1. Douglas Marland Papers, 1982-1993.

   This collection includes Mr. Marland's scripts and outlines for ATWT from Sept. 15, 1988 through May 3, 1993.

2. B. Irna Phillips Papers, 1931-1968. [Call Number: U.S. Mss 76AN]

   This collection includes scripts, outlines, advertising copy, and correspondence pertaining to all of Ms. Phillips' soap opera creations, including ATWT.

3. Procter and Gamble Productions Television Script Collection, 1955-1980. [Call Number: Micro 2022 and Mss 784]

   This package includes variant scripts for ATWT from these years: 1957-1960; 1971; and 1973-1979. Also included are the 1955-1957 production papers and files of ATWT's first producer, Charles Fisher of Benton and Bowles. You must sign a letter of indemnification to use this collection.

2. Ohio State University

   A collection of Jean Rouverol's early 1980s scripts for As the World Turns can be found on the campus of Ohio State University at the following location:

   Included in this collection are 130 scripts written by Jean Rouverol for ATWT from 1980 to 1982; multi-episode summaries, plot outlines, production memos and ratings sheets. The date range of this set starts with episode # 6216 (taped April 18, 1980 and shown approximately one week later) and ends with episode # 6857 (taped Oct. 22, 1982 and aired Oct. 29, 1982).
   This collection is a good place to start for people studying the production and storytelling changes undergone by ATWT during the early 1980s.

3. New York Public Library-Billy Rose Theater Collection

   • Fifteen Scripts for As the World Turns from August 1967.

   These scripts are episodes 2948 (air date Aug. 7, 1967) through 2962 (air date Aug. 25, 1967) and were written by John Boruff and Warren Swanson from a story devised by Irna Phillips.

   These are some of the plotlines covered in the scripts:

   • Claire Cassen's elopement with Dr. Michael Shea;
   • The finalization of Lisa's divorce from John Eldridge so she could pursue Dr. Shea;
   • Bob's troubles at the hospital over a blood transfusion he gave Diane Steiner without her parents' consent;
   • A disagreement between Chris and Nancy not only over Nancy's handling of Penny's marital troubles with Roy McGuire, but also with Nancy's wish to have her sister Pearl, whose husband, Harry, was seriously ill, live with the Hughes family; and
   • Susan Burke's attempt to play matchmaker between Paul Stewart and nurse Wendy Bennett.
