Here are some of my HPC Windows CE softwares, which I've collected over the years. Some will work on both the CE1.0 & 2.0 devices. Some are only for that particular platform. Its been awhile since I had them. So I'm not sure some are for which platform. You have to try it for yourselves. Some are very useful and I still make use of them on the HPC, while the poorer ones I have removed from my HPC. You will have try them out to see which ones are useful to you. If you still owned a functional HPC device, kudos to you for keeping it in working order for so long!

Apps

BigClock is a process that shows the time in big digits on your palmsize Windows CE 2 machine. At present only MIPS PPCs are supported. BigClock also allows you to set alarms via a dialog that is more friendly than the World Clock on the PPC.

D Utilities [sh3/mips] 129kb

• D sounds = This simply adds a volume/mute control to your system tray.
• D top = This program adds the ability to create a startup menu of all your useful programs and adding a quick select icon to your system tray.
• DTop2 v1.31 = Windows CE 2.0-enhanced version of DTop. It now supports color and has a much sleeker interface.
• DUtilities Beta Two = This neat utility pack comes with a keyboard "hard icon" mapper, a memory checker, a startup manager, and a sound utililty, all optimized for CE 2.0 and full-color.

SoundWidget allows you to adjust your sound volume by clicking on the tray speaker icon. The major difference between this application and others that are available is that this one allows much greater control over the volume (not just five settings like the internal WindowsCE sound applet).

Ruksun LaunchForce is a tray icon utility, and you can configure it to store as many as 10 frequently used applications of your choice. On tapping the tray icon, a pane appears with the respective icons of these 10 applications. Tapping on any of these icons launches that application. What's more, you can configure hot keys to each application, virtually eliminating the need for additional taps to launch those applications.

PocketC is a development tool for handheld devices. You can develop software on the device directly without using desktop. The source code is compiled into bytecode which is CPU independent, and can be run on all WinCE devices with the runtime module.

In the early '80s, Nintendo released a series of LCD games called Game & Watch. We used to play them when we were young. Pheeraphat Sawangphian decided to make them come up on the Windows desktop and started the Game & Watch Simulator project. After that, Nantawat Eamchareon created two of them for Windows 95/98 as well as ported them to Windows CE operating system (H/PC platform) which enable us to carry it everywhere we want like the real machine from the past.
