Tribal Instincts

Episode Nine

An hour later Bray came sheepishly into the room. 'Er, sorry but we're having a meeting. Can you come?'
Enna opened her eyes and breathed a secret sigh of relief before turning to Tai- san and saying how 'refreshed' she felt.
Tai-san and Enna were the last people to come into the dining room, everyone else was already assembled. Trudi beckoned Enna to a place beside her. Heading for the seat Enna caught sight of Ebony and the back. She decided ignorance is bliss and sat quietly next to Trudi, pretending not to notice her.
Bray started to speak: 'Thanks for coming everyone but I think our problem is one which involves the whole tribe. Tai-san wants to release the formula.'
Shocked murmurings broke out from the tribe. Danni was the one to voice their opinion. 'Tai-san, how can you be so stupid? Don't you realize that if we lose the antidote then we lose any power we have,' Danni sounded exasperated. 'Power to do good. If everyone has the formula then we're back to square one; every man for themselves with no interest in peace. We can't let that happen, not again.'
Some of the others shouted approval.
'Wait guys,' said Bray trying to calm them down. 'Let Tai-san have her say.'
Tai-san stood up, calm, collected and unflustered. 'There is no way we can justify keeping the antidote to ourselves while people outside reach are dying.' There was silence - she had a point. 'I propose that we should teach travellers, people who could spread the knowledge far.'
There was another outcry from the tribe mainly saying 'What if they start selling it abusing their power.' Many suggestions came up and were rejected for being to impractical (Bray), unfair (Danni) or unethical (Tai-san). It was all getting too much. 'Quiet everyone,' ordered Bray.
'If you could just…' said Enna nervously. She looked at Salene for support and was given an encouraging nod. 'Why not set up labs, here, and produce large quantities of the antidote. Then we could distribute it.'
'Yeah, nice idea in theory ,' said Jack skeptically, 'But what if they abuse their power and start selling it to the highest bidder.'
'Then we'd just have to send along people every now and then to make surprise visits and to check they weren't abusing the power,' Enna offered.
'Yeah,' said Ryan, 'Like an undercover agent.'
'Exactly,' smiled Enna.
'What do you think Tai-san? Could you make the formula in that quantity?' Bray asked.
'Yes, with some help it shouldn't be too difficult.'
'And it would promote better relations between the tribes,' Danni put in.

The idea was discussed and agreed on, as a compromise for Tai-san for the mean time. Enna sat back and let them work out the details. This was just right, Tai-san was gonna need help producing that much antidote and Enna knew that, as soon as she had convinced Tai-san of her expertise with essential oils, that she would be just the one to give that help. It wouldn't be long before she had the formula! Then the world would be her oyster; no more scavenging for food and water, she could have whatever she wanted and most of all she wanted power. But she mustn't get carried away, there was a good few weeks or even months hard work left, but she knew she'd do it!
Her mind wandered as the others talked. She still wasn't sure what to do with Lex. She knew she could manipulate him but she wasn't sure how. After all, how much did he know? How much had he guessed? How much should she tell him? Maybe she'd go and see him again tonight, after all it was fun.

