the refuses to exchange insurance information with him (this Italian rich girl does not know that's a crime in most states!) and then attempts to slip Harm a couple of liras to cover the damages! She is pushy and agressive. However, other than her physical attraction, Harm does not show interest in her. When he needs to choose between following Mac out of AJ's party, or staying to talk with Francesca, he follows his heart and the knight in shining armor goes after Mac to protect and rescues her.
A nice guy--we liked him, but...

From the moment we first saw John Farrow we knew he would be trouble. He seemed to care for Mac, and Mac also seemed to have feelings for him. Even Harm noticed and had the guts to ask Mac what exactly was Farrow to her. Mac answered "none of your business" Oh yes, there was something here! Season 4 came and we found out that he was Mac's former lover! Bad boy! He was guilty of fraternization and adultery and helped make Mac's life a mess by the time "People vs Mac" came along. It's hard to dislike this guy, but he seems to be history. In his final scene he told Harm to keep an eye on Mac!
Mic "Bug me"
This Australian Naval exchange officer came making a first good impression. He seemed fun and easy going, however one episode later, most shippers realized that Harm was right when he called him a "self-serving, arrogant, bastard". Coming on to Mac from the minute he came to JAG, one episode later he was backstabbing Harm, not following the Admiral's orders to work as a team with Harm and accusing Mac of murder, adultery and fraternization! His tactics left a lot to be desired. Shippers loved it when Mac slapped him. And also when he stood face to face with Harm and Harm announced that someday they would take their conversation somewhere else. Shippers starting betting on when Brumby would get punched by Harm. He is not stupid though. He did point out that the guys at JAG are a 'little in love with Mac' and did sense that there is 'something' between Harm & Mac. Harm denied it, smart man that he is. Why tell Bugme, Gumby, we mean Brumby anything? Yet another loser for Mac?
A real Evil one!
This guy is as bad they come. Detective Coster first appeared in the 3rd season episode "The King of the Fleas". He was attracted to Mac...a VERY dangerous attraction! He then followed and spied on Mac, bugging her apartment and car, listening and stalking her every move. He obviously did a very skillful job of concealing his sick obsession, for it wasn't until the aptly named 3rd season episode "The stalker" that his obsession finally came to light...and turned deadly. Coster followed and murdered Dalton Lowne, whom Mac had recently broken up with (shippers were happy to see Dalton go.. but we did not want him murdered!), ransacked Mac's apartment, and then kidnapped her. Luckily, through the efforts of one pilot-turned-lawyer Navy Lieutenant Commander, Coster was foiled and earned himself a one-way ticket to the criminal looney bin! And though shippers won't shed any tears over this psychopath, even he noticed something between Mac and Harm...something more than just friendship.

Another Evil one
Chris the 'husband' follows in the long line of losers that have tried for Mac's affection. When he came into the picture, it surprised everyone, including Harm. This ex-con was Mac's husband? Shippers still can't understand how Mac could possibly forget to divorce such a scumbag! This ex-con tried to win Mac over again, but thankfully Mac found the error of her ways. In the process of getting rid of him, she killed him as they fought over a gun. Who was the first person she called after being arrested? Harm of course! This man cost Mac a lot, but Harm stood by her in court and managed to save some of her career. Take a look at what happened at Chris' funeral! "Chris' Funeral"

The Jury is still out on this one....

Jordan Parker
Jordan Parker is still quite new. Most Shippers have not formed an opinion of her, yet. She is pretty and sweet, but not very smart as she showed us in "Jaggle Bells". However, she did get Harm to open up to her. Rumors have it that Harm wil fall in love with her. So ... that's reason enough to dislike her, right? Well to the shippers it is! Some shippers beleive that this is a doomed relationship. She is not really a Navy person like Harm. She is there for the money, and some say that she is too 'girly.' Now the question is just how much do we like her or dislike her? Here's the chance to find out! Vote on our shipper poll and let us know how you feel about Jordan Parker.

Parker Poll

So of all of those that have dared to come between Harm & Mac who do you dislike the most? Can't stand Annie? Chris made you sick? Just hate Brumby? Well, shippers, let's vote and pick our most disliked nemesis!

The Firing Line

Two guys we love, but prefer they stay away from Mac!

Ok, so nobody is perfect. We love the Admiral and Webb. These two are two of our favorite characters. However there was that time when AJ almost kissed Mac, ("The Stalker") and that time when Webb gave Mac quite an interesting look.. (Embassy)AND he knew her measurements?! Ok, guys, we love you, but you have to stay away from Mac! Get your own girls, ok?
