1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup shortening (or butter or margarine)
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Gradually add flour, soda and salt, then add vanilla flavoring. Knead dough, roll out on floured surface, and cut with biscuit cutter or glass tumbler. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes until done. Spread out on plate to cool.
