I found some nice music that fits the mood of this part of the fic. It's a RealPlayer file though. It's Ginga Isshinbun Chigai Nakatta Omoi (Music Box version) and to listen while you're on the net (streaming) you can go here http://members.xoom.com/odango/stream/gingabox.ram or to download it go here http://members.xoom.com/odango/gingamusicbox.ra
It's taken off of a site called Seiya and Usagi - the addy for it is http://thor.prohosting.com/~usako/seiya/ and it's run by a friend of mine - Usako. She's very sweet and it's a great shrine to the two. ^_^
Now onto the conclusion of my fan fic!
Past Reflections and Present Emotions V (Epilogue)

Seiya rushed up the staircase when he heard the news. The Queen was dying. She was on her death bed!
He thought of all the good times they had. He remembered her when he first saw her. A beautiful angel with energy positively radiating from her. Such beauty. Such innocence.
He shook his head, trying to rid himself of that thought. That person, was not the queen. That person was Tsukino Usagi, Sailor Moon. Not Princess Serenity nor Neo-Queen Serenity. And she is gone. She has been gone for a long time now. And he loved her. And he also loved Serenity, too. But Usagi had possessed something that Serenity doesn't have any more. There were so many things that were different about them. Especially their eyes. Though it might be the same color. The same shade of the clearest morning blue, something was missing in Serenity's eyes that Usagi always seemed to have. Innocence. Pure, and maybe even blind faith in others.
A tear slipped down Seiya's cheek at the memory. A lonely tear for a lost memory. He took in a deep breath. Life was so hard without Usagi. She was the true person that he loved. And he gave so much up for her. For Usagi. For Serenity.
After Serenity battled Galexia, Seiya remembered her words to him, "We can learn to love once again... together." And Seiya got trapped in the beauty of her gaze. And he knew. He knew that he would come back. Come back for her. But he had to leave now. Leave with Princess Kakyuu. Go rebuild their home planet again, before coming back. But he would come back. And so would Taiki. And so would Yaten. They would return for the ones they loved.
So they left. And were separated from their loves. And then they came back. Came back to an unfamiliar planet and an foreign place called Crystal Tokyo, where Juuban used to be. And the loves they knew and remembered - Usagi, Minako, Ami, seemed to be gone forever. Usagi was Serenity. Neo-Queen Serenity. Such a sad and burdened Neo-Queen Serenity. Super Sailor Mercury wasn't the Mercury, the Ami, that Taiki left behind. She had changed. Minako had changed. They all had. That was what time had done to them. Change them. Everything was different now. All the Senshi were so different. So very different. So... sad. That was the plain truth of it. They, as well as Serenity, had sacrificed their happiness for the world. They gave up their whole life to become a Sailor Senshi. Regrets were always around the corner. Of what they could have done. Could have become. They all were famous as the Sailor Senshi, but that was never anyone's wish. Deep down inside, they all wanted a normal life, just like Usagi. A normal life. And look what happened to Usagi.
In the beginning, being Sailor Senshi was a hobby of sorts. But it became more demanding. It turned into a job. And now... now all it was, was life. Plain and simple. Such a tragic life. But... someone had to do it. Right? For the sake of the world.
Seiya clenched his fist. Oh, how he wanted to take away all that sadness and hurt in Serenity's eyes. Make them innocent again. Open to the world. Turn her into Usagi. But that would never be. Oh, Serenity and Seiya tried to learn to love again. And they did love each other. It was a successful marriage, but... There is always a but. But Serenity's heart belonged to Endymion's. And Seiya's to Usagi. So, it seemed more of a political marriage, instead of a romantic one. And with that marriage came some huge responsibilities. Huge burdens.
For you see, Seiya became the King. The King of Crystal Tokyo. A title he possessed, but not one he truthfully wanted. Because Neo-Queen Serenity governed Crystal Tokyo, not Usagi. And Usagi was the one he loved. But Usagi gave up her life for Serenity. For Princess Serenity to become Neo-Queen Serenity. A hard choice, Seiya knew, but one Usagi had no power over. It would have happened anyway. No matter what.