Episode Ten

The first free moment she had Enna sat down and thought of a plan of action. If she wanted to become one of the Mallrats she was gonna have to make friends or at least get to know everyone. So she left the comfort of her room on the balcony and went down the steps to see who was around. Fairly soon she spotted two girls in one of the old shops sitting around a low table playing a game. 'Hi!' The girls looked up.
'You must be Patsy and Chloe, 'Enna smiled, 'But I'm not sure which is which.'
Patsy smiled back, 'She's Chloe and…'
'She's Patsy,' said Chloe taking over.
Enna stood there looking a little awkward.
'Er.. would you like to play?' invited Patsy.
'I'd love to - what's the game?'
'Snakes and ladders,' put in Chloe. 'And I always win.'
'Do not!' shouted Patsy indignantly.
'Do too!'
Enna laughed and came to site down on the sofa. It was a good game. Patsy and Chloe were easy to talk with and gave her valuable, honest information about the other members of the tribe.
They all laughed as Patsy slid down one of the longest snakes right back to the beginning of the board. Just then Jack walked into the room. 'Any of you girls seen…' he stopped noticing Enna was there. This was the first time he'd ever seen her properly and he was captivated by her dark hair with streaks of blue and her pale clear skin from which two bright green eyes stared at him. 'I er… um…' Jack trailed off not remembering what he was going to say.
'Jack, this is Enna,' introduced Chloe, 'Enna, this is Jack.'
Patsy nudged at Enna's arm 'You know, the one we told you about; the one who wants to go out with Ellie.'
Enna smiled and the girls giggled. Jack turned bright red, clashing with his hair. 'Well, it seems you know all about me already.'
'No, no Jack. Only their opinion of you. Come and sit down. Fancy a game? I think Chloe's just about won this one, don't you think Patsy?'
Jack forgot his search for Ellie and sat down with the girls for a game.
'So tell me about Ellie' Enna prompted.
Jack was embarrassed and muttered something inaudible.
'He wants to kiss her,' put in Chloe.
'Really?' said Enna raising her eyebrows in a teasing way. She leant forward to Chloe, 'And what does she think about all this?'
The girls giggled, poor Jack - it was going from bad to worse. Chloe was about to open her mouth when Jack butted in to stop her. 'Yes, thank you Chloe. If you could shut up now?'
An angry girl with long blonde hair appeared in the door way and called to Jack. 'Jack? Are you there? Where have you been? We arranged to meet half an hour ago!'
'Oh no! I'm so sorry Ellie. I completely forgot,' cringed Jack.
'I can see that. Snakes and ladders is it?'
Enna stood up to her full height, a good few inches taller than Ellie or Jack and several years older. 'I don't know Jack..' she teased shaking her head. She turned to Ellie 'Hi, I'm Enna, I've been hearing a lot about you.'
Ellie was a bit taken aback and not sure what to say.
'Well anyway, I'd better get on,' said Enna heading the door. 'Nice to meet you girls, Jack,' she said without turning around. Ellie watched Jack's eyes following her to the door.

Enna walked out of the room and breathed a sigh of relief. She'd spent the morning playing stupid games with infantile kids and to make it worse she'd just butted in on Jack and Ellie's long awaited relationship. She could see Jack fancied her and she could see that Ellie was jealous. Unfortunately he was the sensitive, caring kind who she despised but anyway, he was far too young for her. Finally she escaped to her room leaving Patsy and Chloe to agree on how nice she seemed. Jack would have joined in but he noticed Ellie giving him dirty looks; she was jealous and he hadn't even done anything! Well at least it's a sign she likes me, thought Jack, but deep down he already knew that.
Enna looked around to check no one was looking before quickly ducking down the corridor to Lex's room. She opened the door and slipped inside, shutting it gently behind her.
Lex was sitting on his bed, 'I thought you'd be back.' He gave his little half smile. Then he got up of the bed and moved towards her.
'Look Lex we need to talk.
Lex continued to move closer. He kissed her once on the lips and she kissed him before remembering herself and pushing him away. 'I said we need to talk.'
Lex laughed, 'Alright. Talk.' He gestured with his hand.
Enna could see he was put out. She moved closer to hin and put her arms round his waist. 'I just wanna make sure we're clear,' said Enna a little patronizingly. Lex looked at her suspiciously. 'If you tell any of your friends in the Mallrats what you saw, they'll get suspicious and they'll...' Enna put on her innocent act, 'Who knows, they might even throw me out and...', she kissed him lightly on the lips, 'that would be a shame now wouldn't it.'
Lex smiled deviously. "Now this is the kind of blackmail I like.'
Enna played wistfully with one of his dreadlocks. Suddenly she twisted it round her hand and pulled it tight, bringing his face close to her. Lex winced. Enna's voice went deadly serious. 'So do we have an agreement?'
Lex leant forward loosening the strain on his hair. He whispered in her ear. 'You can count on me.'

Episode Eleven

Enna met more of the tribe when she had convinced them that she was getting over her 'fear' of men. She helped wash up with Ryan one day and soon found he was susceptible to her compliments so she spent an exhausting half hour working through a pile of someone else's dirty plates and telling Ryan how Salene thought so much of him and talked about him all the time. She helped Salene look after the girls and taught them songs and games that she'd used to play with her little sister Leanne. But they were they were different to Leanne. She had been so bright, so sparky and really devious, she was Enna's little protégé. She put in quality time looking after Brady for Trudi. This she really hated, she didn't like babies or children at the best of times and she couldn't even let the brat cry too long coz someone was bound to hear and come running. So sat and read some of the few books lying round the mall. That was the other thing she missed her library at back at the warehouse. Enna loved reading it was a real escape for her and it had taught her a lot from characters in plays like the Crucible to politics and ideas for a perfect society and psychology. Perhaps she could persuade the others to go on a trip to the library!
Jack was easy. He was thrilled when he found out she was a chemist, or at least had studied it to a pretty high level before the virus hit. He would of liked to chat to her but he could never think of anything to say and besides, Ellie was always lurking around and usually interrupted them after five minutes. She meditated with Tai-san daily. At first Enna dreaded these sessions, they always made her look deeper within herself than she cared to go; she'd come too far to have pangs of guilt now.
Luckily Ebony wasn't around much and when she was, Enna usually found refuge from her with Patsy and Chloe who she rarely went near. She avoided Bray too. Something about his deep, soulful eyes made her fear that he would be able to see into hers too and find out what see was really up too. As Enna met more and more of the tribe, her days became busier and busier and she was glad that in her sleep she could have time off to visit her old life and her old self in the dream world.

