How did it all start
"We the People" is the episode that started it all. It was the
beginning for Harm & Mac and of course for Harm & Mac Shippers!
From the moment that Mac and Harm met, it was obvious something
special had happened.
When Harmon Rabb, Jr. was introduced to his new partner, Major
Sarah 'Mac' MacKenzie, he knew immediately there was something
unique... Mac was, after all, practically a twin of his murdered
girlfriend, Diane Schonke.
In their first scene together we can see Harm's shock as he meets
Mac. His response to the Admiral's "You two know each other?"
was a weak 'yes'. Of course he had made a mistake, but it didn't
really matter, in no time at all, Mac & Harm became friends.
In that first episode we see the beginning of a great relationship.
Mac opens up to him about her alcoholism. Harm helps Mac's
uncle, Col. O'Hara, and a bond is formed between them.
"In a Rose Garden" That's where Mac tells her uncle that she
found 'this sailor'. It is a sentence that you will often find in
Shipper fan fic, for it is a beautiful symbol of the Harm & Mac's
relationship for us.
"We the people" shows us the basis of the trust they would share,
the shipper 'looks', the funny remarks, and the fun loving
relationship these two would develop in seasons to come.
When Harm asked Mac for "Permission to come aboard" at the end of
the episode, Mac answered "Persmission granted" and so it
began...the best JAG team, the hottest couple on TV and the great
relationship of Harm & Mac.
Harm & Mac's Matchmaker?"
Several shippers and most Webbies will quickly point out that it
was Clayton Webb who brought Harm & Mac together. It was, after
all, his plan to have Mac assigned to the investigation in "We the
People" because of her relationship with Col. O'Hara. So even
though his intentions were.. well... devious... the outcome was
Harm and Mac's partnership!! So thank you, Webb!
'We the People' was also the first episode that Clayton Webb appeared in.
