Past Reflections and Present Emotions part II
by Sailor StarLight

Taiki got up slowly and stretched. He felt rather lazy today and was just tired of studying altogether. He then glanced at his laptop, which he was on the net all night causing him to wake up late. Taiki glanced at the clock. Almost noon. He then looked out the window to see a storm raging outside. "I feel sorry for anyone who's stuck in that." he muttered to himself.
"Well, then feel sorry for Yaten." said Seiya, coming into Taiki's room. Taiki looked up, startled. "Nani [what]?" He said, waking up fast. Seiya sighed and faced the window. "Yaten went out a little earlier this morning. He isn't back yet." Taiki stood up. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go look for him!" Seiya slowly shook his head. "Iie [no]." he said. Now Taiki looked bewildered. "Iie?" Taiki asked, confused. Seiya now faced Taiki. " I think it will be better to leave Yaten alone. He needs some time and space to sort out his emotions." Seiya then smiled lightly. "I'm sure he's fine. This is Yaten we're talking about. He's always fine." Seiya said reassuringly
stepping into the living room.
Taiki glanced at the storm, which was still fuming out there.
"I hope you're right..." Taiki whispered to himself. He then glanced around his room, trying to distract himself from the thought of Yaten out in the storm. His eyes rested on his laptop again. Taiki slowly went and turned it on then went back to staring out the window as it booted up. He sighed and went to go check his e-mail since he had nothing else to do. Taiki found quite a few e-mails, but one name stood out from all the rest. Mizuno Ami. Taiki quickly clicked on it and skimmed through what she said. Well, read through, since it was such a short and to the point letter.
Taiki-san,
We need to talk. Give me a date, time, and place to meet and I'll be there.
Ami
Taiki stared at it. "We need to talk? What does she mean...?" He wondered. 'Maybe this will be the time for me to tell Ami what I feel about her... Taiki then made a quick response to her e-mail.
Ami,
I don't think today is a good day to go out. Maybe tomorrow at 5 P.M. at Fruits Crown Parlor?
Taiki
Taiki sent the e-mail and within a few minutes got a response.
Taiki,
I know the weather is bad, but please can we meet today???
Ami
Taiki sighed glancing at the weather outside. 'But it _is_ for Ami....' So Taiki couldn't help but give in.
Ok Ami. How about half an hour from now inside Fruits Crown Parlor?
Ami answered with one word.
Agreed.
Taiki shrugged on a water resistant jacket and went out to the door. Seiya watched him from a lazy position the couch. "Where ya' going in this bad weather?" Taiki stopped. His face didn't move but his clear purple eyes met with Seiya's blue. "To meet Ami." Taiki said as he opened the door.
Seiya watched him leave. He could see Taiki below, struggling to close the main door to the apartment complex they were in. Seiya thought of what Taiki was doing for Ami - going outside in this dark and dreary day, even though Taiki was the least fondest of storms out of all three of them. Seiya sighed softly. He would do the same thing if Usagi asked, just to see
her face, touch her face for a moment, Seiya would do anything in the world.... He sighed again. Today was going to be a long day!
Taiki started shivering uncontrollably as the wind shoved him around. But step, by gusty step, he was getting closer to the parlor. Taiki took another step and was almost knocked off his feet by the intensity of the wind. He regained his balance and took another step. Taiki looked around at the bleak day and almost wanted to turn back and rush home to the comfort of his apartment, but he didn't because he was doing it for Ami. Taiki kept whispering that over and over to help keep his mind off the weather and to get to the parlor to meet Ami. He finally saw it in sight and another gust of wind chilled him to the bone. A thought seemed to wedge it's way into his mind. 'What if it's closed? Will you wait outside for Ami, even in _this_ wind?' Taiki stopped for a moment. He nodded his head. 'I would, even in this wind...' Taiki tried to control his shivers of the cold, but could barely contain it.
