This webring is meant to be a fun way to get to know other military families around the world... through their pets! If you have a webpage for, about or by your family's pet AND you are a military family, then you can join this ring. The pet should have their own page (they can share with other pets, and can certainly link to their people's pages, though). Pet pages should be appropriate for viewers of all ages :-)
Please note that everything has changed now that the Yahoo yahoos have taken over Webring... oh how I long for the good old days, when Yahoo was a (good) search engine, and Webring and Geocities were owned by Webring and Geocities!!! But we are stuck in the here and now, so:
To attempt to submit your pet site for consideration to be added to the Military Pets Ring, please go here. This link takes ME directly to a form page, but then I am already a Yahoo slave... if the link doesn't work for you, PLEASE let me know. After you fill out the information on your pet site, and submit the form, you should be sent an e-mail to confirm your submission... This e-mail no longer contains the coding (see below) for the webring link and graphics, though it does contain the code for an unnecessary "power bar". You don't need to install that. See this, from Yahoo:
WebRing News 10/16/00 Yahoo! WebRing is pleased to announce big news: We will not require RingMasters to replace the existing HTML fragments with the server-side navigation bar, ever. Rings that were established prior to September 5, 2000 that use the original WebRing HTML fragment will not be required to replace that code with the server-side navigation bar, now or in the future. We will serve the HTML fragment as we currently do and will not require a code replacement. Your Ring will continue to operate as it always has. RingMasters will not have to ask all members to replace the code, and we are not requiring RingMasters to replace the Ring logos and fragments that they have put so much work into.
HOWEVER... and this is important... I no longer get a copy of your code to apply to your page, nor do I know your site number (pretty poor setup I know, when the webring master isn't even informed about something as basic as a site number!!! What can I say???). I suggest that you print out the e-mail and anything else you get.
Please note that your site is NOT yet in the ring. The next step is to add the proper HTML links to your page, then e-mail me donella@bigfoot.com . I'll check your page and coding, and if everything is good to go, I'll add you to the ring!
Ok... on my Yahoo-Geocities site, I don't seem to be able to "save" page while showing the coding for you... and yes, I do know how, it just won't save... it's gotta be a conspiracy! You will have to view the source for this page, and then copy and paste the code... if you can't do that, contact me and I can e-mail it to you! I know, it's a pain :-( You need to have a little/basic understanding of HTML to add this to your page, as you need to go through it and change the site and e-mail info to your info... for the site number (shown here as 1- that's my Oliver's site... I'll give you a number to replace this 1 with; there will be six numbers to replace) or other questions, e-mail me :-)
