When The Saints Go Marching In
Author of this variation is unknown but the original version is at the bottom of this page.
I actually like this version better. That's why I've decided to place it at the top.
(Sorry Jo. Still..your poem obviously inspires people..so, it's all good.) ;)
Surprise In Heaven

I dreamed death came the other night.
And heavens gate swung wide.
An angel with a halo bright
Ushered me inside.
And there to my astonishment
Stood folks I'd judged and labeled
As quite unfit...Of little worth...
And spiritually disabled.
Indignant words rose to my lips
But never were set free.
For every face showed stunned surprise
Not one expected ME
!
Original Version
I'd like to thank Michael Linnard for pointing me in the direction of the original version..
..so.. "Thank you Michael." ;)
Judge Not
by Joe Emefo
I dreamed death came the other night
And heavens gate swung wide.
With kindly grace,
An angel ushered me inside.
And there to my astonishment
Stood folks I'd known on earth
Some I'd judged and labeled
As unfit, or of little worth---
Indignant words rose to my lips
But never were set free.
For on every face showed stunned surprise---
No one had expected ME!
