I have to confess that I hardly watch OLTL anymore. I am still not satisfied that with the amount of airtime TDS gets. I don't even by Soap Mags anymore. Joi, keep up the good work! Joi's Web Page for Timothy. Anyway, I am sort of tuning but not paying much attention. I guess there's truth in that saying "Be careful what you ask for." Honestly, I really wanted Liz Reynolds to come to town. Not this Liz Reynolds, but an African American Liz Reynolds. A Liz Reynolds where I knew that there just might be a possibility of she and RJ rekindling their young love. Even if the romance didn't work out, I still wanted to see these two people wonder if the "SPARK" was still there. You just don't know how upset I was when I saw Keri's mother. I have to be honest I have never pictured RJ's former lover as a blonde; maybe a light skinned African American, but never a blonde. I always figured RJ's attraction to Nora years ago had more to do with his revenge against Hank; and that through the years he grew to love Nora for Nora. Then to make matters worse they have this woman hop in bed with Antonio. Isn't it bad enough that RJ's daughter is in love with Antonio? And what mature woman in this day and age would hop in bed with a complete stranger, no names exchanged, just bodily fluids. I am sorry I am really upset with OLTL. The PTB haven't shown either RJ or Hank with a woman for years now, and Antonio gets to hop in bed with his fiance's mother, and his brother's wife. Did I miss anyone? June 7, 2002 Hello all!!! Well at one point there were some nervous TDS fans out there, me included. RUMOR had it that TDS was leaving the show. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. Well, I think it's fortunate. I can only hope that PTB have promised TDS RJ's story with Liz Reynolds. I do have to admit that I am not watching OLTL much lately. They've worn me down with all those bland young ones and Niki/Viki revisited for the billionth time. Now I have nothing against young people on the show but dang make them interesting. Let's go down memory lane -- some interesting young cast members. Kevin, Joey, Kelly, Todd, Marty, Cristian, Jessica, Eddie, and Javier. I had such high hopes because Lorraine Broderick had joined the writing team. | ||
January 1, 2002 A new year, new beginnings and hopefully more airtime for RJ and Hank. I am liking that Keri's RJ's daughter. I wasn't sure that I would. I wanted Rachel to return to Llanview . I loved Rachel and RJ's relationship. I just wish RJ was getting more airtime. Can anyone wonder why RJ is my favorite. Sure he's an ex-con; has some shady dealings and all. Yet, when I see how gentle and loving he is with his new found daughter, I just find myself liking him more and more. Timothy D. Stickney never lets me down in his performances and I think this was one of his best.
Sometimes, patience pays off, and that's the case for One Life to Live's backburner brothers, the Gannons. Timothy D. Stickney (R.J.) and Nathan Purdee (Hank) are veterans of the show, but haven't had a chance to show why they've stayed on so long, with so little to do, until now. Hank's revelation that R.J. is Keri's father was quite a blow to R.J., who knew nothing of his grown daughter's existence. Stickney, who always blows his top with the utmost coolness, played R.J.'s shock, fear, vulnerability and surprise in perfect harmony opposite Purdee, who staunchly justified Hank's actions. The interaction between Stickney and Purdee was electric; these two actors know what it takes to bring a confrontation between brothers alive on the screen. Kudos to OLTL for bringing more characters of color to the forefront in a story that will ultimately ask if Hank's deception to protect his brother will cause more harm than good in the end. It's a situation to which all viewers can relate.