Taiki then stepped up to the door. He hesitantly pushed it open and to his surprise and joy, found it unlocked. Taiki stepped inside. A few waitresses glanced at him as he came into the restaurant. It had a few other people in it, surprisingly enough. Seven to be exact. Taiki scanned the room, looking for short blue hair, light blue eyes, and a caring face, but no one inside matched that description. Ami wasn't here yet. Taiki sighed and sat in a desolate corner of the restaurant, at a U shaped table. A waitress came up to him, popping bubble gum. She handed him a menu. She then turned and left him to be alone in his thoughts. Taiki glanced at his menu and the words kept
blurring on him. He sighed again. He was nervous in anticipation of Ami. 'Where was she? Is she running late? Maybe the wind got to her and she's hurt somewhere?' Taiki shoved these thoughts aside and tried to read the menu. The waitress came back in a few minutes and asked for his order. Taiki got a small bowl of rice and sushi and some warm soup. He then turned to the window, trying to warm up and wondering where Ami was.
Taiki heard the jingle of a bell from the door. He glanced over at the person. It was a female wearing a hat and long black coat. She had short blue hair. Taiki smiled. It must be Ami. He got up quickly and started walking to her. He was almost to her when she took off her hat and
Taiki saw the rest of her hair was put up in a messy pile at the top of her head. And her eyes were lavender, not blue. This registered in his mind as Taiki passed the woman and found himself in front of a tiny aquarium. He stared at the brilliant colored fish. Swimming this way and that way
and....
'And did I just hear a jingle?' Taiki looked up to see another lady figure coming through the door. She was flushed and windblown, bundled up in a warm coat, scarf, and mittens. She also had blue hair. But she had blue eyes, too. Now Taiki's smile was genuinely heartbreaking.
Ami didn't even glance around. She went to a booth near the end of the restaurant. Right next to Taiki's own booth, but she was facing away from him.
Taiki decided to walk past her booth to see if she would look up, but Ami didn't. Taiki went and sat down in his booth. He then smiled. "Waiting for someone, Ami?" he asked. Ami swirled around and met a pair of intelligent purple eyes staring back at her. She smiled nervously. "Taiki. I'm sorry I kept you waiting, but with the weather out there and all...." "It's ok, Ami." Ami slid out of her booth and into his. She then proceeded to take off her mittens, scarf, and jacket. Just then the waitress brought over a menu for Ami. She just handed the menu right back and ordered just a cup of hot cocoa. Ami then looked down and seemed to be studying the table top. Taiki was trying to catch her eye and it wasn't working. He finally said, "Ami." Ami looked up. "Why'd you bring me here." She smiled weakly and was about to begin, but the waitress was back with Taiki's soup and sushi dish. Ami shut her mouth.
Taiki silently cursed, 'Baka [stupid] waitress!'. Ami glanced at his ordered food. "Maybe I should wait till my cocoa arrives." Taiki nodded. Then they lapsed into silence. In a few minutes Ami's cocoa came and she held it in her hands, trying to warm herself up. She stared at her cocoa, wondering how to say it. Taiki finally couldn't stand the silence any longer. "Ami," he prodded. Ami looked up from her cocoa. She smiled again edgily. "I um..." she stuttered. Taiki looked at her a little bewildered. He's never seen Ami this nervous. Never! "I... wanted to tell you something, Taiki." "Nani [what]?" "I uh..." Ami swallowed and said quickly but timidly, "I really like you. I have ever since I met you. I just really had to get this off my chest and tell you before I lost the nerve to..." Ami hurriedly finished and glanced back at the table, blushing fiercely, but trying not to show it. Taiki's eyes widened. This was like a dream. A dream come true. He smiled happily. Taiki then reached out his hand and gently lifted up Ami's chin. She bit her lip and looked up at him timidly. Taiki scooted over till he was right next to her in the booth. He then drew Ami closer and closer as he moved his head towards hers.
And then there was contact. A dizzying delightful feeling that left them both breathless. Like two souls melting into one, forming one shape, one body. Well, at least it felt that way. Like they were meant to be together. Each shock wave of divine sweetness pulled their feelings closer and closer together that finally Taiki didn't know where his ended and Ami's started. But he did know that he didn't want this to end. He didn't think about anything but how warm and electrifying this was, kissing Ami, being with her, feeling how pure and joyful this giddy feeling was... Taiki then heard a whistle coming from the outside world, not from their cozy little warm spot together, but from the actual outside. He slowly, reluctantly, let go and opened his eyes who met hers. Ami smiled shyly, but Taiki could see imprints of the passion they felt still radiating in her eyes.