In the meantime Lex had been waiting for her and she'd never come. In the end he risked a visit to her room. When he got there to his disappointment Trudi was with her discussing ideas for a new skirt. Trudi looked up and to her surprise she saw Lex in the doorway.
'Lex is it?' said Enna innocently. 'Can I help you?'
'I'm er… looking for Trudi, Bray wants you.' That was all he could think of but the bait worked.
'OK,' she got up. 'I'll be back in a minute.' Enna caught her hand and looked up at her imploring her to stay.' 'It's OK Enna, he doesn't bite.' Enna knew better.
As soon as she was out of sight Lex stepped into the room. 'So where have you been?'
'I've been busy alright?' said Enna aggressively.
Lex moved over to her and sat on the bed. 'Look,' he said. 'Blackmail's all very well, but I'm not getting paid.'
Enna looked at him in disgust. This was not the way she wanted to play it; she called the shots, she was in control. He leaned forward and kissed her, catching her by surprise and she pushed him away.
'Don't you dare…' suddenly her tone changed; 'I can't do it Lex, I won't.' She bent down on the bed and started to cry. Lex was confused then suddenly he realized what had happened. He turned around slowly and to his horror he was right; There, standing in the doorway stood Salene, a look of fury on her face. 'How dare you Lex,' she said coldly.
Lex opened his mouth to speak.
'Just get out! Out!'
Lex rose and slowly headed for the door. Enna was devious, he'd give her that.

Episode Twelve

Salene moved over to the bed to comfort the sobbing Enna. 'I'm so sorry.' She put an arm around Enna, 'What happened?'
'He just, he just…' cried Enna unable to get the words out through her tears.
'It's OK Enna, calm down, you're safe now.'
'He said he'd tell if I didn't… I didn't…' Fresh tears welled up into her eyes and sobbing broke into her throat.
'If you didn't what Enna? What did he say?' prompted a concerned Salene.
Enna laid her head on Salene's shoulder, her mind racing to stay one step ahead of the conversation line. 'If I didn't, ' she paused, 'do what he said.'
Salene was shocked. She didn't even think Lex could sink that low. But she still didn't understand what Lex had over her. This time even Enna panicked a bit; what could she tell Salene that Lex was blackmailing her about. Couldn't be the real thing because that was just too weird, it had to be something which was in fitting with Lex's character and in keeping with her act. The trouble was it wasn't like her weak and vulnerable act could of ever done anything wrong. Lex was no problem, she'd just name the crime and they'd believe her. Only one thing came to mind that was perfect for Lex but not so good for Enna, but if she phrased it right…Enna smiled to herself over Salene's shoulder.
'But why Enna?'
Enna leant backwards so the two girls were face to face. 'Salene,' she said seriously staring out of wide tear rimmed eyes, 'You've got to promise you won't tell anyone.'
'Of course.'
'No, I mean it. Not Trudi, not Ryan, not Bray, and especially not Lex.'
'OK Enna, what is it?'
'A long time ago just after the virus had hit we were going through a really bad time. My big brother was really ill and food supplies were running low. Me and my little sister Leanne,' she put that bit in especially for Salene, 'were starving and I had to do something. So I went down to the nearest gambling den and I… I…' she looked up at Salene as though she was dreading what she'd think. 'And it was a terrible thing to do I know. But we were desperate and I only did it a few times when we were really desperate. I had too, my family would starve otherwise.' Again she looked up cautiously at Salene. 'Do you really hate me?'
Meanwhile Salene had only just clicked to what Enna was on about. Poor girl, no wonder she was in such a state. 'No Enna. Of course not. I admire you for sacrificing yourself for your family like that.' She an arm around her wondering at the incredible courage it must have taken, at every step of the way. 'And Lex knew about this?' she asked gently.
Enna shook his head, here came the piece de la resistance. 'He was one of them.'

