"YATEN, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE MEEEEEE.........."
Everyone heard that cry and knew it to be Minako. Ami rushed up to her as her mom lead a tearful Minako out of the room. "Mother?!" cried Ami. "What are you doing here? I thought you were at another one of your conventions?" Her mother smiled wanly. "I was. I just got back home today and was going to stop here before I went home for the day...' Her mother glanced back at Yaten's room. "Gomen nasai Ami-chan... I need to get back there..." And with that, her mother rushed back inside.
Ami watched her go. Taiki came up and squeezed her hand. Ami glanced at him gratefully. She'd need all the strength she could get... But what about Minako... Minako needed even more strength than Ami. Ami sighed and led Taiki back into the waiting room and stopped when she looked at Minako. Ami bit her lip, took another deep breath and then entered the room. Everyone but Minako glanced up towards her... Ami sighed. "I don't know what's happening...." she said. She could see that everyone's face fell. They relied on her to find out Yaten's condition, but Ami trusted her mother, so she left it up to her and the other doctors - all of them her friends. "My mother's in there... She'll help Yaten as best as her ability will let her..." Minako looked up.
"Arigato..." she whispered hoarsely. Ami nodded, but her face remained grim and mingled with all the other serious faces in that room. She then looked around herself self consciously, not really knowing what to do. Ami sighed and slid into a chair. 'I guess there is nothing to do. Nothing to do but wait...'
It seemed like ages until Ami's mother came out. She looked pretty haggard since the last time Ami saw her. Ami glanced at her watch, which was only 2 hours ago. Minako stood up immediately, and everyone else followed. Ami mother looked at them, her face revealing no expression. "Mr. Kou is going to be fine..." There were sighs of relief. "...but you all must know,
there isn't a great chance of him waking up. He has had a severe head injury and concussion and now he is in a coma as I speak..." She saw everyone's faces fall and tears were forming in Minako's eyes... "Well, the thing about comas is that you'll never know when people will wake up... It could be tomorrow or in a year..." Ami's mother said, trying to make the news seem a little better than it was, but failing. "But it looks promising that he will wake up soon. Now I will have to discuss his injuries with any immediate family members in charge," Dr. Mizuno, said looking round to room doubtfully. "We are his only family members." Seiya said, pointing to himself and Taiki. Dr. Mizuno nodded and started walking a little away from the group. She then sighed. "I didn't want to mention it out there, especially since the way Minako is... but I said there was a chance he could wake up tomorrow or next week or in a year... Or Yaten might not wake up at all... Since you are all friends of Ami's and I dislike to withhold truth, I will explain to you the
brunt of his injuries..." She then went and started with some technical terms which she then clarified in simple Japanese when she saw Seiya's confused expression. But Taiki understood all of it. At the end of her explanation she said, "...Oh, and please don't tell all of this to Minako-chan... She such a sweet girl for this to be happening to her. If you tell her, it'll just crush her knowing that there is such a slim chance of him waking up..." Seiya nodded grimly and went back to the group. He then started saying what Dr. Mizuno told him, leaving out some of the more technical details.
When Seiya finished, Minako felt a sob come out of her throat. She found seven pairs of eyes looking at hers. "Gomen minna [I'm sorry everyone]" she whispered, then ran away. Usagi started to run towards her, but Makoto stopped her. "I'll take care of it..." She then sprinted after Minako. "Minako-chan! Minako-chan! Stop, would ya'!" Minako finally slowed down. "I was just wondering if you were ok. I mean really ok?" Minako looked at her. "No, not really.... It just hurts, that's all. I mean I just found out that I loved him and he loves me back and then this...." Minako shook her head sadly. "It just isn't fair! Shimatta! WHY??? Why did he have to do that?
Why did he have to save me? Why is he in that stupid hospital right now? Why isn't he awake yet?!!!" Minako then started sobbing out all the tears she held in and Makoto hugged her, calming her. "Doshite [why], Mako-chan? Doshite?" "I don't know why, Minako-chan..." Mako whispered.
Minako then sniffled and then looked up at her. "Mako-chan?" "Hmm?" "Could... uh... Would you spend the night at my house. I could get out a spare futon for you and-" "Sure, Minako-chan..." Minako smiled slightly. "Arigato..." Makoto smiled back. "Any time..."
