Interviews with
Robin's Co-stars
Winter 2001

Linda writes: "Can you believe that "Skye Chandler" turned out to be "Rae's" daughter.

For the Another World fans, you know that Robin played "Felicia's" daughter, "Lorna."  The two of us are thrilled that ABC is letting us do it again.  You can count on some real fireworks as this story creates havoc with several characters on One Life to Live, All My Children and General Hospital.

I love Robin (and her adorable husband, Matt Crane) and really love her work so this should be a story that was well worth the wait.

History has a funny way of repeating itself.  Just ask John Boger (John).  "The first time I met Robin Christopher (Skye) and Linda Dano (Rae) was on ANOTHER WORLD," says the actor.  "And the great thing is, by force of fate, or serendipity or however you want to describe it, we find ourselves working together again."  On AW, Bolger played a police captain (sound familiar?) romantically linked with Christopher's character, Lorna, whose mother, Felicia, was played by Dano.  Now, albeit on another show and network, the trio again are sharing scenes.  "It's the same thing," he marvels.  "It doesn't matter what show you're on.  When you work with good people and you have the great fortune to work with any of them down the road, whether it's on a soap or a film or a play, it is just wonderful to be with them again."

"Robin and Linda are brilliant," says Bolger of his two-time co-stars.

Q&A with Billy Warlock (AJ, GH) (link)

TV Guide: "A.J. has a new supporter in his half-sister Skye. It's about time A.J. had someone in his corner."

Billy:  "It's great. A.J. and Skye are definitely allies. I love Robin [Christopher, who plays Skye]. I love working with her. Robin is so unlike Skye. I knew who she was when I heard she was coming to the show. I'd watched her work and always liked it. I didn't know her, though, and I wondered if she was like her character, just as I'm sure some people wonder if I'm really like A.J. She is such the opposite of Skye. She's down to earth, unaffected and normal. She's very cool. I like her."
Soap Opera Digest - October 2, 2001 Issue, page 85 - "Soap Dish: General Hospital"

When asked who the most reliable cast member was, John Ingle [Edward] answered, "Robin Christopher.  She's low-key and always prepared."

Stuart Damon happy to play dad to devious Skye

There is no bigger fan of the work of Robin Christopher, who plays Skye on GH, than Stuart Damon, who plays her TV dad, Alan Quartermaine.  "Robin fills a void in the Quartermaine family that's been there since Jane Eliot (Tracy) left," Damon notes.

"And she also comes with the professionalism to stand toe-to-toe with the Quartermaines.  She did that from the instant she walked on the stage.  That's not an easy thing to do, because we're a close-knit, insane family, both on and off screen.  We have strong, diverse personalities.  She walked in as cool as a cucumber and just did her stuff."

When Damon learned that he was going to be Skye's long-lost father in the storyline that spanned three soaps,
General Hospital, One Life to Live, and All My Children, he was "thrilled to bits," enthuses the actor.  "It meant one more person on the show that I could have a relationship with.  The other thing was, I didn't have to worry about someone new coming in.  I knew that Robin was nothing but positive.  I couldn't wait for her to get here."  Damon started watching One Life to Live while Christopher was still airing to get a feel for her work.

"I just loved how devious and secure Skye is.  The facade of this ill-tempered, evil person is great, because it's so layered.  Underneath is this totally vulnerable human being who's been kicked around from the time that she (was born)," says Damon, who couldn't wait for Christopher's character to arrive in Port Charles.  "The only thing that would have been better is if I had gone back to Llanview for a little visit first.  I'd have loved to do that.  It would have been great and a lot of fun."

Q:  Amber, did you like working with Robin Christopher? Is she fun and is she anything like Skye? I loved the scenes you two shared!! - Mel

A:  robin is a wonderful woman. Honestly, never has someone fit in so quickly with the Q family on screen, and the actors off screen. I felt like I had been working with her for years, seriously. She's extremely beautiful too. - A

GH's Billy Warlock (A.J.) pays homage to some of A.J.'s best zingers on the actor's website,
www.billywarlock.com.  As A.J., the Emmy-winning star gets to shoot some of the best one-liners to his family, friends and foes on GH.  "I do get to say some great stuff," says Warlock.  "Not to take any credit away from the writers, but it's a collaborative effort.  They really let me do my thing; that's one thing that I'm so grateful to the new regime for.  I met Megan (McTavish, GH's top scribe) for a brief moment.  I don't know her very well, but I do appreciate that she allows me to do that.  I'm having a good time.  And I love working with Robin (Christopher, Skye)."

Q: Just wanted to drop you a note saying how much I am loving the scenes with Skye on GH. You are doing a wonderful job! I was wondering when Lifetime Now will start up again? Have a VERY happy birthday. ~ Pamela

A: Oh you guys, you're all so nice!

Obviously, I am crazy about Robin Christopher. Many of you know that Robin played my daughter on AW, and it was such a gift when they made Robin Rae's long-lost daughter. We have a special friendship that began the moment I met her, and has continued, and probably will go on, until I am long gone. She is a wonderful, wonderful actress. And an even nicer human being. So when scenes are written, they feel to both of us so real, so intimate, and so easy to do. That's one of the key reasons, besides Stuart Damon, that I love going to GH.

Now if I could only kiss Sonny, my life would be complete!

By Kristin Gallagher

7th Signs: Judging by how many people she already knew in her first days on-set, you might've thought Willis was an old hat at GH.  "I knew Robin [Christopher, Skye] from her husband, Matt [Crane, ex-Matt, AW], because he played my uncle," she relates.  "And one of the hairdressers here, Kit, did 7TH HEAVEN with me when I was like, 16.  So, I've known her for years.  And, of course, Nancy [Lee Grahn, Alexis] was the principal [on 7TH HEAVEN] who got my character in trouble, so I’m a little upset with her about that [laughs].  No, it's great in this business to see familiar faces, because it sets you at ease a little bit.  Robin and Nancy are so nice; two great ladies.  They've been very cool to me."
