Are you a Scouting Website in GeoCities' and interested in joining this webring?  Contact RingMaster.

The Yosemite neighborhood would like to recognize all the dedicated Scouting children and adults within any GeoCities neighborhood.  Numerous sites depict a wide range of outdoor activites these members are involved in:  day-hikes, tent camping, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, wilderness survival and so on.

In an effort to allow visitors within our GeoCities community explore these webpages, we have developed a webring called "Yosemite's Scouting Jamboree."  Anyone familiar with Scouting should recognize the term "jamboree" (#see bottom of this page).  But for those who are not, basically, it's a gathering which brings together Scouts of all age levels and adult Scouting volunteers, both nationally and internationally, for a very unique experience.  It's a celebration of what our youth can achieve within the Scouting organization, and beyond.  Suffice to say, there are many, many famous people who spent their youth as members of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Therefore, the purpose and intent of forming the "Yosemite's Scouting Jamboree" webring is a celebration, a coming together, for fun, to receive tips, to view pictures of outdoor activities, and to share in the joy of a youngster accomplishing what may have seemed to be impossible.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN "YOSEMITE'S SCOUTING JAMBOREE" WEBRING?

(1) All sites must reside within GeoCities.
(2) All sites must adhere to GeoCities Page Content Guidelines--no exceptions!
(3) The general theme for your entire site should fit your neighborhood topic/theme.
(4) Submission can be a page on a specific topic, or the entire site.
(5) Page or site should have all graphics and links in "working order." (AOL members:  please go here for additional and specific information)
(6) Page or site should have content other than just graphics or links to other Scouting sites--tell the visitor about what your group is doing, events, training information, badge work, etc.
(7) The page visitors enter via the webring should be about Scouting -- either your site index to select Scouting topics, or an actual topic page.
(8) Your page/site should be easy for the visitor to view; i.e., make sure that your background doesn't overpower the text so that visitors can easily read the information you have presented.
(9) We would like to see all entrance pages displaying GeoCities GeoGuide (this is not required, but will definitely add to the ease of visitors linking from your site to the next site).
(10) Once accepted for consideration to the webring, follow the instructions in a timely fashion (within 7 days) to be added to the webring. The webring will automatically delete sites not added to the ring after about two weeks!
(11) Any site, after being accepted and added to the webring, shall be removed for not following GeoCities guidelines (that is, has offensive/illegal content, etc.). Remember: children are more than likely going to be visiting your site, so it should have content appropriate for their viewing!!
(12) Your page/site should demonstrate or depict the Law, Motto and/or Slogan for the organization you're a part of.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: One last comment........please review your page/site in both Microsoft Internet Explorer AND Netscape!!!  Your graphics may appear correctly in one browser while appearing "broken" in the other browser.  This is the most common reason for sites not being immediately added to the ring when the RingMaster does a final review of each site.

With great appreciation for your time and dedication to our youth,
we thank you in advance.  Without your assistance, the enjoyment and

#jamboree:  Webster's definition:  a noisy or unrestrained carouse, a large festive gathering, a long mixed program of entertainment......think you get the idea of the "jamboree" feeling we want to capture with this webring!
