My wife and I just returned from a trip to Chile and Easter Island. We had concerns about the accommodation on Easter Island, but through a lucky twist of fate we got to stay with a genuine Pascuan family. They have a residencial (bed and breakfast), Mahina Taka-Taka Georgia, located near the spectacular Ahu Tahai and the museum. They made everything to make our stay the most pleasant possible. It went from site seeing tips, local stories and legends evening telling sessions to the typical curanto (dish cooked in an earth oven) prepared in our honour. The name of the lady in charge of the residencial is Lucia Riroroko de Haoa and she can be contacted by phone at 56 (32) 100-452 or by fax at 56 (32) 100-282 as well by email at riroroco@entelchile.net. If you make the reservation in advance she'll be waiting for you at the plane with flower necklaces.
Her complete address is
Lucia Riroroko de Haoa
Mahina Taka-Taka Georgia Residencial
Correo Isla de Pascua
Chile
The price charged, per person per night, varies between 25 US$ accommodation and breakfast and 45 US$ for room and two meals per day.
If you decide to go please give our best wishes to Lucia and her entire family.
Details of the residencial
The residencial is composed of five rooms with
two beds, each having its own private bathroom.
Additionally there is a comedor (dinning room)
where the meals are served.
