Hawaiian Values http://hawaiianlanguage.com/o-hawaiianvalues.html
By their living examples, our kûpuna (elders) bestowed their Hawaiian values upon their keiki (children) and mo`opuna (grandchildren). These were the best gifts given, as lives imbued with these values are immeasurably enhanced and truly waiwai (rich), i.e., in heart and in spirit. May you strive to embrace, cherish and preserve these values, |
Uniquely Hawaiian: Ka or Ke is often translated as 'the', but this is a convention and is by no means a certain translation into English. Ke or Ka is used before abstract and general Hawaiian terms, such as these values. Thus, it is Ke Aloha, and not simply Aloha. |
