Scott Bernard/Steik Bernard

Scott landed on Earth as the only survivor of a mission to liberate the Earth from the Invid. However, everyone in the fleet, including his finacee, is killed. With an order from Rick Hunter to destroy Relfex Point, he gathers up a ragtag group to battle the invid. After finding the invid simulagent who is a amnesiac, Scott renames her Marlene and after awhile falls in love with her. After they reach Reflex point, they conince the Invid Regis to leave. Scott leaves Earth in order to find Rick Hunter, leaving Marlene behing.

Rand/Rei

In the wake of the destruction by the Invid, this guy just wanders around, until he meets Scott. He is the first to join Scott's struggle against the Invid. When Rook joins the group, he likes her but this is not returned, until there are mutual sparks in near the end.

Rook Bartly/Fuke Erose

She saves Scott and Rand's behinds early on in the series. Soon she joins up with the group. She is a tough young woman who is fiercely independent, but follows the leadership of Scott and eventually fights alongside the REF forces to defeat the Invid.

Annie LaBelle/Mint Rubble

Annie is the tag along and really annoying. She really likes peppermint candy. And I don't know why she joined up with the team. Maybe because they give her a lot of attention by trying to keep her out of trouble. She once left the group to marry a tribal warrior, but then returned.

Lancer aka Yellow Dancer/Yellow Belmont

He is a pilot and freedom fighter who joins the team. Because he was known fighter, he developed a female personae in order to travel around and evade capture. He and Sera, an Invid clone help form a peace between humans and Invid.

Marlene aka Ariel

Created by the Regis to be a spy, however she loses her memory in the process. Marlene can sense the Invid coming and is quite terrified by them. She is a great use to the group because of her advance warnings. She falls in love with Scott but is left behind.

Jim "Lunk" Copper/Jim Austin

During the early invasions, Lunk was forced to watch his friends die and run away. He was plagued with self doubt, but finally joins Scott's team. He repares the mecha and protects Marlene and Annie while the others fight it out with the Invid.

Sera/Sorji

An Invid clone who is a ruthless warrior. However when she meets Lancer for the first time she is overcome by emotions and can't kill him. Eventually she joins Lancer and Marlene and convince the Regis that any more fighting is futile. She decides to remain with Lancer on Earth.

Corg/Batra

Another Invid clone who discovers emotions. But his feelings are rage and hate against his enemies. He is eventually killed in the final battle by Scott Bernard.

The Regis/Refles

The Queen Mother of Invid. Her goal is to conquer the planet and to evolve her race. She is convinced to leave the Earth so that both races will not be destroyed.
