Tasuki: The Wings

Tasuki is the cheeky mountain bandit that joins the Suzaku seven. His weapon of choice is an iron fan that shoots fire when he yells "Lekka Shien!", thus making him incredibly powerful. His Suzaku symbol is located on his right forearm. He conceals it much of the time, but when it does show, it looks like this:

The wings could be viewed many ways with Tasuki. Suzaku is essentially a phoenix, or firebird, and Tasuki's flame could be interpreted as Suzaku's wings. His adventurous heart, soaring like a lark through all situations, could be another interpretation. Regardless, Tasuki is a free spirit, and this alone is enough to make him the wings.

Tasuki's life-changing event actually happened during the "present," that is to say, it happened in the middle of the story. He was the next in line to be the boss of the mountain bandits, but the old boss died when Tasuki was adventuring. Another member of the gang took over and appropriated the iron fan for himself. When Tasuki came back, there was no way to take leadership without defeating the usurper. The priestess of Suzaku, Miaka, decided to help him, although Tasuki had taken her hostage. After seeing her sweet nature, always wanting to do the right thing, Tasuki decided to go with her as a member of the Suzaku seven. Once the usurper was defeated, he took back the fan and appointed his best friend Koji as the leader in his absence.

The wings that are TasukiBoshi is represented in the sky by the stars that make up Crater. Tasuki fits this description, if the Cup of Apollo is filled with strong wine! Even in the most desperate situations, Tasuki is a brash, brazen fellow, with absolutely no fear. He livens up the dullest crowd, and brings the strongest to their knees. Arguably the strongest member of the Suzaku seven, this "cup" definitely "runneth over" . . . with a great big shot of attitude!

"Whattya mean you want to go on? Lekka Shien!!!!"