"Taiki..." She whispered softly. Her hand gently clasped his. "Ami," Taiki answered back. She let her head fall against his chest and snuggled up against him. Taiki gently disengaged his arm from her and put his arm around Ami's shoulder. Peace seemed to radiate off them and up throughout the room. A few people smiled at the little lovebirds, remembering the time something
like that happened to them. Taiki gently kissed Ami on the cheek and whispered into her ear, "Ami, I love you. I have for a very long time now." Ami's face lifted towards his. She kissed him and quietly said, "I love you too, Taiki-chan."
Seiya was moping around the apartment. There was nothing to do. He couldn't even go outside because of that stupid rainy weather. Seiya sat down at played with the guitar strings, not really playing a song, but a kind of slow melody. He then suddenly sat up. "I know," he said to the walls, "I'll call Usagi." Seiya lifted the receiver and punched in her number, not looking at any piece of paper with the number on it since he already knew it by heart. It rang and rang and....
"Moshi moshi [hello]?" came a feminine voice from over the receiver. "Oh... uh..." stuttered Seiya. "Is Usagi home?" "Hang on a sec, I'll go get her." Came the response from Ikuko-mama. Seiya heard a bit of bustling and then. "Usagi! Usagi-chan wake up! Usagi-chan!" He heard her sigh. "She must be worn out from that nightmare she had last night. I guess I'll let her sleep a little bit longer." The voice came back onto the phone. "I'm sorry, she's asleep now. Could you call back later?" "uh... hai [yes]." Seiya said hanging up the phone.
'Hmm... Usagi had a nightmare last night... I wonder about what? Maybe I could help her somehow..." Seiya then sighed. 'Yeah right... Well, now what to do? Yaten's out. Taiki's out. I'm stuck here with nothing to do. I guess I could go practice, but that gets so tiring after awhile. But... might as well...' thought Seiya, but he didn't get up. He just stared out into the miniature hurricane going on outside his window with all that wind and rain. Then a thought nudged its way into his head. 'Maybe I can get more hours doing my idol work. Yeah! I'll go out to the police
station.' Seiya got out his uniform, put it on and grabbed a raincoat and was out in a flash, now having something to do.
When he reached the station a little while later he asked the head police chief what he could do to help. The Chief looked at him. "Oh, why don't you go with Ino Hajimi over there. We have another accident with a person getting almost run over by a truck. We've had a few of those today with all this nasty weather." Seiya nodded and went back outside to Mr. Ino, who was getting into his car. Seiya joined him and explained the situation. Hajimi nodded and smiled. "Sure, come on and join me! It's been a boring day since most everyone has stayed inside, but now I have someone to talk to!" Hajimi said, his smile widening. He then started babbling on about this and that and put Seiya at ease real quickly. Seiya knew right away that he liked this guy. When they reached Juuban Hospital, Hajimi and Seiya got out quickly and sprinted to the hospital lobby to stay dry. "So, what are we doing?" asked Seiya. "Oh, just questioning some girl. She was almost run over by a truck, but her boyfriend saved her and now he's in a coma." Seiya nodded. "Who?" he then asked. Hajimi glanced through his papers. "A Miss Aino Minako." Seiya looked up, more than shocked. "Nani [what]?!" He practically shouted. Hajimi looked up. "You know the girl?" Seiya nodded. Then a thought occurred to him - Minako doesn't have a boyfriend! But Seiya then heard someone weeping and Yaten's name as on that crying person's lips. Well,
apparently now Minako does have a boyfriend... ...and that means Yaten is... is...
