Worlds Apart: Part One
Serena eyes filled with tears as she thought about how the day had gone.
The tears kept coming no matter how hard she tried to stop, it was like
a faucet that was leaking, and the repair man had not come to fix it yet.
*****flashback to what happened that day*****
Darien was sitting alone on the bench at school, watching the other
people run around during lunch. Serena saw how unhapppy he was and
decided to try and cheer him up. Pasting a smile on her face and mustered
all the courage she had, she approached him cautiously as if he would
bite or something.
"Ummmm... hey Darien! How come your here all by yourself? You should be
playing basketball with you friends. Do you want to tell me what’s
wrong?"
"No, just go away, I don’t want to talk to you right now."
"You know, sharing your problems with someone else always makes you feel
a little bit better and relieved.......plus i bet i can relate to
whatever problem your haveing right now........."
"NO!!!! You can’t relate, you have the perfect little life, with the
perfect little friends, with the perfect grades, the perfect family!!!!!
*You* have no idea whatsoever what I’m going through!! I don’t see your
parents getting divorced, I don’t see your mother moving out, so don’t
say that you can relate to shit!!!," and with that, he ran behind the
building, leaving Serena wide eyed and shocked and a solitary tear than
ran down her cheek.
*****flashback ends*****
Serena cried even harder, her pillow now drenched with her salty tears.
Exhausted, she fell aslepp, dreaming about the way that she was
treated...................
**********************The next day in school**********************
"Tommy, your such a good friend, I can’t believe how I cam spend a day
without you....." Serena said to her guy best friend, who she knew since
preschool. She had just finished explaining what had happened the day
before, starting with how Darien had totally blew up at her, and ending
by telling him how she had soaked her whole pillow crying about what
happened.
"Well, you did spend days without me before, let’s see, there was the
time when I had to go to the dentist, the time when I was home sick-"
"Tommy you know what I mean!!!" She started laughing along with her
blond hair friend. They were both spending their lunch time under a
shady tree.
"So, who’s the lucky girl that you like now, huh?"
"Well, you already know one of them, but I suddenly started liking this
other girl. I’m not sure if you know her, but her name’s Lita-" Before
Tommy could even finish, Serena squealed with delight.
"Ooooh yah, she’s in my english class. She’s a terrific cook, have you
ever tried her brownies? They are soooooo good, you don’t understand,
there are like really really good."
"Okay Sere, I get the point. You and your stomach, don’t you think about
anything else?," he replied with a chuckle.
"Yah, lets see I also think about Darien, Darien, Darien, sometimes you
but not much, Darien, Darien, did I mention Darien?" They both laughed
at her answer.
"Okay okay, now stop laughing, So who do you like most between those two
girls?" Serena asked, then made her voice deep, and tried to sound like
a game show host. "Welcome to the dating game! Today we will see, who
Mr. Tommy will chose to be his significant other. Will it be bachlorette
number one? Raye, who is little miss popularity, who all the guys have
had a crush on her at least once in their life, or bachlorette number
two? Lita, a great cook, who is Serena’s favorite pick, hint hint, who
also great in sports. So who will it be, drum roll please?"
"Serena cut it out! Neither of them like me............."
"Oh, come on, what not to like, your nice, really nice, and cute in your
own little way, nice, kind, nice!"
"Are you sure you didn’t use *nice* enough times?," Tommy said with a
little grin.
"Oh shoot, the bell rang, we better get to class. Your going to walk me
home today right?"
"Yup yup!"
"Well, see you after school!" And with that, they both ran to their
different classes.

Serena was inturrupted
from her thoughts as her best friend Mina passed a note to her.
Pretending to stretch her arms, so the teacher wouldn’t see, she reached
for the note.
~Hellooooooo!!! Earth to Serena!!! Gosh Sere, he may be cute, but there
are more important things than him, in example ME!!!! j/k So, your
definetly going to the Washington D.C./ New York trip that the school is
having right? Well, I’m definetly going, think about all the cute guys
that are going to be there!!

