My Family:
I have 2 daughters who are both real beauties, inside and out. I'm very proud of both of them. My oldest is an EMT and is now testing her skills as a volunteer firefighter, while also working as an assistant to a group of doctors. The youngest is in Jr. College right now, works as a nanny, and changes her career plans too often for me keep up with. hehe
My husband was my high school sweetheart and has been a firefighter for over 20 years. I have great respect for the job he does there... the job demands bravery, patience and a desire to help people and during his career he's seen alot of things that weren't "pretty" and found himself in situations where he was terrified and has even lost friends in the line of duty. After all these years have gone by, he still goes to the fire station and risks his life in order to save someone elses and that makes him a true hero as far as I'm concerned! He now has a website of his own, thanks to his lovely wife (hey, that's ME)... hehe Visit it to read some good firefighter jokes and whatever else we think may be interesting to anyone but us ! haha To Firedude's Pages !
Me:
I am from, what WAS a small town in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, as I was growing up. Garland, Texas is now one of the largest cities in Texas. I graduated from South Garland High School... I won't say when ! (I'm in denial... hehehe), moved to the "big" city of Dallas for a few years and then we bought a house in Garland and I came back "home" several years ago. My girls both graduated from a Garland school, also.... though they chose NOT to go to the BEST one, South Garland. hehe I'm now a "domestic goddess" and spend alot of my time using my computer (it's addictive) ! I enjoy music, reading (I go through phases), fishing, friends, family and my new-found love, Paint Shop Pro. Music will always be one of my main interests though. Hmmm, that's enough, huh ?? hehe
Texas:
There's alot of myths about Texas that I grew up hearing. One is that we Texans all wear boots and cowboy hats. Well, to be honest, I don't think I've ever met a TRUE cowboy in my life. When I hear the word cowboy I think of a guy riding the range on his best horse, rustling cattle, farming, etc. I know people who think they're cowboys just because they listen to country music, drive a truck, wear boots, etc. NOT! Of course Texas is a HUGE state & has loads of people of every variety so maybe I just don't live in the part of Texas where all the real cowboys live. The closest I've ever come to a cowboy are the "Dallas Cowboys" but that's a whole other story, huh ?!? Texas... a great place to live or visit !! Follow the Texas links on my links page for probably more stuff than you'd ever wanna know about Texas.