Usagi was silently staring after Minako and Mako leave the hospital for the night. She knew Minako would come back tomorrow after school, well, if she went to school, that is. Usagi sighed and was about to start the dredge back to her house in the still wet weather. "Odango, wait! I'll walk you to your house!" Usagi stopped and turned around. "Iie, Seiya. Please let me go
alone...." Seiya stopped and stared at her glum face. "Ok, Odango..." Usagi smiled wanly. "Arigato..." She then put on her jacket and stepped outside. Seiya silently watched her go.
Usagi didn't want Seiya to go with her for the main reason that she wanted to know why she kept dreaming of Mamoru and Seiya. It seemed so strange. And what about that kiss she shared with Seiya...? 'Why does my heart feel so torn?!' Usagi silently asked herself. 'Why does it feel like... like I'm cheating on Mamo-chan, but I'm not? I mean all I did was dream about Seiya and I didn't even want him to kiss me in the first place!" But her brain whispered back, 'Oh, but didn't you Usagi-chan?' Usagi stopped. 'Maybe... maybe I did... somehow... And that kiss! It felt so... so... right and so wonderful! And as totally unlike Mamoru as I could get....' Usagi stopped. "Why am I thinking this? I haven't even kissed Seiya yet!!!" Usagi yelled out loud. She then bit her lip. 'What do I mean - yet? I'm not going to kiss Seiya! Am I crazy? I have Mamo-chan and that is all I ever need!' So then why did Usagi's heart wither with pain when she thought these words.
'Iie, Usagi-chan,' she murmured to herself. 'You can't like Seiya. You just can't!' But in Usagi's heart, she knew. She knew that she loved Seiya... but that she also loved Mamoru. Each in their own unique way. Each had something they possessed that could just make Usagi smile. Whether it be a rose or a song or just plain old charm. Usagi knew, as she knew her own name, that she
loved them both. Her heart felt torn between the two, trying to vainly make a decision. 'What do I mean - make a decision? I have Mamo-chan, and that is enough!'
'But is it...?' Another part of her brain asked her. 'Hai!' Usagi said. 'I have Mamo-chan and he is enough! But....' Usagi shivered and spoke out loud to herself. "But where is he now? Where is Mamo-chan?" And now Usagi's thought drifted to the dreams she was having. But in her dream Mamoru was alive one minute and dead the next.... And what about Seiya? And Galexia, too.
Usagi opened the door to her house, glad to be in the warmth and dryness. She took off her jacket, went to her room, and just huddled under her covers. She felt so confused all of a sudden. All these new emotions kept surfacing. Usagi just couldn't take it anymore. She closed her eyes and thought of nothing. Absolutely nothing, that is until she found herself facing another dream with another dead Mamo-chan reaching out his arm to her.... "Not again!!!!" Usagi cried out in her sleep. "Onegai.... Please, don't do this to me!" She then experienced the dream all over again and woke up in a sweat. Usagi's head fell back to the pillow, but her bloodshot eyes stayed awake until they could no longer and she finally was too exhausted to even dream anymore and fell into a deep slumber.
Seiya watched Usagi leave. "O... Odango..." he murmured quietly, sadly. Seiya then looked back at the hospital, deciding whether to stay with Yaten during the night or go home. Seiya finally decided to go home and _try_ to get some sleep and go back to the hospital before school started, if he was going to school, that is. He sighed and briskly walked back to the apartment.
Ami and Taiki kissed once more and slowly broke it. Taiki squeezed her hand. "Taiki..." Ami murmured. She then pecked him on the cheek before going back into the hospital, back to her mom. She watched Taiki leave. Her mom came up behind her. "Oh, so is that your boyfriend?" Ami looked up startled, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "Uh... uh... hai." Her mother smiled. "He's kawaii [cute]," she said giving Ami a quick wink before going to get her coat so they could leave and go home for the night.
