Malaysian Recipe for Sweet Peanut Broth (Thor Tau Ting)

INGREDIENTS

  • 300g peanuts (shelled & skinned)
  • 150g sugar
  • 2 litres water
  • 2 pandan leaves (knotted)

To prepare:

  • Wash peanuts well with cold water then rinse till water is clear
  • Soak peanuts in water for at least 30 minutes
  • Using a large pot, boil the water, sugar and pandan leaves
  • Add in peanuts
  • Simmer everything for at least 30 mins or till peanuts become soft
  • Serve warm with Chinese crullers (Yow Char Kway)

TIP: You can buy ready-made Chinese crullers from any Asian store. These crullers should be consumed within a day.