Serena took out her favorite pen and started writing away.
~Mina, how can you think about other guys? You already have Andrew and
he is so totally hot! Anyways, I already old you what Darien said to me
right? Gosh, I don’t know what to do!!! I like him so much, but he
doesn’t see, to even notice me!! So little miss matchmaker, and advice?

P.s. I am totally going to the trip, and so is eeveryone else in our
eighth grade, I can’t wait for the Broadway play thing, you know that
the guy asks the girl to sit with them through that and they sit through
dinner together right? I hope that Darien asks me............~
After Serena managed to get the note to Mina without Mrs. Jacobson
noticing, Mina read the note and gave Serena a sly smile.
~The bells going to ring any minute, so I’ll give you advice and stuff
later, but let me just tell you, that he’s not the only one that you can
be with, hint hint, look to your right.....~
Serena turned her head to the right and saw Jason staring at her. He
quickly turned away, but Serena still saw a little blush come across his
cheek. She looked back down, looking at the note agaon.
~yup, I heard that Jason has a major crush on you, and he’s thinking
about asking you out. Well, talk to you at the end of class!!!!
Mina~
Serena put the note away, and a few minutes later, the bell rang. They
had fifteen minutes to talk because it was a short break.
"Mina, who did you hear that Jason liked me from????" Sernea asked after
pulling her to a secluded area.
"Call down Sere, Andrew told me."
"Yah, like you can trust what Andrew says!"
"Well, it’s also kinda obvious, the way he stares at you all the time."
"Hellooooooooooooo!!! He has a girlfriend, who by the way is little miss
popularity!"
"Don’t worry, I heard he was going to break up with her soon."
"It doesn’t really matter, I like Darien......"
"I also know who else you like...." Mina said with a little grin.
"Who? If you know, you better tell me, cause I sure don’t know who else
I like!!"
"Tommy!!"
"Tommy??????"
"You spend so much time with him, and you guys are always flirting!"
"I do not flirt with him! He is my best friend, guy best friend I
mean....."
"Whatever you say, don’t have to get all defensive or anything. He is
pretty cute though......"
"YES he is, now are you happy??? Can we go to class now, before we get
detention, besides, Tommy is waling me home today, so I can’t be late!"
"Ooooo la la!!" Mina replied with a big smile and a wink wink, and they
made their way to the next class.