Rei stood there, alone in the hospital. She sighed. Everyone left already. Rei quietly slipped into Yaten's room. She watched him from the shadows. "Yaten..." Rei murmured. She smiled to herself. "You know I had the hugest crush on you." Rei chuckled. "But, seeing Minako... and finding out what you did for her, I know she's the one you want... not me." Rei smiled lightly. "I just had to tell you that before..." Rei swallowed. "Before I didn't' have that chance anymore.." Her smile started to quiver a bit and she felt warmth spilling from her eyes. She then turned away, took a deep breath, and slipped out of his room as quietly as she came in. When Rei got back to the temple, it seemed everyone was asleep or gone. But then Yuuichirou came
out with a towel to hold over Rei's head so she wouldn't get wet. Rei smiled. "Arigato." she said gratefully. Yuuichirou smiled happily. 'He's kawaii when he smiles....' thought Rei, blushing slightly at the thought.
Throughout the night, the rain padded on the glass windows causing a gently melody to fall asleep to, but then there was a crash of thunder and a flash of lightning. Someone woke up quickly, covered in sweat.
"Iie [no]!" She cried out. "Princess!" She then started to glow and the symbol of Saturn appeared on her forehead. "Usagi-chan..." murmured Hotaru. "She's going to be in danger... soon. Very soon. Tokyo will become a battle ground and I will be needed to help protect the princess." Hotaru started glowing again and seemingly also started to age more.
Haruka came in sleepily. "Hota-chan, daijou bu [you ok]?" she mumbled, still half asleep. "Hai." said Hotaru. Haruka then rubbed her eyes. "Hotaru...? Have you gotten bigger...?" Haruka's eyes widened quickly. "You have!" She said, now more awake. "What happened?" Hotaru stared gravely at Haruka-papa. "The Princess will be in danger very soon...." "Usagi-chan?!" said Haruka as Setsuna peeked her head in. "What will happen to Usagi-chan?" Setsuna asked. Hotaru hugged her knees. "Gomen nasai [I'm sorry], but I don't know..." Setsuna nodded and closed her eyes briefly. A ghostly image of her Time Key appeared in front of Setsuna and she appeared to be transparent
for a moment. She opened her eyes slowly. "Iie..." Setsuna whispered, silently forming the words. "Nani?" asked Michiru coming in and setting Hotaru on her lap. Setsuna seemed rigid. "I cannot see the future. Something grave will happened indeed." Her words ominously repeated what Hotaru mentioned earlier.
Minako tossed and turned, but couldn't fall asleep. She pulled the covers around her more tightly, bunching them in her fists. She looked over at the serene Makoto, who slept peacefully. Minako sighed. "Yaten," she murmured sadly. Minako then got out of her bed and went to the window. The moon was shining brilliantly, shimmering down interstellar rays of light. Minako bathed in this light, imagining Yaten was beside her. Taking her hand. Caressing her hair, her face.... Minako shuddered. "Yaten....." she cried out to the night.
Mako woke up with a start. She thought she heard something. She glanced over at Minako, to find the girl was gone. Mako got up. "Minak-" She then saw Minako at the window, tears streaming down her face. "Minako-chan..." Mako whispered, going to her. She gathered Minako into her arms. "Shhh..." she whispered, stroking her hair, calming her. After Minako stopped crying, Mako led her back to her bed and tucked her in. "Oyasumi nasai [good night], Minako-chan." Mako said, before going back to the futon set up next to Minako's.
Ami woke up refreshed and ready for the new day. Then she remembered Yaten. Her shoulders slumped forward. She slowly got up, dressed, brushed her teeth, and had breakfast - the usual routine. Ami then went to call Taiki. She stopped. 'What if he's asleep?' Ami stopped, her hand on the receiver. 'Probably not with Yaten in the hospital and all...." Ami then started
punching in his number.
Taiki heard the phone ring. He stared at it for a moment before picking it up. "Moshi moshi." he said rather groggily and a little grumpily. "Taiki-chan?" asked Ami doubtfully. "Ami!" Taiki said, cheering up a little bit. "Did I wake you?" asked Ami, concerned. There was silence on the other end. "Taiki?" "Iie [no]..." finally came the reply. "Daijou bu [are you ok]?" More silence. "Iie..." "Taiki-chan, is there anything I can do? Anything in the world?" Taiki stared at the phone. "Do you want me to come over?" Taiki smiled a bit. "And see what a mess I am?" He chucked harshly. "Taiki-chan!" Ami said getting worried. "I'll come over. Is that ok? I'll be over in 20 minutes. Taiki... Taiki...?" Taiki finally mumbled, "Hai..." He hung up the phone and stared at it a bit longer. Today just felt like a dream, like something that never happened. And he just felt so empty inside... without Yaten up and around. 'I guess I do miss his sarcastic remarks he makes before we head off to school...' Taiki plopped down on the couch and promptly fell asleep from exhaustion and staying up all night from worry.
