Dorian Lord
Although she lives to destroy her longtime enemy, Viki, Dorian Lord would give her life to protect her family. As the head of One Life To Live's Cramer clan, Dorian has been a powerful force since she moved to Llanview in the early 1970's with her timid younger sister, Melinda. In 1974, Dr. Dorian Cramer lost her license to practice medicine for inadvertently giving a patient, Rachel Wilson, an overdose of medication. Embittered by the destruction of her career, Dorian set out to get even with the residents of Llanview!
In 1975, Dorian married the elderly and frail newspaper magnate Victor Lord. When he died under mysterious circumstances in June 1976, Viki suspected that Dorian withheld Victor's medicine, thus causing his death.
She had a short affair with Clint Buchanan in 1980, but tired of Dorian's incessant scheming, he called it quits. Later that year, upwardly mobile Dorian saw an opportunity to become Pennsylvania's First Lady -- and grabbed it by marrying future governor, Herb Callison. With Asa Buchanan's help, she bought the election for Herb, but her dream collapsed when Herb was forced to resign to avoid the scandal that Dorian caused!
Cassie, Dorian's teenage daughter, by her medical school lover David Renaldi, came to Llanview in 1981. The following year she was adopted by Herb Callison. Mother and daughter enjoyed a volatile relationship. After Dorian tried to woo back David, Herb divorced Dorian - but not before making love to her in the stalled courthouse elevator.
In 1986, Dorian's romance with attorney Jonathan Russell was put on hold when she was convicted of the murder of drug dealer/cult leader Mitch Laurence. After several harrowing months in prison, Dorian was cleared when an audiotape was found, proving Dorian killed Mitch in self-defense. Soon after, Dorian left Llanview to become Ambassador to Mendorra.
Returning two years later, Dorian (now the owner of THE INTRUDER newspaper) schemed and manipulated with one goal -- to destroy Viki and her Buchanan empire! For pleasure, she seduced long-haired boy toy Jason Webb. While renewing her amorous affair with Jason for a short time in 1993, Dorian learned she had breast cancer. After treatment, she was back at her old ways - engaged in a strong-willed battle with Viki over a man, Sloan Carpenter. (Viki ultimately won!)
When Viki and Sloan Carpenter set out to prove that Dorian murdered Victor Lord 17 years earlier, Dorian sharpened her fangs -- and seduced Viki's vulnerable teenage son, Joey. But that liaison was interrupted by newly discovered evidence that convicted Dorian of killing her late husband. Trading in her designer duds for prison stripes, Dorian was sentenced to death by lethal injection. However, Dorian's life was spared when newcomer David Vickers, falsely claiming to be Victor Lord's long-lost heir, came forward with a phony diary page that cleared her name.
In 1995, Joey was devastated when Dorian inexplicably left him - and left the country. In truth, she was right under his nose --- held prison by Viki's "alter," Jean in a secret, sound-proof room beneath Llanfair. Jean finally released Dorian after she agreed to break up with Joey and marry David Vickers.
The 1995 arrival of her wild-child niece, Kelly, sent Dorian's life into renewed turmoil. After divorcing David, Dorian proved she was still a masterful schemer by plotting to break up her niece Kelly and her boyfriend, Joey Buchanan. In the spring, while in Washington, D.C. she encountered a new man who would have a profound effect on her life - Mel Hayes. Has the flamboyant Dorian Lord finally met her match in this brilliant alcoholic journalist? Time will tell!
Dorian resides in the Saybrooke Mansion (which is actually owned by Blair's infant daughter, Starr!). The historic dwelling is located at 202 Lincoln Drive in Llanview, PA.
Dorian left Llanview in 2000. Her return is yet unknown.
