Subject: Hayden Warrior Springs

This is a word for word copy of a recent mailing I got in the attempts
to build a water treatment facility in the area and taking over our
Serpent Springs. The land is sacred and shouldn't be desecrated.
I also have many pictures of this area, in which I am working now on
scanning and forwarding to everyone. If anyone also has means to find
the Country Roads Chronicles, there is an article in October 1999 issue,
I too have that copy and will attempt to pass it along
Hoping we can build the circle we need to keep our springs untouched
And I know there are those who could care less....but an attempt to NOT
try and save is an attempt wrongfully ignored

"Here is the material on the Sacred Warren Spring site, to inform you
and others of what it's about and what's being done to it.  There has
been approximately 50 articles since 1993 on it and Weldon Carter, the
real estate agent that's moved up here, wanting to tie water likes from
his area 20-25 miles southwest to the Hayden Warrior area to make his
real estate holdings go up and to make money off the gallons of water
flow.

Blountsville County (Alabama) offered to sell them all the water they
needed, but they didn't want Blountsville to infringe on the agenda.
There is a state section (article 106) about affecting sacred and or
historical areas.  But "ADEM" has a loophole around that, in some way.
Nothing to the public has been brought up of it being a sacred native
water site, yet it's going to take Federal native people to have an
impact.
Hopefully we can keep them from getting federal and maybe state funds
for the 2 million gallons etc.

I've sent this to you and other people, but if you havent been there
before, it would merely appear to be a little hole or stream of water,
and you may not have much passion for it.
Everyone "passes the buck" onto the next one I've been told to contact.
It's a tragedy to let this place go down without at least a fight, and
as it's known as a Native  Holy place, word has also been sent to Robert
Ghost Wolf, he can possibly be contacted via the net at
http://www.wolflodge.org/wolflodge/wolflodge.htm
I appreciate the help that anyone can offer,as I will be readily
available to meet up with you and discuss possiblities to handle our
situation
In the saving of Native Spiritual Renewal areas I thank you all."
