How to get The Tribe look

You want to be able to emulate those hairstyles? Keep track of what's in and out for warpaint this season? You've come to the right place.

Or at least you did for Series One! Series Two went mental with hairstles and tattoos changing several times an episode, let alone each week. So at the top of this list is an 'overview' of Tribe trends...

Hair:

If you are female, get plaiting and drag out those hair crimpers. Whatever you do, don't leave hair flat and straight - bouffe it up and curl it, pile it up on your head. Coloured feathers are definitely en vogue - stick them in any way you feel like. Coloured hair extensions are great too - plait thin strands and tie a feather to the end. The only exceptions to these rules are Salene and Trudy who favour the all over colour dye and then hacking randomly with scissors.

Boys lose out a bit here. The most popular look is to punk spike and dye the tips, but if you are a baddy then dreadlocks are the way to go.

Warpaint:

Blues, greens and whites are very ecologically friendly, but it's whatever you like. Stripes are simple and effective but team them with triangular designs to create more interest.

Tattoos:

Definitely not the permanent kind. Maori or celtic only please. Unless you choose to advertise your forthcoming single by inscribing the title on your arm... If you are a Mallrat, don't forget the mysterious pentagram symbol on your hand.

Other:

It's always a good idea to keep some flowers strapped to your arm with ribbon or loosely wund wire (instead of deodorant?!!). Or possibly some spare feathers just in case.