Back in bed that night Salene lay on her side facing the wall and scanned over the revelations of the day. In the end she'd left an exhausted Enna to cry herself to sleep. The more she heard about Lex the more she hated him. At one time she'd thought he was improving and was only behaving the way he was because he was missing Zandra, but obviously not. Ryan leant over the bed to touch her shoulder. 'Salene are you awake?'
Salene rolled over, a tear trickled down her cheek on Enna's behalf.
"What's the matter?'
'Oh Ryan,' she remembered her promise. 'Its nothing.' she said quickly, wiping away the tear.
Ryan looked at her concerned. Was it him? he thought.
'I was just thinking about my parents,' put in Salene in a feeble attempt to shelter him from too much worry. He bought it completely.

Episode Thirteen

That night hardly any of the mallrats got much sleep. Jack lay awake, not thinking of Ellie for the first time in several weeks but instead of Enna's beautiful face. She was friendly too and smart and fun and, and, and. He was busy numerating her good points when something suddenly came into his head. All the papers they'd got from the lab where they found the antidote and Eagle mountain and Hope Island. Half of them were in obscure chemical formulae and strange notation that Jack had tried to read up on and understand but it was just too complex. Enna on the other hand was a chemist, she'd be far better than him at trying to understand him. He had half made up his mind to go and wake her with the papers but then he remembered how she'd come to be here and wandering into her room in the middle of the night was probably not the best idea. Although she seemed nice and friendly on the outside Jack could still see her fragility in those wonderful eyes, or at least so he thought.

Meanwhile Ellie lay in bed cursing Enna and herself in turns. Firstly Enna, what did she think she was doing? Sucking up to him like that. Then herself, why hadn't she moved faster? If she'd agreed to go out with him ages ago this might never have happened.
Salene tossed and turned all night. What was she going to do now? She'd been sworn to secrecy so it wasn't even like she could have a quiet word with Lex or Bray about all of this. Hopefully Lex had been scared off for a bit but poor Enna! She was so fragile couldn't Lex see this would destroy her? She'd have liked to tell to Trudi but Salene knew she'd go mad and rage at Lex and then run straight to Bray. Bray could handle the situation the best, he'd know what to do. Yes, she decided, I'll tell Bray. Enna really only wants me not to say to anyone because she thinks we'll all hate her and throw her out of the tribe. Once she realises, she'll be fine about it.

Enna lay in bed trying to work out different scenarios as to what would happen next. She tried to think like Salene, what would she do? She knew Salene would tell somebody, not Lex because she'd think that would make the situation worse. Not Trudi because she'd get angry. It would probably be Ryan or Bray. She hoped it wouldn't be Ryan as he'd known Lex before and he would confuse everything. It would probably be Bray, yes she was sure it would be Bray. She felt sorry for Bray being the leader he got lumbered with everyone else's problems. When she had her own tribe there was no way that she'd let that happen. Bray would take it well, on her side, he was biased against Lex anyway. She hoped that Salene would feel guilty about telling him and so not give too many details away.

Lex lay in bed wondering what Enna was up to and why she was here anyway. He'd noticed about how she'd been 'doing the rounds' and spending quality time with the other members of the tribe but it wasn't as though she liked them, she laughed at them when she was with him. He knew she'd become a favourite with Tai-san, after dinner they'd go away and mix potions with her plants and stuff making everything from face creams to soups. He could see Jack had fallen for her big time and she was always round his workshop. There was only one reason anyone would try and break into the mallrats; the antidote. It had to be. She was devious enough, a fantastic actress and she had a few other talents too… But no. That's where she wanted him, under her thumb and there was no way… But she was cooking up something involving him too, that little scene with Salene. At this point he fell asleep and again dreamed of Enna, she was intoxicating.

