Free Asian Recipe for Cooking Indian Paneer ( Cottage Cheese )

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 litres milk
  • 90 ml/ 6 tbsp lemon juice (vinegar - optional)

To prepare:

  • In a pot, put milk to boil
  • Just before it reaches boiling point, add lemon juice or vinegar to curdle the milk
  • Strain the curdled milk through a muslin cloth
  • Allow all whey and moisture to drain
  • Place still wrapped paneer under a weight for about 2 to 3 hours
  • Allow paneer to set into blocks
  • Cut cottage cheese into blocks and store
TIP: Paneer can also be grated and sprinkled on top of most curries.
