"Whose Line is it Anyway" is an incredibly funny cross between a comedy program and a game show. It originated in England in 1988 by Hat Trick Productions and stars Clive Anderson, who is mostly made fun of because of his receding hairline and parts of his physical appearance.

The whole fun of this show is...everything is made up! Four performers play improvisation games such as Weird Newscasters, Dead Bodies, Party Quirks and more, but the points are scored as Clive sees things (for example, he'll award a million points to someone if he really likes something, and if he doesn't, he might award negative points). There is no grand prize, but the winner had to read the credits in a style of Clive's choosing, which can range anywhere from cheerleaders to Beavis and Butt-head. Droves of performers from all over the map have played the game, some more notable personalities include Josie Lawrence, Caroline Quentin, Mike McShane, Steve Frost, Greg Proops, Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, Brad Sherwood and Ryan Stiles, just to name a few among many.

For the show's tenth anniversary in 1998, Clive and Co. brought the show to America to show audiences on this side of the Atlantic how hilarious this show can be. And in the fall of 1998, ABC decided to keep the show in America and bring in comedian Drew Carey to host it (this version is nicknamed by cyber-"Whosers" as "Drew's Line Is It Anyway?", so you don't get the two versions mixed up!), with the winners of each game getting the chance to do a game with Drew himself. Are you watching the new season? I hope you are!

Interesting Factoid:
Bruce Ryan, the person who designed the set for the American version of Whose Line, also did the set for the current version of Hollywood Squares! I bet you didn't see that coming, did you?

Brad: Why am I the only normal one?