Episode Fourteen

First thing in the morning Jack went out of his workshop and over to Enna's room with a few of his papers. He climbed the stairs with a whole armful of files and loose pieces of paper.
He knocked gingerly on the door. 'Hello? Anyone there?' he called. The door was slightly ajar so he pushed it open to look inside. To his surprise he saw Salene sitting on the bed, her arm around Enna, and Bray sitting opposite looking very concerned. Enna's eyes were red and swollen from crying. The three looked towards the door. When Enna saw him she forced a smiled. 'Oh hi Jack.'
'Er…. Hi Enna. I'm interrupting something aren't I.' The other two were looking at the floor a little embarrassed. 'OK I'll just leave these here.' He put the papers on the floor by the door. 'I found some stuff, just wondered if you'd like to look at it.'
Enna nodded. 'Thanks Jack, I'll take a look later.'
Jack slowly backed out.
From outside the door Jack could hear Bray's angry voice. 'Look Enna, I'm sorry but I've got to go and see Lex, I'm going to kill him.' Jack heard him get up and pace around the room.
'No Bray don't! It'll just make matters worse. Salene probably scared him off the other day anyway.'
'Still, he has absolutely no right to try and do what he did to you!' Jack knew he shouldn't be listening to this but he couldn't move. Enna was crying again now. 'Look can't we just leave it and see what happens? That might be it now, he might not try anything ever again.'
Bray shook his head, still pacing the room in anger.
'Bray, I can't risk the others finding out. What would they think of me? Patsy and Chloe and Jack and Ellie and KC? I'd never be able to face them again.' Jack winced at his name.
Salene hugged Enna and turned to Bray. 'Can't we just leave it? Just for a while?'
Bray relented but, 'Only if you tell me straight away if he tries anything. Straight away. You understand?' Enna nodded. Bray continued, 'And if so much as touches you we'll throw him out of the tribe.'
Enna sniffed. Great, this was perfect, all she had to do know is to cry wolf, or Lex rather, and he was out!
Bray walked out the room in a hurry catching Jack by surprise. He ducked into one of the rooms as Bray walked by, he was in too much of a blind fury to notice.

Later on that day Enna ducked down to Jack's workshop to apologize about earlier. To her dismay he wasn't there. Just then Lex walked up behind her and dragged her by the arm down to the dark end of the corridor. He grabbed her neck and held her up against a wall. 'Tell me what's going on.'
Enna knew Lex wouldn't hurt her so she didn't even try to struggle. 'What are you talking about?' she did her innocent large eyes look mocking Lex.
He held her tighter against the wall. 'Don't play with me Enna. Now.' He said. 'Tell me.'
'Don't risk it Lex,' she said smugly . 'One scream and the whole mall comes running and our friend Bray won't be too happy.'
'If you live long enough for one scream. Now, what have you told him?' He tightened his grip round her neck.
Enna started to panic slightly then out of the corner of her eye she caught sight of something. She started to struggle under his tight grip and crying. Lex thought it was for real this time.
'Lex?! What are you doing?' Lex span round to see Jack behind him looking horrified. He let go of Enna's necked and she slumped to the floor, choking, crying, coughing. Lex stayed calm. 'Don't trust her. Don't trust anything she says or anything she does.' He walked calmly past him.
Jack immediately ran forward to help Enna. She flung her arms around him. 'Oh Jack, Jack I was so scared.'
'Are You OK Enna? What did he do to you?'
Enna started her story. At that moment Ellie caught sight of them, Enna with her arms wrapped around Jack from the end of the corridor. She turned in disgust and walked away.