Ami knocked on the door. Knock knock knock. She paused and knocked again. No one answered. Ami checked to see if it was locked. It was. She sighed. 'Now what do I do?' Ami was just about to knock again when she felt herself being watched over. She then heard the bolt being unlocked and the door opened to reveal a haggard Seiya. "Ami-chan..." he said rather hoarsely. It seemed as if he aged a hundred years since Ami last saw him, which was yesterday. "Seiya, are you going to school?" Seiya shook his head. Ami nodded her head. "Taiki's over there," Seiya said, pointing to the couch. Ami smiled lightly. "Arigato." He nodded and shuffled over to his room, closing the door. Ami watched him go, then turned to Taiki, who was sprawled lifelessly on the couch. He looked just as bad as Seiya. Just taking one look at him, Ami knew she wasn't going to school. She had to stay with Taiki. Plus she was seven chapters ahead of the class - she'll be ok even if she missed a week of school!
Ami sat down next to Taiki and lightly moved away the hair in his face. Taiki moved a bit and murmured something to low to be heard by human ears. "Taiki..." whispered Ami helplessly. She brushed away a few more reddish brown hairs from his face and her hand stopped on his forehead. It was very hot. 'He must have a fever.' Ami looked around for a thermometer, but to no avail. She then went and got a wash cloth and wet it with cool water. This Ami placed over his forehead. She stayed by his side until he woke up a few hours later.
Usagi woke up slowly, and felt herself aching all over. She looked over at her chicken clock. It said 10:42. 'I'm late for school,' thought Usagi as she futilely tried to get up. Ikuko-mama came it. "You're finally up Usagi-chan. Do you feel ok?" Usagi moaned quietly. She couldn't get up. "I... I'm ok...." Her mother smiled with relief. "Why didn't anyone wake me to go to school?" Her mother's brow knotted. "You had a high temperature Usagi-chan. I thought it was better not to wake you..." Usagi smiled weakly. "Arigato..." "Do you want anything Usagi-chan? Would you like some breakfast?" Usagi shook her head weakly. She just wanted to go back to sleep. Her mother quietly left the room murmuring something about Usagi still being sick since she didn't want any food....
Mako looked at Minako. 'She had a very rough night. Better not wake her....' Mako then quietly and efficiently got into her school uniform and left for school. Minako opened one eye when she heard Mako leave. She jumped into some clothes that she could find. Any clothes. It didn't really matter. She put on shoes and hurried out of the house, heading for the hospital.
When Minako got there she went straight to Yaten's room. She pulled up a chair to the bed and took his hand. Minako then closed her eyes. "I hope this works.... It's got to... " Minako didn't know exactly how Usagi used the ginzuishou to bring people back or purify them. Usagi probably wasn't even too sure herself. But Minako didn't want to purify anyone or bring someone
back from the dead. She just wanted to try to talk with Yaten. Maybe wake him up.
Minako gathered all her power and sent it searching out like a prayer. She felt the symbol of Venus appear on her forehead and felt the warmth of it as she started to glow. Minako sent her power, her prayer, further and further out. She felt herself becoming taunt, like a rubber band before it snapped. Just before this snapping point Minako felt a response. It was like a quiver of light so dim that it could hardly be seen. But Minako didn't have to see it to know who it was - Yaten. Minako stretched further, feeling how drained he was. Yaten could hardly sustain himself. Minako felt herself pouring all of her love, her power, into the one she loved - Yaten. Felt all of it rush out of her like a slow blast of hot air. She felt herself being pulled even further and felt about how agonizing it was to her, but Minako didn't stop because it was helping Yaten. She felt searing pain, and then Minako was rushing back to her earthly body at an amazingly fast speed. She felt herself hit her body with a jerking impact, and then all turned hazy and Minako felt herself once again slip into oblivion.
