Their Story

Their love story is my favorite story of all time.They are two of the most memorable characters from the entire Macross series. It is obvious that someone as nice as Max could be the only one to handle Miriya. Okay so she tried to kill him a couple of times, but what’s that in the game of love. Max is understanding because he knows she was Zentraedi and that’s all they do is fight. Miriya gives up everything she lived for, which was basically being the best in the game of war for an entire world of experiences. In the weakness of defeat of her world crashing down, she does not understand what is happening. But what is happening feels wonderful far beyond the simple range of Zentraedi allowed emotions. She falls in love and everything changes. Miriya sheds the overconfidence for an intense dedication to her mate and family. Miriya settles for being second best, but what a better match than being married to the best pilot in the universe? She never worried about him going off to fight and die, hey she was a warrior too. She’s not overly emotional because she’s discovering emotions. She was loyal and instead of holding him back, she supports him and stands by his side.

Their pairing helps turn the tide of the war. In addition to seeing lower officers defect, now their greatest pilot has joined the Super Dimensional Fortress to live like humans. Miriya is the most successful Zentraedi to acculturate into human society. They have the first half Zentraedi and half human child. Miriya fights to rebuild the Earth and joins the colonization project.