"Doshite [why]? Doshite? Why Yaten? Why did you do that?" Sobbed out Minako as tears streamed down her face. She kept crying even as a doctor came up to her. "Miss? Miss?" Minako finally looked up. "The police want to ask you a few questions about the accident concerning Kou Yaten." Minako nodded and brushed the tears away from her face and brutally shoved all her emotions deep inside so she'd be strong enough not to cry anymore. Minako then walked up to the two officers, not really looking at them. "Miss Aino?" asked Hajimi. Seiya stopped him. "Let me take care of this. She's my friend..." Hajimi nodded in understanding. "Minako-chan...? Minako-chan?" Minako looked up. "Seiya?" she said, but her voice was deadpan, revealing no emotion. "Daijou bu [are you alright]?" he asked. "Hai [yes]. I'm fine," she said, her voice still revealing no emotion. But her face on the other hand... Minako's hair which was normally running luxuriously down her back tied in a red bow was now matted and tangled down and her bow was nowhere to be found. Her eyes were red rimmed and bloodshot. There was also rings under her eyes and her skin was a grayish color. Also, her mouth was slighted twisted and in a grimace, as if she was taking all the blame on herself.
"Minako..." Seiya started. He stopped. This was hard on him. "What..." He stared, but then swallowed and tried again. "What happened to Yaten? What happened out there?" He finally managed to get out. Minako looked at him, her lip quivering. Hajimi guided Minako back to her seat. Seiya sat next to her. "Minako-chan..." he asked again. Minako sniffled. "Yaten-chan..." she
whispered quietly. Minako then took a deep breath, determined not to cry anymore and she started on her story...
Taiki and Ami were holding hands and laughing loudly as the wind tried to shove them together then apart then together again. They were having the most fun they've ever had in a long time... Ami got pushed into Taiki again and she started giggling happily. Taiki smiled and pulled Ami closer to him. Ami rested her head against his shoulder, but then took it off quickly as the
wind tried to separate them again.
Taiki and Ami were just passing Juuban Hospital when a figure ran out and approached them. It was Seiya! Taiki stopped and nudged on Ami's arm, causing her to stop too. "Seiya? What are you doing here? And why are you in your uniform?" questioned a wind blown Taiki, still happy from the game the wind was playing with him and Ami.
Seiya looked at him, his eyes starting to look a little bloodshot. "Seiya? Seiya...?!" Taiki's smile faded. "Nani [what]? Seiya?! What happened?!" Seiya still didn't answer him. "Seiya-kun," asked Ami. "Please tell us..." her voice was so low that it was caught by the wind and was barely heard. "Yaten... and... Minako..." Seiya said, his voice cracking. He then lead Taiki and Ami into the hospital, dejectedly explaining what happened on the way up.
"Minako!" cried Ami rushing up to the girl. "Minako, daijou bu [are you ok]?" Minako looked at Ami. Ami gasped in shock when she saw her. Minako was a mess! "Daijou bu...?" asked Ami quieter. Minako looked back down and started fidgeting. "Iie [no]..." she finally mumbled. "Oh, Minako-chan..." whispered Ami. Ami then abruptly stood up and reached into her pocket, grabbing her phone card. She faced Seiya and Taiki. "I'm going to call Usagi, Rei, and Mako." Ami murmured before leaving hurriedly to find a pay phone.
Seiya and Taiki watched her leave then stared at the now motionless Minako. A nurse came up to Seiya and Taiki. "Are you family of Kou Yaten?" she asked. "Hai," they said at the same time. "You can go see him now." Seiya started to go to Yaten's room, but Taiki put his hand on Seiya's shoulder and shook his head. "Iie," he said. Then turned to the nurse. "Ma'am, I think
Minako should go in first..." He said motioning to her. The nurse shook her head. "Only immediate family." She said, looking at the girl pitifully. "Gomen nasai [I'm sorry]..." she murmured to them, glancing at the guilt-ridden girl again. Taiki glanced over at Minako. "They're engaged!" he blurted out. Seiya looked up, shocked. "Nani [what]!" Taiki put his hand on Seiya's mouth and glared at Seiya. Seiya shut his mouth. The nurse glanced back at Minako who curled into a ball and started rocking slowly, despondently. The nurse smiled. "I guess she can go in - since they're engaged in all..." The nurse gave them a quick wink, showing she knew they really weren't engaged - they were just too young, but she was playing along anyway. "Arigato gozaimasu [thank you very much]." Taiki said gratefully. He then went to Minako and told her that she could go see Yaten. Minako looked at him, her eyes brightening. "Arigato," she said and quickly got up. She then disappeared into his room.