Yaten slowly felt his body. It was as if he was numb and now he could feel. It was like being blind one day and the next he could see. Like one of those unexplained miracles. He slowly clenched and unclenched his fist. He slowly opened one eye. Then the other. Everything was so hazy. The room slowly came into focus. He looked around wondrously. "What... what happened?" Yaten said, happiness and surprise raiding from him. His eyes then fell onto Minako's lifeless form. She was slumped over, her head resting on the side of the bed. Her hand still in his. "Minako!" he said joyously. She didn't answer. She didn't even stir. "Minako...?" Yaten gently turned her over. "Minako?!" he said, brushing her hair away from her serene face. Her forehead
still had her Venus sign glowing across it. Yaten then stopped stiffly. His waking up wasn't an unexplained miracle. It was because of Minako! Yaten shook her. "Minako!" he cried out. "Minako!!!"
Dr. Mizuno came in. "Mr. Kou!" she said excitedly. "You're awake!" Dr. Mizuno stopped when she saw Yaten hugging Minako's limp form. "Minako-chan...?" She gently took Minako away from Yaten and set her down on a couch-like chair nearby. Yaten watched her examine Minako. He saw her bit her lip. Then turned to Yaten. Then back to Minako. Yaten. Minako. "What happened here?!" Dr. Mizuno finally exclaimed. "Nan desu ka [what is it]?" asked Yaten, worried. "It... it seems that Minako has gotten all your symptoms..... but how can that be... Ikaga [how]?" Dr. Mizuno then called out to some nurses. Yaten stared on blankly. 'Minako... Minako saved me...." Yaten got up and ripped out the IV tube stuck in his arm. He looked down at his hospital gown. 'That doesn't matter now, Minako does!' Yaten then quickly started following Dr. Mizuno who put Minako on a bed and was rushing her to an elevator.
Mako stared out of the window at the still bleak weather. She sighed. 'Maybe I should have stayed with Minako today, instead of going to school.' Mako then heard her name. She heard her name. "Kino-san? Kino-san?" Mako looked up. "Hai?" she said slowly. "Daijou bu?" Mako shook her head slowly. "Iie.... My... One of my friends was in an accident yesterday and he's in the
hospital right now and...." Her sensei nodded sympathetically. "Go..." She said. "Go to your friend. You're not going to get anything done today with your mind on him." Her sensei smiled lightly. Mako got up quickly, almost upsetting her desk. "Arigato!" she said as she ran out into the dark skies towards the hospital.
Usagi feverishly got up and wobbled around her room gathering clothes and brushing her teeth. She put on shoes and was out the door before her mom could protest. Usagi slowly made her way to the hospital feeling a little more refreshed from the rain that was peacefully pattering down to the ground. The drizzle of rain seemed to help sway her mind from Yaten and silently give her the serenity she needed to get through the day. Usagi made it to the hospital to find Yaten up, out of his hospital uniform, and pacing around like a caged lion. Seiya was right beside him as was Taiki and Ami. "Yaten-kun!" cried out Usagi, rushing to his side. She gave Yaten a huge hug. He tried to smile lightly, but his eyes remained bleak and worried. Usagi stopped. "Nani?" She looked around at all the grim faces. "Nan desu ka? Minna?!" Everyone looked at each other and finally Ami spoke up. "Minako-chan. She... she...." Ami paused and composed herself. "She used up all her power to wake up Yaten. Now she has all of his symptoms while
Yaten has none." Usagi felt her knees get wobbly and give out like Jell-O. She fell to her knees as Seiya ran to her. "Usagi!" he cried. Usagi felt her lip quivering. "When will it all end?" she whispered. Seiya then helped Usagi up. She leaned against him, still dizzy and wobbly on her feet. Seiya was secretly pleased, but he was too worried about Minako to show it.
Just then Makoto rushed in, holding a newspaper over her head so as not to get wet from the now pounding rain. Mako glanced back. "When will all this rain end? Maybe it's crying for Yaten-kun..." "Nice thought, but I think it's crying for Minako-chan..." Mako stiffened. "Y-Yaten?!" she cried out, disbelieving the image her eyes showed right in front of her. Yaten
braced himself for another hug and wasn't disappointed as Mako rushed into his arms. "We were all worried about you. Especially Minako-chan. She-" Makoto stopped when Yaten backed away slowly, biting his lip. "Nani?" Mako inquired. "Nani? Nani?!!" Ami was the one to step forward again as she explained what Minako did. Mako's brow knit. "Minako-chan..." She whispered.