But he was dwelling in the past again, wasn't he? And here he was, on his way to Neo-Queen Serenity. To her bed chamber. Because she was dying.
Seiya rushed into the room, panting lightly from rushing up all those stairs. He met eyes with analytical blue. Ami. "Ami, how is she? Is there anything we can do to save her?" Ami looked down. "Iie... Seiya-san." She murmured. It was hard to break the news to a King that his Queen was dying. "Call me Seiya-chan, ok? Like you used to. I've told you this before, Ami." Seiya tried to give a smile, a wobbly smile. "Hai, Seiya-san, I mean Seiya-chan..." He then faced the Queen. Seiya went to her side and looked down at the sleeping beauty. "All the other Senshi have already made amends, so no one will disturb you now." Ami started to leave, but stopped. She slowly turned around. "Gomen nasai, Seiya-chan... It must have been hard for you all these years... All these lonely years without Usagi." Seiya looked up. "Arigato gozaimasu, Ami-chan. It was hard..." She went to Taiki who was standing in the doorway. He gently put his arm around her shoulder and led her out, while giving Seiya a sorrowful glance at the door.
Ami sighed next to Taiki. "Ami-chan, daijou bu [are you ok]?" "Hai..." she murmured. " I just didn't want to tell Seiya that... well... Serenity is withering away and she has completed her job of ruling over Crystal Tokyo, and she is dying because she doesn't have much of a reason to live anymore. She wants to go back to Mamoru-san." Taiki nodded, suspecting as much. He kissed her lightly on the lips. "I think Seiya already knows..."
Seiya knelt by the bed and took Serenity's hand. He eyes lightly fluttered open. "Seiya..." she whispered, her voice no louder than a morning breeze. "Serenity." He responded. "How are you?" He asked. Serenity looked at him serenely. "I'm... fine." She laughed lightly, like chiming bells coming from a distance. "Well... as fine as I could be for someone who is dying." She laughed again. Seiya just looked at her, imagining Usagi. Somehow there seemed to be some of Usagi still left in her. Some how. Some way. "Can I get you anything, Serenity? Anything at all?" Her face took on a wistful glow. 'What? What do you want me to get?" She looked at him, her eyes wide. "Can you get me.. a... a red rose?" Seiya nodded. "Of course." He quickly left the room.
Serenity watched him go. Watched him leave to go get a red rose from the gardens outside. She smiled to herself. How ironic. A red rose to symbolize Endymion, as it also symbolizes Seiya. She felt soft and warm; at peace. Something was merging within her soul. Something familiar. "Oh." She gasped. She knew who it was. It was her former self, Tsukino Usagi, who had returned for her Mamo-chan. Neo-Queen Serenity was now both Princess Serenity and Tsukino Usagi combined. She saw a red rose forming in her mind. A perfect red rose. A perfectly stunning red rose. Not a petal withered or out of place. Mamo-chan's red roses. The roses he gave to her were always perfect. She smiled at the comforting thought. His voice seemed to be echoing in her mind. "Usako..." Oh, how she missed him. All those years without him... Her face softened at the memories that Mamoru brought on.
Seiya rushed in the room with a single red rose. A beautiful red rose, but not perfect. Almost perfect. But not quite. He stopped mid track though, when he saw Serenity. Her face has such a look of yearning on it. Such love. Such... innocence. "Usagi..." Seiya murmured. Serenity smiled up at him as he gave her the rose. She inhaled the sweet fragrance, closing her eyes. For a moment, a tremor passed through her body. "Usagi!" Seiya cried out. He finally saw Usagi in Serenity's eyes. Finally. After all this time, Seiya finally saw Usagi again. Just for a moment. That set his heart at peace. Now was Serenity's time for peace. She deserved it.
Serenity let out a silent gasp. The red rose slipped to the floor, unnoticed. She then smiled beautifully, radiantly. And as her eyes closed for the last time, words were heard coming from with her mouth. Words to set her free. "I'm coming... Mamo-chan... I'm coming back to you!"