Seiya walked up to Taiki. "That was very nice of you Taiki." "Yeah, I guess. It just seemed right, you know." Seiya nodded. He then changed the subject - if he didn't, he'd get way too depressed. "So, what happened with you and Ami..." Taiki never got to respond since Ami now came up to them. She sighed and plopped down into a hospital chair. She seemed to have aged since Taiki saw her. Ami seemed so weary now. Taiki sat down beside her and gently took her hand. Ami smiled slightly and leaned her head down into his chest while closing her eyes. Seiya's eyebrows went up, but he was smiling slightly at the now couple. Taiki smiled back wanly.
"Yaten..." murmured Minako. "Yaten..." Minako tried again. There was no response, not even a flicker of his hand or something. Minako sighed and pulled up a chair. She didn't know what she was expecting. Maybe for him to wake up at the sound of her voice and say everything would be alright. That he forgave her. Maybe just smile softly in his sleep or... or... something!
Minako's lip quivered and wetness formed in her eyes. "Yaten...!" she cried out wretchedly. She took his unresponsive hand. "Gomen.... gomen nasai!" Minako sniffled and then stared at him. Hoping to see... see something! In all those fairytales she knew, the person was supposed to wake up by now. Wake up, maybe look at their love and smile. Say everything is fine. Say they love each other. Say... something!!! But... but unfortunately for Minako this wasn't a fairytale, this was real life! And life doesn't always have perfect or near perfect endings... Life was filled with tragedies and deaths and sometimes just plain evil! And since this wasn't a fairytale, Yaten might
never wake up again. He'd just stay in an eternal slumber looking so peaceful and so haunting and so... so...
Minako felt a tear drizzle down her cheek. "Yaten..." She squeezed his hand. "Onegai [please]... onegai... wake up soon. For me..." She kissed him gently on the cheek, took one last glimpse at his stilled and lifeless body, and felt more tears silently fall down her check. Minako then stepped outside.
She was met with the concerned faces of her friends. Ami, Rei, Makoto, Usagi, Taiki, and Seiya. She looked at everyone and brushed a tear away from her cheek hurriedly. No one moved. It was if they were all carved in stone, or part of an oil painting perhaps. But then the stillness vanished as Usagi took a step towards Minako. "Minako-chan..." She whispered quietly, as if she
spoke loudly Minako might break into a million pieces, like she were made out of glass. Minako looked at her. "Hai?" she asked emotionlessly. "We're so sorry... All of us..." Usagi said, motioning to everyone. Minako nodded. "I know," she said dispassionately. Usagi's face turned down slightly, almost into a slight frown. Minako just looked at everyone. All their pitying faces.
All their pity! Pity for her! Well, Minako didn't want pity! She just wanted Yaten back! Minako stifled a sob and saw Mako come forward. Then she saw blackness come straight at her, like a freight train, engulfing her in nothingness. Minako surrendered into it deliberately and from a far away view saw herself start to fall and saw the ground come rushing up to meet her. But she didn't feel the impact. She didn't feel anything. Just plain darkness...
"Minako-chan!" cried out everyone as she came rushing to the floor, but Seiya had good reflexes and caught her before she hit the ground. He gently set her down on a hospital chair. Minako slumped into it, looking almost like she was dead, or maybe undead.... The only indication that she was even alive was her eyelashes which fluttered frantically as if she was locked in some horrid nightmare, or maybe she was just watching Yaten get hit over and over and over again.... Trapped in that vivid and ghastly moment.
Usagi rushed to Minako's side. "Minako-chan..." she murmured. "Gomen... We're all so sorry we weren't there to help." But that was part of the problem - they _weren't_ there. Minako was so used to everyone being by her side, fighting with her, that when she was on her own again, look what happened.... Minako just couldn't be a leader anymore. She surrendered the role to Usagi, forever giving up any vestige of hope of becoming Sailor V again. Now she was just Sailor Venus, just one of the Sailor Senshi...
Usagi felt these thought slipping through her head, but she knew that she wasn't the one thinking them - Minako was! "Iie [no]! Minako-chan!" cried out Usagi painfully. Everyone stared at her. "Iie!" she called out again and was filled with a new sense of determination to help out Minako-chan, but the only was Usagi could do that was go into a dream-state like Minako was in.
