SHINKIDOSENKI GUNDAM WING Memorials II ~The Legend of Forever~
Publisher: Sunrise (Japanese) Sep 1998
ISBN:4-89601-393-X
Price: 2190 yen.

I strongly recommend "The Legend of Forever' (96 pages)to serious Gundam Wing fans because this is a real gem. It has terrific pictures, some not easily available on the internet. It has an 'Endless Waltz Illustrations Gallery' featuring mobile suits & cool group shots, an 'Operation Meteor Illustrations Gallery' which includes individual shots of Heero, Duo, Trowa, Quatre and Wufei posing with their own mecha and a kawaii section on 'Super Deformation' of the cast in 7 different poses. Also contains a brief history of the colony, a description of the OVA plus movie and an illustration data. Bonus: a smashing cover.

The New Mobile History Gundam Wing Perfect Album
Publisher:Kodansha (Japanese) Apr 1996
ISBN:4-06-103300-X
Price: 890 yen

This portable handbook (96 pages) provides fans with an understanding to the anime storyline. The mobile suits and main cast are described in both color and black & white versions. There is an episode guide on the 49-part anime series, a collage poster formed by cels and a small Koichi Tokita (creator of Gundam manga) gallery. 'Perfect Album' is good for its comprehensive description of the 5 Gundam boys with their signature poses and famous super deformation. The mobile suits are the best covered by the book as it also features the less popular mecha. The 'Original Mobile Suit Variation' section will please fans of these terrific tatakai titans.

The New Mobile History Gundam Wing Postcard Book

Carries shots of Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Raberba Winner, Chang Wufei, Relena Peacecraft, Zechs Merquise, Treize Khush Renada, other supporting cast and the Gundam MS. Most of the pictures can be found in either 'Shinkidosenki Gundam Wing Memorials ~ Final Wing 195' or 'Shinkidosenki Gundam Wing Memorials II ~ 'The Legend of Forever'.

A decent alternative for fans who want a less pricey illustration collection. You can also use the cards to promote Gundam Wing to the world!

Endless Waltz ~ Video CD / Video
(Released in 1997)

The hugely popular, 49-part TV anime series, 'Shin Kidosenki Gundam Wing' inspired the sequel, 'Endless Waltz'. Released by OVA (Original Video Animation), it comes in three parts- '01 "The Silent Orbit"', '02 "Operation Meteor"', and '03 "Return To Forever"'. In 'Endless Waltz', apart from the pulse-stopping battles, the beliefs underpinning the main characters are given more meat. We see the circumstances that convinced them to shoulder the responsibilty of bringing peace to Mankind while others (like Treize Khush Renada) choose to dedicate their lives to war. A thin line is drawn between 'justice' and 'aggression'. There is also a track, 'White Reflection' by Two-Mix. Fans may feel a sense of loss towards the end as the MS suits and their famous pilots are said to have evaporated after the finale. They have become 'history', so as to speak. A movie edition of 'Endless Waltz' is released in 1998 containing snippets not found in the OVA. Just what Gundam W fans need.

Gundam Wing Operation 4 ~ Compact Disc

There are 10 tracks on this album, all sung by the voice talents. Five are highly listenable: 'Ore dake no kotoba de' (This is my language) by Heero, 'Wild Wing' by Duo, 'Hoshi no manazashi' (The look in the star's eyes) by Quatre, "Ai wa ryuusei' (Love is a shooting star) by Trowa and the second TV opening theme 'Rhythm Emotion' by Two-Mix. There is a balanced mix of ballads and fast numbers and I must say the vocal efforts are surprisingly competent. I particularly like 'Wild Wing' as the rendition sets the mood for the battles and echoes the mind of youthful souls seeking to break out of emotional restraint.

Gundam Model by TOMO

The Gundam craze has churned out many mobile suits. One such series is inspired by 'Endless Waltz', all requiring some painting and spraying. The more 'exotic' and 'colorful' models, like the half-torso model of the Gundam cast (right) are owned only by real die-hard fans who not only possess the luck but the necessary okane ($). For the rest of us Gundam W fans, it will suffice just to have a look at it. This model is released at a limited edition in Japan. Quite a difference from the usual way they look, wouldn't you say?
