Action/Adventure/RPG Game Reviews

On this page, you'll find reviews for the games I've played and decided to make reviews for :-) You'll get some insight into what I like and don't like in most RPGs, how they impact the gameplay and feel of the game, and generally, you'll see what goes through my mind when thinking of how to design a game. When I'm playing RPGs, I'm not just playing for the fun of it. I'm analysing every feature of the game.

I Plan to Play, and review:

Have played these games, but I don't want to do full review of them.

Ogre Battle

Tedious strategy game... not fun

Robotrek

comical game, increasing your robot's stats... had much more potential

Rudra's Secret Treasure

rather fun game, if it were in English, it would be really good. There were 3 main stories. Each story was separate from the others. What you did, had an effect on the other 2 stories, however, it was totally linear. Events took place on "days", so you could be playing one character's "night of day 3" for hours.

Bahamut Lagoon

neat strategy game, but in Japanese

Secret of Evermore

not as bad as everyone says it was

Treasure Hunter G

totally in Japanese, if it was in English, I may have done more in it

Shining Force

fun strategy game

7th Saga

extremely difficult... and didn't offer many "rewarding" experiences

The Romancing Saga series

being in Japanese, it wouldn't be a fair review

Y's 3

Wanderers from Y's. Fun side-scroller RPG

Pokemon

Why does everyone say it so addictive? I just didn't get "into it"

Front Mission

neat mech fighting strategy game, but it's in Japanese

Arcana

ICK, don't even rent it

The Dragon Quest (warrior) Series

interesting games, but they never held my interest

The Ultima games

horrible games, never held my interest, well I liked Ultima: The Stygian Abyss