She swiftly let the ginzuishou take over and felt her soul drift into oblivion... But unfortunately Usagi didn't know that she wouldn't be helping Minako - she'd be too busy locked in her own nightmare...
"Usagi!!!" cried out Seiya as Usagi started to collapse. He picked her up and set her down next to Minako. The rest of the Sailor Senshi stared at the two fallen girls in mute shock. Seiya was just staring at Usagi, memorizing her face. Her wide eyes, stub nose, and petite mouth. He
sighed, wishing he could wake her up with a kiss - like in fairytales, but Seiya knew that unfortunately it wouldn't work this time. Usagi was Sailor Moon, not Sleeping Beauty! Plus, it seemed like Usagi did that for some higher purpose. Maybe to help Minako out in someway.
Seiya didn't know how he knew this, he just did, that's all.
Usagi looked around and shuddered, seeing the same time setting she did when she saw her nightmare. This same fog and blinding coldness. Usagi would be horrified, but not surprised if Mamo-chan came out to her and looked as if he were.... Usagi stopped. "Iie [no]!!! Not again..." she called out to the vast nothingness. "Iie!!!"
"No what, Usako?" said Mamoru quickly coming forth from the fog. Usagi jumped back, expecting to see him in that rotted form, one arm stretched out towards her. Flesh falling off with each step... Usagi shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself protectively. "Nothing..." she murmured.... "Usako, what's wrong?" he repeated. She looked up at him, almost expecting the worst, but just seeing her one true Mamo-chan. She smiled, looked him over once more just in case he turned into Seiya - but he didn't, so Usagi hugged him. "Mamo-chan..." she cooed lovingly. "Usako..." came the answering reply. Usagi knew this was too perfect and knew something evil would be coming soon - but she couldn't care less! All that mattered was that she was in Mamo-chan's arms, being held, being protected, being loved.
Mamoru then slowly faded away and another figure formed a few feet away. It was Sailor Galexia! Usagi knew this to be her since she remembered when Galexia unmercifully took away Sailor Iron Mouse's bracelets, killing her instantly. Usagi took a step back. Galexia was surrounded by numerous starseeds. She glanced at Usagi once, mirth written all over her face -
like she had some secret that concerned Usagi, but wasn't going to tell. Her mirth then turned into a snide smile. She turned away from Usagi, looking out at all the starseeds that she collected from all those solar systems. From all those planets. From all those innocent people!!! Galexia appeared to be looking for one in particular. She then started walking and all the starseeds disappeared except for one. This, she held in her hands. Galexia turned to Usagi now, with the starseed. She laughed, that snarling and menacing laugh that she had, then vanished to leave Usagi alone in her nothingness. Usagi was still staring at the last traces of where the starseed was. It seemed to be hauntingly familiar, but Usagi didn't know exactly how. It was like a word that was at the tip of your tongue, but you just couldn't say it... She stared at the last traces of the light from the starseed then watched as it ceremoniously winked out, leaving her in complete and utter darkness.
"Mamo-chan!!!!!!" cried out Usagi, as the words formed on her lips. That was Mamo-chan's starseed!!!! Usagi opened her mouth and out came an earth-shattering howl of complete desolation!
Usagi woke with a start, sweat streaming down her brow. "Usagi-chan!!! Usagi-chan!!! Nani [what]? Nani?" cried out a voice. Usagi turned her wide eyes to Rei, who seemed to be afraid - afraid for her. "Usagi-chan?" Rei asked again a little shakily. "Daijou bu [are you ok]?" Usagi just stared at her. Rei looked so frightened all of a sudden, like a small child. She
swallowed. "Do you truthfully care?!" The words slipped out of Usagi's mouth before she could stop them. Rei's eyes glazed over and she took a breath like someone slapped her. "Usagi-chan..." she almost whimpered out. "Of course I care!!! I guess you'll never know how much..." Rei said the last few words quietly, hoping for some insane reason that Usagi wouldn't hear them, but
Usagi did. "Rei-chan! Gomen nasai!" Usagi then flung her arms around the now seemingly vulnerable Rei. "Gomen nasai Rei-chan!" Rei smiled slightly and some of the hurt disappeared from her eyes. She hugged Usagi back. "Arigato [thank you], Usagi-chan..." she whispered. "Arigato..."