The next class was a class that Serena hated. Science, yes science. This
was also the only class that Lita, Tommy, Raye, her, Mina, Darien, Amy,
Greg, Jason, and Andrew were all in together. As the teacher came in, he
looked very tired.
"Okay class, quiet down! I have some really bad news, I am behind on
some tests that need to be graded so unfortunately, you guys have free
period."
Everybody in the class pretended to be sad about that, though inside
they were overjoyed. The group, gathered into a group.
"Okay guys, what do you guys want to do?" asked Amy. Amy was one of
Serena’s good friends, and also Tommy’s good friend also. Serena always
asked her for her opinion, and went to her for things that she couldn’t
seem to tell Mina or Tommy. Serena also envied her for her smartness and
her great realtionship with her boyfriend Greg.
"How about Truth or Dare?" Raye suggested. Everone seemed to agree to
that idea, so that’s what they did. Mina asked Jason first.
"Okay Jason, Truth or Dare?"
"Um......Dare."
"Hmmmm.........hold on, let me think of something...........alright, I
dare you to kiss Serena, for as long as you would like." Mina said with
a smile on her lips that seemed to get bigger.
"Wait!! Your going to have to think about another dare Mina cause
um...................he..........um.....he..he had a girfriend!!!"
Serena exclaimed, thinking that she had gottonn herself out of it. Until
Raye spoke up.
"No, really I don’t mind." Raye said. Serena was getting desperate,
looked at Jason, who was blushing, she looked at Darien who had a blank
look on his face, and she finally turned to Tommy, who looked kind of
mad, but it didn’t look like she could do anything to get out of the
dare. Finally, she just agreed. She slowly stood up, and Jason made his
way ti her, closing the space that was between them. He liked the dare
actually, because he had always wanted to kiss her, but he didn’t want
to hurt Raye’s feelings by breaking up with her. He kissed her, and it
seemed to last forever to him, finally breaking away, leaving them both
breathless. Everyone seemed to be smiling, except Raye, who had a blank
look, Darien, who also seemed to keep a blank look, and Tommy, who seemed
to be a little angry, but there was hurt in his eyes, though nobody noticed.
Lita cleared her throat, breaking the silence that had formed. Serena,
embarrased, took her seat again that was in between Tommy, and Amy.
"Hey, Jason, it’s your turn to ask someone Truth or Dare." said Greg.
"Huh? Oh yah, okay, hmmmm......................Tommy, Truth or Dare?"
Tommy was about to take Dare, but didn’t want to risk the chance of
having to kiss someone.
"Truth."
"Okay, um......who do you like a little more than a friend?"
Tommy’s eyes became wide, but he tried to keep his composure.
"No one, I don’t like anyone right now."
Mina spoke up. "Yah right, everyone likes someone in every point of
their life, so tell the truth!!!" Everyone seemed to agree woth her,
except himself, Serena, who kept quiet, and Amy. Finally Tommy gave in,
and told them who he liked.
"rayeandlita" he muttered quietly.
Everyone said in unison. "WHAT? You’ll have to speak louder than that
for us to understand what you just said."
"Okay okay, Raye and Lita!"
Everyone was stunned except Serena and Amy. What happened next,
surprised every single on of them. Raye’s reaction was the worse. She
fell out of her chair!!! She was so surprised that she fell on her butt.
Lita’s reaction to the answer was just plain old shock. Her mouth was so
wide open that you could have probably fit a bowling ball in it, and her
eyes were big in disbelief. After silence took over, and the shock wore
off, Raye spoke first.
"Um..... Tommy, I’m flattered that you feel that way, and maybe if I
wasn’t with Jason I would go out with you, but right now, I just can’t.
I’m sorry................" Raye’s voice trailed off.
Jason thought
"Well, Tommy, I also agree with Raye, cause you see, I already have a
boyfriend, but he doesn’t go to this school....." Lita replied.
"So Tommy, I guess your not going to announce the third girl you like
huh?" Ami said.
"Third person? Tommy you never told me about a third person?????" Serena
replied, with a touch of hurt in her voice.
"I’m sorry everyone, I am not going to say who the third person is. I
don’t think I could take her reaction. I mean, could you guys? I only
say two, and one falls out of her chair and another on looks at me as if
I’m crazy or something. Can we just move on to another person? Please?????"
Everyone agreed that Tommy already went through enough, and that they
should move on to someone else. Tommy moved on to Darien.
"Okay, Darien, Truth or Dare?"
"Truth"
Thinking that he could do Serena a favor, he asked "Who do you like
right now?"
Darien hesitated, but said, "Raye, I like Raye."
Serena was about to burst into tears, but managed to control herself,
"Does anybody in tthis school not like Raye??????" she said a little to
loudly, but didn’t really care. Tommy turned to her and mouthed, "I’m sorry"
Serena turned to Mina who gave her a sympathetic look. Darien, didn’t
notice how Serena acted, his eyes were focused on Raye, who looked VERY
uncomfortable. He sighed, and asked Serena Truth or Dare.
"Huh? Truth......no, Dare.....wait Truth."
"Okay, who do *you* like?"
Serena didn’t really feel like answering that question, but seeing no
other choice, she yelled out "YOU, I like you, happy????" and with that,
she ran out of the room. Tommy and Mina left the room to chase after
her.
"I...had no idea she felt that way....." Darien said quietly, close to a
whisper..............

waaaaaaaaaaay more interesting. This fanfic will probably be 4 parts or
more long, and in the next chapter it will answer the questions: What
will happen to them during the trip to Washington D.C./New York? Will
Jason break up with Raye even though he knows that Serena doesn’t have
feelings for him? Will Tommy reveal the third girl that he likes? And
