Sisters of Compassion.

Leader

Neilja

I am a 49 year old divorced mother of two sons and the grandmother of two beautiful boys. I was born in the Virgin Islands, grew up in New York City and moved to Los Angeles, CA almost 20 years ago, where I currently reside with my two rottweilers. In November, 1981 I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour. What time not spent as a prayer intercessor or doing His will, is spent just enjoying life in general. For many years I worked in the motion picture industry and was very fortunate to have traveled worldwide and continue to travel every opportunity I get. Somehow I'm still able to squeeze in a considerable amount of time on the internet (and enjoy every moment of it). Though it was rather difficult at times (having been a single mom for almost 26 years), I was blessed with a very good life filled with a loving family and truly outstanding friends. I am a born optimist who firmly believe it's important that I always remain extremely sensitive to others. I will hurt when you hurt...I will laugh when you laugh. I extend to you my hand in friendship, a confidential ear, arms to embrace you in a big hug and a shoulder to cry on whenever needed. And, by the way in case you wondered, my name is pronounced 'Neel-ya'.

My son, Eric started going to the Baptist Church when he was in Jr. High and was saved. I started going and accepted Jesus as Lord of My Life. I love the Victorian Period, love to read, tole paint (have even sold quite a bit), play cards with Mom and have family gatherings. Cecil and I have a big family! Cecil has 5 sisters and their families, I have one brother and his family, our 5 children and seven grandchildren. We all live close enough together to have many get togethers. If you ever need a friend to cry with, to laugh with or just to have a good conversation with, please don't hesitate to contact. me.

Misty

My name is Maudean Kearney and I was born in Mississippi.  I went into Federal Civil Service when I was 18 years old and into the NAVY WAVES when I was almost 20.  I was training at Hunter College in New York when I met my, soon to be husband, Allan (Al) Kearney.  We dated for 6 months and were married in the Little Church Around the Corner in New Your City.  He got out of the Navy and went to work on the Mississippi River as Tug Boat Operator.  When the Korean War started, they called him back into the Navy.  After the Korean War, Al joined the Air Force were he served until he retired and I retired from Federal Civil Service.  We were too young to quit work so we moved to Mississippi and made our home there for 28 years to bring up our kids.  We have a son 42, a daughter that is 40 and we have one grandchild a beautiful granddaughter 6 years old.  In 1998 we moved to Russellville, AR to be where both our children have lived for many years.  We now are blessed with living within minutes of the kids, which has been a life long dream.  We love it here it has everything, mountains, water, flat land or anything you can think of.  I belong to a number of webrings and enjoy them very much.  I call this computer my way to the outside world and do a lot of chatting and have grown to love my cyber friends as family. I have been adopted by two, as their grandmother, and four as their mother so they all watch me pretty close and make sure I am living right. Well, I have not made this very exciting, however my life has always been a pleasure and blessing to me.

Nancy

Hello my name is Nancy (aka TexasTornado).  I'm honored to be a co-leader of Sisters Of Compassion and am getting to know so many wonderful ladies. I am 52, a widow with 2 daughters, and 5 beautiful grandchildren.  I was born in Indiana and moved to Pennsylvania/New Jersey in my early teens where I eventually met and married my husband of 26 years.   In 1972, my husband moved the family to Texas and it has been home since then.  After 16 years of working in finance for a major corporation, I quit and became self-employed.

The things I enjoy most in life are, my family, gardening, cooking, music, any activity outdoors, traveling, computers, creating web pages, tinkering with graphics, dabbling with oil paints, chatting, helping people and making new friends.

Starr

I am happily married to a wonderful man, Pryce, who I love very much. I have two beautiful daughters, Jessie and Nicki, who keep me very busy every chance they get. Pets? Oh yes! Four cats (Cuddles, Ace, Gizmo and Koty), two ferrets (Foxx and Scully) and a puppy dog (Bella Rosa, a beautiful chow/shepherd mix) have free reign in our home, and they make our lives that much more fun.
I spend much of my free time as a volunteer in my church and community. I serve on several committees for the March of Dimes, and I am a Troop Leader for Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 136. Girl Scouting is a wonderful way to give girls confidence in themselves, so if you have the time to volunteer it's very rewarding!
My favorite group is the BeeGees... go ahead and laugh, everyone else does. I was raised on their music, and I'll always have a special place in my heart for their songs... especially the disco!  I also like classic rock and country, and I've been accused on more than one occasion of giving people "whiplash" from switching the radio stations from one to the other constantly.  My favorite TV Show is The X Files. I just love scary shows! I grew up watching all the old horror flicks, and now I just can't get enough of them. I've got my Mom to thank for that you see... she went into labor with me while she was at the drive-in watching "Night of the Living Dead" and refused to leave until the movie was over. So how could I have turned out any other way?
Well, that's about it really. I'm just a plain ol' country girl at heart; nothing fancy, nothing strange, just a fun-lovin' kinda gal.
