Review:
Sam Raimi's (Simple Plan) Evil Dead
II has become a cult favorite among many people. The violence in
Evil Dead II is extreme in both its gruesome detail and its sheer
volume. Heads are knocked off with shovels, hands are sawed off with
chainsaws, headless corpses run around, yet...all of it is filmed in
a cartoon-like manner which creates a surreal quality. The whole film
is an assault on the senses that it also very, very funny. Bruce Campbell
(Ash) is an incredible physical actor and really doesn't need any dialogue
to be engrossing. With bizarre camera angles and twisted humor this
truly is an outrageous and daring film and ranks as one of my favorite