Rei found herself wondering around Tokyo aimlessly. She felt confined and confused at school, so she left. Simple as that. But now where to go.... Rei slapped her head. "Baka!" She chided to herself. "Juuban Memorial!" Rei said as she started rushing in that direction.
Hotaru clenched her fist. She felt one of the planetary forces fading to almost nothing. She sent her thoughts out and received an image of Minako. "Venus..." Hotaru whispered. Setsuna looked up and slowly nodded. "Hai..." She whispered, acknowledging Hotaru. "The glitter of her planet is fading..." whispered Michiru. Haruka tightened her grip on Michiru's hand as she felt a
promotion of a wave of terror that was soon to approach Tokyo and the rest of the world. "Something is going to happen.... Something very soon...." Haruka murmured. Everyone else in the room grimly agreed with her.
Rei quickly rushed through the doors so she wouldn't get any wetter, but she was soaked anyway. "Rei-chan," Mako said. Rei looked up and instead of meeting Mako's green eyes, she met a pair of lighter green eyes. Pea green eyes. "Yaten...?!" Yaten sighed and nodded. Rei gave him a hug and Ami was still the one to tell what happened to Minako. Rei slumped down in a chair just as there was a flash of light.
It was Karasuma who told them that she knew who Sailor Moon was. First she shot a blast of power and everyone around Usagi froze, as if they were statues out of a wax museum, including the Inners and the Three Lights. Karasuma said that she got the information from Sailor Aluminum Siren's diary. Tears were seen in her eyes as she spoke these words. Then they
vanished and a devious smile was plastered on her face. She said slowly, "Tsukino Usagi iie Sailor Moon (or something to that effect)." Usagi grimaced. Karasuma ripped off her clothes and underneath was her animate outfit for Sailor Lead Crow. Usagi picked up her brooch and transformed.
Before Lead Crow could do anything else, Sailor Moon grabbed her tier and it started to glow, as did the crescent moon on her forehead. The Inners and Three Lights became unstuck. They took one look at Lead Crow and transformed. Lead Crow just turned to Usagi and asked for her starseed. Usagi stepped back. Lead Crow smiled and extracted something out of her bracelet - a small black hole. Everyone gasped. Mars then started yelling out her attack. "Mars Flame...."
WHAP! Lead Crow hit her whip out at Mars, striking her into a wall. Mars slumped down. Jupiter snarled and ran to her but was also hit back and came up next to Mars. Star Healer started her attack, but the whip came flying out at her and wrapped around her waist. Lead Crow pulled Healer forward and onto her knees. She asked for Usagi's starseed again. Usagi felt a tear running down her face. She finally complied, lowering her head in defeat. "Iie!' cried out Fighter as she tried to run to Usagi, but Maker held her back. Mars, Jupiter, and Mercury also cried out painfully. "Here!" Usagi cried as she held her arms out wide. Crow smiled evilly and shot Usagi. Usagi cried out in tearing anguish, a horrible thing to hear. A flower appeared above her forehead. It opened up to reveal a striking white starseed.
Lead Crow watched intently and noted with pleasure that it stayed white. It shone with such luminosity that filled the whole room up with brilliant light. Sailor Moon reverted back into Tsukino Usagi.
Lead crow stepped forward to receive her prize when a blast came out at her. It was Tin Nyanko. The black hole engulfed Crow and was going to swallow Usagi too.
"Usagi-chan!" Mars cried out. Usagi didn't move. "Usagi-chan!" cried out Mercury. "Onegai! Please please wake up!!!!" Usagi finally fell to her knees as the hole covered her body with what looked almost like black electrical charges. "Usagiiiiii!" cried Star Fighter. Usagi started glowing and there was a terrible explosion. All was silent and still.
"U-Usagi....?!" whispered Mars looking around, trying to spot Usagi. But Usagi wasn't to be found. "Usagi! Usagi!" Mars gasped when she looked heavenward, for there was a ghostly image of Princess Serenity with her eyes loosely closed. Mars bit her lip as she stared at, well through, Serenity, for Serenity was transparent!
Serenity started floating breezily away and came to Minako's hospital room. She stared down at her friend, one of her protectors. She brought out the ginzuishou in front of her and it started shining more vividly. Serenity became flesh again and the ginzuishou became even brighter. Suddenly it flashed quickly, covering Minako with a warm and vibrant luster. The Inners
and Starlights watched with awe.