Minako tossed and turned in her dreamlike state. She was standing at a dock looking out to sea. The sea was so calm and serene, but Minako knew better. She knew that at any moment in time it could rear it's head and wreck havoc on all that dared crossing its path. Fisherman. Vacationers. Anybody... Minako just stared out, wishing she could be as calm as the ocean. She knew she seemed calm on the outside, but the inside... That was another story...! Minako sighed and was about to turn away, but she saw a blast of white light out of the corner in her eye. Minako quickly turned back to the dock and saw Yaten sitting in a boat which was tied to the dock by a thin rope.
"Yaten!" she cried out, running to him. He stared at her, seemingly like stone. Minako stopped in her tracks... Yaten looked so cold. "Yaten-chan..." she murmured. "Daijou bu?" He stared at her for a moment longer before he veiled his gaze with long lashes. His eyes seemed almost tearful. Minako stifled a sob. "Yaten...." she said again. Yaten's eyes looked up and met
hers, then strayed. Glancing at the ocean. Yaten then looked at her, then at the rope, then himself. Never speaking a word, but his meaning seemed clear. Minako's eyebrows furrowed. "Nani? Yaten... what are you trying to tell me?" Yaten glanced at the rope again. Minako stopped. The rope... the rope...
It was so frail and thin and seemed to shimmer with a luster unknown to the earthly realm. It then turned a white silverish color and looked absolutely stunning. The light raced and covered Yaten with an luminous and unearthly glow not known to the human realm. Minako gasped. That was Yaten's silver cord, the cord that connected him from the astral plane to the physical plane. The cord that connected his soul to his body...
Yaten's face seemed sadder, but wiser than she's ever seen him. It seemed so unlike Yaten, that it could have been a complete other person, but Minako knew it was Yaten. She could feel his love for her, pulsating, like an underground current. The wind started blowing gently and Minako heard her name, but Yaten's lips didn't move. "Minako..." the wind whispered.
"Minako..." it whispered again. Minako looked at Yaten. "Yaten..." she murmured sadly, and fell to her knees. At that level she saw the silver cord of his quite clearly. It seemed damaged somehow and looked as if it was about to break. Minako's eyes widened in fear. If that broke Yaten would... Yaten would... Yaten would DIE!
Just then Minako heard a snapping. She watched Yaten drift slowly, languidly, away in the boat. "YATEN!!!!!!" Minako cried out as the wind howled out her sorrows for her. Minako fell silent for a moment, listening. Listening to the wind. "Minakoooo...." it wailed. A lonely tear slid
down her cheek. She collapsed to the ground as more tears followed.
Minako woke up quickly and felt her face. It was damp. She looked around and saw a commotion. Seiya, Taiki, and everyone else were being shooed away from Yaten's room and into the waiting room. All looked grim faced. A nurse wanted Minako to follow them. Minako ripped free of her grasp and ran into Yaten's room. "YATEN!!!!" she cried out desperately. "Y-A-T-E-N!!!!" Doctors and nurses stopped briefly to glance at her, then hurriedly kept doing
whatever they were doing. Minako didn't notice what they were doing. Only Yaten...
One doctor stopped. "Minako... I'm sorry but you have to get out..." Dr. Mizuno, Ami's mom, said softly. Minako bit her lip. Then she saw Yaten's heart monitor which was beeping at a frantic pace. 'His heart... It's beating so fast!' Minako thought. Dr. Mizuno started to nudge Minako out of the door. Then the beeping stopped. All was silent. It seemed as time stood still for
Minako. She then slowly gasped wretchedly. Dr. Mizuno loosened her hold on her. Minako stared at Yaten. She felt raw anguish bubble up into her throat and past her mouth. "YATEN, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE MEEEEEE.........."
Oooh... That was harsh.... Poor Minako.... Though I shouldn't be saying that because I'm the all powerful writer for this fic! ^_^ Bwahaha! I can kill someone in an eye blink, like Yaten perhaps... You'll have to wait for part 3 to see if I really do.... hehe... ;)
