This just came down the line from AP-South Dakota:
(Rapid City, South Dakota-AP) -- The former editor and publisher of
Indian Country Today is launching a weekly newspaper for South Dakota's
nine
American Indian Reservations.
Tim Giago (gy-AY'-goh) says he missed being part
of the happenings in
Lakota Country.
He sold Indian Country Today in 1998 and has been
finishing a book and
writing a weekly column.
Giago says there are a lot of good stories on the
reservations and in
the cities that aren't being told.
He says that besides South Dakota, the new paper
will include news from
the bordering states of Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska and North Dakota.