Serenity floated there for a moment, surrounded in radiant and glittering light. Then fell down suddenly right next to Minako on her bed.
Minako's eyes fluttered open. She looked around silently at the senshi, then spotted Star Healer. "Yaten-chan." Minako whispered. Star Healer came forward, tears streaming down her face. Minako then noticed someone beside her. She turned and saw Serenity who flashed with color, then turned from Serenity back into Usagi. Minako bit her lip and felt tears come to her
eyes. "Usagi-chan." She murmured. "Not again. First Yaten-chan, the me, now Usagi." Minako stared at the Inners with fierce determination and loyalty. "Minna." She said. "Let's gather all our power to see if we can get Usagi to wake up, ne?" They nodded. Minako then got up out of the bed. "Venus Crystal Power. Make up!" she cried out transforming into (Super) Sailor Venus. She,
Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter got into a circle as the Starlights moved away into a corner and just observed.
The Inners closed their eyes loosely. Venus was the first to speak. "Venus Power!" "Mars Power!" "Mercury Power!" "Jupiter Power!" They all started glowing with their planetary deities and their tiaras faded into their planetary symbols. The Starlights watched with respectful awe.
Usagi started floating in their air and graced to the center of the circle. All the planetary colors intensified and combined into a clear and vibrant white which flowed freely into Usagi. Her back became arched as the power came into her. She then slowly drifted to the ground and landed gently, opening her eyes. The Inners collapsed. Healer ran to Venus and felt herself giving all the power lost back to Venus. Venus clasped Healer's hand. Maker went to Mercury and gave her strength. Mercury smiled weakly and her hand lightly caressed Maker on the cheek.
Fighter went to Usagi and stared at her. At her beauty. At her radiance. At her innocence. She pecked Usagi on the cheek and was about to turn away. Usagi's eyelids fluttered open. "Seiya" she whispered. Fighter turned, knelt down again, and gazed at her. Usagi brushed away loose strands of hair away from Fighter's face, her hand trailing down Fighter's face. Fighter caught Usagi's hand for a moment, then gently let go. Usagi got up shakily and her knees gave out. Fighter quickly caught her. Usagi smiled weakly but lightly shoved Fighter away and got up on her own two feet. She started walking out the door, but glanced back at Fighter, bit her lip, and continued out of the room.
Jupiter saw Usagi start to leave and she got up and untransformed. So did Mars. Mercury glanced once more at Maker, detransformed, and hurried after the bunch. The only one that stayed put was Venus and Healer. They were both kneeling on the ground, their hands clasped together. Fighter and Maker took one look at them and silently left the room.
Venus looked down and saw that she was still transformed, so she turned back into Minako. Healer did the same thing. Now Minako found herself staring intently into Yaten's eyes trying to figure out what to say. "Arigato..." she finally whispered out. "Thank you Yaten-chan...." Her voice was barely audible. "No.... thank _you_." A slight frown marred Minako's face. "For What?" she said. "You saved me." Minako shook her head. "Iie. You saved me. I didn't even see that truck coming until it was too late and then you... you..." Minako took a deep breath and smiled. "You saved me. You saved my life. It was only fair for me to try and help you in return." "Yeah, but because of it, I came out of a coma and you went into one. Plus... I really
didn't mean to say thank you for that - I wanted to thank you because you gave me a precious gift. Minako, you taught me how to care. You taught me how to care for someone. Care _deeply_. I... I've never felt this way before. It was like... like if you did get hit by that truck, I would never have forgiven myself. So I did the only thing I could do." Minako felt a tear come to her eye. "Oh, Yaten." she whispered. And then was in his arms. It was as simple as that. All fear and doubts and worries cast aside for the moment so they could just be. Could just live in that moment for as long as they could, before their senshi duty caught up with them and once again demanded sacrifices from them.
Yaten and Minako stayed that way for a long time, as long as they could. Embracing each other. Thinking of the here and now and not worrying what tomorrow shall bring, because knowing without a shadow of a doubt that no matter what tomorrow _did_ bright, they could face it. Together.
Awww! How sweet! Yaten and Minako are finally together, but the question is - for how long? *evil laughter inserted here* Stay tuned and find out.....
