Bright Eyes
When I was but a little chap
My Mammy said to me,
"When you grow up, my darling pup,
What would you like to be."
"Oh, Mammy dear," I said to her,
"I saw a dog today,
Whose job was just the very thing,
I'd like in every way."
"He walks beside a lady,
Who's eyes are void of light.
He leads her safely everywhere,
He is her guide, her sight."
Now here I am dear people,
Prepared and trained and fit.
Come open wide your heart and hand,
And help me do my bit.
