Nobody before him or after him Has ever had this esteem honour bestowed upon him by The Grace of Allah(swt), to be born in The Sacred House of God, The Most High

His position in Islam Is most unique and as being dignified in all its greatness.

He was

pious and God-fearing. In his personality so many contrasting facets had so gathered that it was difficult to believe that a human mind could manifest such a combination. It is said that scholars produce students and not followers. Socialist create followers and not a complete man. Ascetics teach submission and not fighting, but in Imam Ali we find the characteristics of a scholar, an ascetic, and that of a Prophet (S). His school was the school of intellect and thought. The school of revolution, submission, discipline, goodness, beauty, ecstasy and movements. Throughout his life he was harmonized equilibrated being. He had gathered together the perfections of humanity. He possessed a deep and far reaching mind, tender and over flowing affection. He had both perfection of body and perfection of spirit. When he prayed at night, he cut himself off from everything else. And during the day people saw his kindness and altruism and listened to his advice, counsel and wise words. At night the stars looked down on the tears of his worship and the heavens heard his prayers of love.

He was

both learned and wise, he was both a Gnostic and a leader of society. He was both, a man who denied his self, and a soldier. He was both a judge and a worker, a speaker and a writer. In sum he was a perfect man in all it?s senses and all its attractions. He was a scion of a very illustrious rich and noble clan. Yet he ate, dressed and lived like a poor person. He himself grinded barley for his own bread and had given strict orders that nothing should be added to his bread, and even chaffs and husk were not separated from the flour of his bread.

His excellent attributes are of a great number

He was brought up and taught by The Holy Prophet Mohammad (s) himself

He was the first to become Muslim

In Imam Ali's relation to 'the Truth', The Prophet (s) said:

"Ali is with the Truth. And the Truth is with Ali!"

He was of the noblest birth - both mother and father were Hashimites.

He was the only divinely authorized witness and attestor that Muhammad is the Messenger of God

He was first man to offer prayer after the Holy Prophet.

He was the only one to offer assistance to the Prophet on the occasion of Dawat-e-Asheera.

When the Prophet was engaged in battle he was standard bearer; when not, he was always the commander.

He was the real warrior who succeeded in killing all his adversaries.

He was designated "Aaron of the second Moses."

Only Ali and the Prophet could enter Masjid under the obligation of a bath.

Like the Holy Prophet, Ali was bestowed upon by miracles; for example, on two occasions he made the sun come back when it had already set.

He was known as The lion of Allah

He was just in all his dealings with all the people.

He treated all the people equally without discrimination.

He never indulged himself in the worldly materials and of it's luxuries.

He would enter the Bayt Al-Mal (Public Treasury) and would look at all the gold and silver stored and with indifference, and would address them by saying,

"White and yellow, is an attraction to the people, but not so with me!"

In short

"The Holy Imam Ali Ibn Abu Talib was very much like The Holy Prophet (s) himself, in his virtuous attributes.

For this reason Allah, The Most High(swt), in His Wisdom had considered Ali in the Holy Quran Al-Kareem as:

'The Soul'

of The Holy Prophet Mohammad Al-Mustafa (s)".

For the Last Prophet Muhammad and Imam Ali
O man of morals sublime
To the distant land we heard your call.
The rancorous crusaders tried but failed
In bid to mar your sacred fame.
For even now in Christendom-
In the very heart of Christendom-
A muazin echoes your name.
Thy valiant cousin did the fort of Kaibar take.
His noble deeds did but history make.
Lion of Allah! Asad-Ullah!
A thousand years may have gone by
Yet thy faithful Shias
with Ya Muhammad, Ya Ali Will ever cry.