Episode Fifteen

'Quiet please everyone.' Bray said. The crowd in the dinning room fell silent. 'OK, its been two weeks since Enna arrived on our doorstep and I think everyone's had time to get to know her.' He tried not to look at Lex. He continued; 'So it's about time we had a vote on whether we let her join the tribe.'
He gestured to Enna and she stood up. 'Before you vote I'd just like to thank you all for being so kind and tolerant towards me. I think that everything the mallrats stand for is great, giving out the formula free when you have the temptation of so much power at your fingertips. Can I just say that I would be so proud to be a member, if you'll have me of course.' She smiled round at everyone before taking her place. It was gonna be a walk-over, there was hardly even any point voting.
Bray stood up again, 'OK then, it's time to…'
'Wait.' came a voice from the back. Lex pushed his way to the front. 'In the interest of having a democratic vote,' he sneered sarcastically. 'Don't we get to present the case against?'
Bray was trapped and had to let him go ahead. Salene looked at Enna in horror, what was he going to do? A look of fear also spread over Enna's face but inside she was laughing, there was nothing he could say now, not after Salene had walked in on them, her sob story to Bray and finally Lex had shot himself in the foot when Jack caught him threatening her.
'Well where shall we start?' he raised his eyebrows, 'Firstly, she's not the innocent, sweet, mild girl you all think she is.' At the word innocent Enna looked at Salene in despair. 'She's a devious, power-hungry, seductive monster.'
The rest of the tribe were looking at each other shocked. They didn't understand it, but more importantly; they didn't believe it. Only Bray and Salene started at the floor, bound to secrecy, Jack in the corner table bit his lip; he too had sworn not to tell anyone what he'd seen.
'And the only reason she's here is to steal the antidote formula.'
This time Bray couldn't keep quiet, how could he stand there and accuse her! 'This is low Lex, even for you. After everything you've done to her???'
'Oh is this what she's told you? Do go on.'
Bray looked around nervously at Enna, she was in Salene's arms crying onto her shoulder. Through her tears she nodded to give Bray the go ahead. 'Well I think the rest of the tribe should know what's going on. Lex, shall you tell them or shall I?'
'I'll go first shall I? Then we can compare notes. Before Enna came here in that,' he paused trying to think of the word. 'that dreadful state. I 'd seen what had happened to her. She got her 'boyfriend' to punch her in the face to give her the black eye, it looked great didn't it?. When she found out I'd seen her she came to my room every other day or so to… How shall it put it for the younger ones? To try and convince me not to tell any one about her little act. She didn't seem quite so innocent then, I can tell you. It looks as though Bray might have had the same treatment and Jack too? I don't know, we didn't do much talking,' he said mockingly.
By the end of this Enna was sobbing hard. Bray was staring in disgust at Lex and so were the rest of the tribe. Ellie was looking shocked at Jack who was looking shocked at Lex. There was a silence.
'Now shall we have a story that's a bit more true to life everyone? Firstly Jack and I have not had the same 'treatment' as Lex calls it. Yesterday Salene walked in on Lex trying to kiss Enna in her room, she was pushing him away and crying. When Lex had gone we found out that he'd been blackmailing her. If she didn't sleep with him then he would reveal one of her dark secrets.'
Lex laughed, 'Oh, so I'm the one doing the blackmailing? Sorry, lost you for a moment there,' he said sarcastically. 'Do tell all Enna, I wouldn't put you down as the shy type. What is this deep dark secret?'
Enna lifted her head from Salene's shoulder, a look of hatred and fear in her eyes. 'OK Lex, I'll admit it then you won't have anything to hold over me. I'm so sorry everyone, I don't know what you'll think of me, I know it was wrong but at the time it really was the only option. My brother was dying and my little sister Leanne was starving. It was the only way I could get food.'
Trudi looked up at her confused. 'What are you talking about Enna?'
'I slept with a few guys for food.'
There was a shocked silence that ran around the mall. Lex was the one to break it: 'What???'
'I did it OK, don't make this any harder for me Lex. I was a whore, a prostitute. Are you happy now?' she screamed.
Bray stepped in to help her. 'There Lex, this is all your fault. Now you've got nothing to threaten her with any more. I think you should leave… the tribe.'
'What?' Lex couldn't believe it, everything was going pear shaped. 'How can you believe her? I never threatened her. Besides her word, what proof do you have?'
'I saw it.' Jack stood up at the back, he couldn't keep it quiet any longer.
'What?' said Bray.
'Yesterday. He had her up against a wall and he had her by the throat and was saying he'd kill her if she told anyone or something.'
Bray spun round to Enna. 'Is this true?' Enna nodded. 'Why didn't you tell me?'
Enna just cried. Lex shook his head, knowing what an act it was. 'Can't you see she's just pretending?'
Enna raised her head so the whole tribe could see the tears running down her face smearing the make-up and her swollen eyes. Inside she was laughing at her and Lex knew it, as for the rest of the tribe all they saw was the face of kind, pretty girl reduced to this by Lex.
'This vote's been a long time coming,' Bray sighed. 'All those in favour of throwing Lex out of the Mallrats raise their hand.'
Salene and Trudi put up their hands immediately followed by Bray. Jack was also among the first to raise his hand, followed by Tai-san, Alice, Ellie, Patsy, Chloe and KC.
Lex spun round in disbelief. 'What happened to second chances?.' He walked up close to Bray. 'If Amber was here…' Then out of the corner of his eye he saw Ryan's hand going up. 'Ryan, mate How could you?'
'I'm sorry Lex, but you went way too far this time.'
'Well I never realised what a little fan club she had.'
'This isn't about her Lex. It's about you,' put in Bray coldly. 'And you are officially out of the Mallrats. You have 24 hours to clear your stuff and get out.'
Lex walked for the door, then turned and said 'Watch her. She'll destroy you all.'
