The Good Shepherd's Victory

The Good Shepherd searched
the valleys and the plains
He carried us through troubled times,
Torturous fears and tormenting pains.
The Good Shepherd climbed
the hills and the mountains...
Having descended from Heaven-
He met us all at our worldly fountains.
The Good Shepherd watched for dangers
and for wolves in sheep's clothing-
He overruled our own tendency to wander
and helped us conquer our own loathing.
The Good Shepherd opened
and closed all of the gates,
He took all of our evil on Himself
and with His love equates.
The Good Shepherd did weep-
Then gave His life for His sheep...
The Harvest was precious to reap-
even so the hill was steep...
The Good Shepherd did it all
at Calvary...
He counted as joy the tree,
and in so doing, He set us free...
