My mother sent 2 blankets and 2 booties with her, but they were probably never received. My sister's adoption was very private to keep my grandparents from all embarrassment they would have received from there town. My mother was originally from Salmon, Idaho. Her parents took her to Pocatello, Idaho to have a mid term abortion, but the doctor said he could not do it. He then said he knew of a family that wanted to adopt. The doctor spoke with my grandparents and made arrangements for my mom to live in Bountiful, Utah with complete strangers until my sister was born. When my mom had my sister, my mom thought that the family that she had been staying with was going to adopt my sister, but another couple adopted my sister, but we don't know anything about them. The adoption was handled by a private attorney. ! When the attorney came in, he told my mom that another attorney would be involved since my sister had to be taken over state lines for adoption. This leads us to believe that she was taken back to Idaho for adoption, although it could have been any state. I have requested my sister's OBC from Utah, but all I received back was an official document, with a Utah State seal on it, stating that there was no file for her in Utah.
