Whoa, somebody’s bored.

PEN NAME
Aerika S.

HMM, THAT NAME SOUNDS FAMILIAR...
Probably not, since I'm a bit of an internet hermit, but I can be found around:
Fanfiction.net
Livejournal

REAL NAME
Not Aerika.  It does start with an 'A' and the ‘S’ does stand for my last name though.

AGE
Spiritually, still in my early twenties.  Physically, a teensy bit older.

GENERAL LOCATION
In the woods of Western Maryland.

GENERAL BIOGRAPHY
Fan fiction writer, maintainer of amateurish web shrines to Escaflowne characters, office manager (boo! to grown-up jobs!) and former English major who actually misses writing all those essays.

GENERAL INTERESTS

ANIME/MANGA
Escaflowne -- Not just my favorite anime but quite possibly my most favorite thing to ever appear on my TV screen.

Fruits Basket -- A really sweet series in both anime and manga form that has a lot to say about the connections we form with other people.  And it's got Shigure, Hatori and Ayame.

Full Metal Alchemist -- One of the few series that I think was worthy of most of the hype.

Yuugiou -- Still like the manga even if the anime series tanked after Battle City.

BOOKS
Michael Chabon -- God of authors, my idol.  Go read ‘The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay’, NOW!!

Terry Prathcett -- The best satirist I’ve ever read.  ‘Small Gods’ is a brilliant book that pretty much summarizes my own views on religion.

Other favorites include Zadie Smith, Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood, Chang-Rae Lee, Richard Russo, etc, etc, etc.  I read.  A lot.

VIDEO GAMES
I am a great big Squaresoft whore.  Final Fantasy rules all.  If I could only play two videogames for the rest of my life, FFVII and Tactics would get the nod.  Deeply love VIII and X too.  And Sephiroth is the god of polygonal men.  That is all.

TELEVISION
Ecclectic mix of The Daily Show, Scrubs, The Office, Mythbusters and Lost.

COMICS
I stopped reading about years ago, but I’ll always have a soft spot for Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, just about anything written by Alan Moore, the X-Men (particularly Peter David’s run on X-Factor) and Astro City.

MUSIC
Mainstream stuff -- U2, REM’s older stuff, Sarah McLachlan

Video game and anime stuff -- Yoko Kanno (Escaflowne, Macross Plus), Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears and Chrono Cross), Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy)
