Porphyria
Porphyria is a rare hereditary blood disease characterized by the inability of the blood to produce heme, a compound of hemoglobin, which is a major component in new blood. Today there are effective treatments for porphyria. Without treatment, the porphyria sufferer must endure conditions such as extreme sensitivity to sunlight, excessive hairiness, skin sores, disfigurement, and unbarable abdominal pain. In severe cases fingers and nose sometimes fall off. The skin of the gums and lips tighten and stretch, causing the teeth to appear very prominent and fang like. And a chemical in garlic can worsen the painful effects of porphyria.

It is consceivable that a porphryria sufferer might attempt to obtain the new heme his/her body needs by drinking the blood of others. However porphyria victims dont get a craving for blood. But if they do drink the blood of others, the chemicals porphyria victims need in blood do not survive digestion.

To many a porphyria sufferer might look like a vampire. They would probobly be very pale because the porphyria sufferer is sensitive to sunlight so they would probobly be wrapped up when they go out at day. Or in extreme cases of porphyria, the sufferer may be forced to only go out at night because the effects of the sun on them are to great. They have what appears to be fangs because of the skin of the gums and lips tighten. And some people with the disease cant eat garlic. But a porphyria victim dosent crave blood and if they do drink blood, it wont help them. So its safe to say porphyria victims arent vampires. But many could be mistaken as vampires.
