My very first try at a totally glammed-up Bulma and Vejita picture led to a strange concept in fanart: how about putting
the DB crew in fashion ads? Better yet, couture ads!

     For inspiration, I turned to the late Gianni Versace's
stunning ad campaigns (with the collaboration photo virtuoso Richard Avedon) that popped up in the pages of Vogue and Harper's back in 93/94/95. Most of these have now been compiled in nice, big coffee table books that I heartily recommend (for one, check out "The Naked and the Dressed" by Versace/Avedon, published by Random House at you local Barnes & Noble ^^). You may not care a straw about fashion, but you just might like what you see ^^ --- So this, my friends,  was pretty much how the "Portraits" project started brewing in my mind ^^

     Anyhow, here our lovely model Bulma is wearing a sheer (almost completely sheer ^.^) purple gown (heh, favorite color, favorite couple, I'm putting all the odds on my side for this first picture) greatly inspired by turn of the last century's Art Nouveau muses, such as the ones you find in Alfons Mucha's work. I thought a little slave Saiyajin Prince would make for a nice touch---ahem, forget I ever said that. And Vejita, please don't kill me ^^;
