Many say that Shakespeare simply just rewrote the older play just so he could make a couple bucks. I, however; believe otherwise. I personally believe that Will loved the older tale so much that he wanted to pay tribute to it by writing a more modern version. My point is further proven in another one of Shakespeare's plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream. In this play, Shakespeare once again integrates the story of Pyramis and Thisby into his story.
