Tourney Rules |
1. No Undo use. In a regular game the undo is ok, but in a tourney match, it could be seen as "Pasive Scouting." 2. No cheating. Win or lose with honor, and luck. Never forget luck. 3. No Passive Scouting. Passive Scouting is a cheat, enough said. 4. No Red Hexing. Another cheat, enough said. 5. Don't use the Labels cheat. It's not a big cheat, but a cheat is a cheat, enough said. 6. The infamous Rout Rule. Almost everyone has a slightly different version of it. Here's mine: A. Always ask before hitting a routed unit. This way both players know why it is getting hit. B. Only hit a routed unit if it is occupying a flag, or other strategic location, like the only bridge for you to escape from the enemy, or get to the enemy. C. If you can avoid hitting the unit for one turn, do so. The unit may retreat and not make you take the chance of crashing the game. D. If you can capture the unit, do so if you wish, but before hitting it to capture it, follow rule 6.A. E. Like most people I sometimes get caught up in battling so much that I surround a rounted unit and capture it before thinking. And I always think about the fact it is a routed unit one second after I click to attack and capture it. In an event like this, you should ask your opponent what they want to do before proceding. In the unlikely event that they would not allow you to capture the unit, they may want to restart that turn. But usually they won't mind too much and will say to continue on. It is much easier to ask and possibly appoligize than to act like nothing happened and have your opponent think you didn't care, and report it to the tourney directors. 7. Anything else you wish to not use in the match should be agreed upon by both players before the match begins. 8. What is allowed: A. Check stats on your opponent's men. Right click on an enemy unit you CAN see. B. Using indirect fire to try to hit units that you can't see, but think you know where they are. C. Anything you and your opponent agree upon before starting the battle. Incuding stuff not normally allowed, like passive scouting. Just be sure both of you are playing by the exact same set of rules. 9. Since CWG 2 seems to be a little more stable by chatting, do so at the end of each turn. It doesn't take too long to to type "to you" and "k" each time. 10. Save each turn by a different name. For example, type part of your opponent's name and a number, and N or S to designate which side is who. My opponent might put aero1S for first turn, aero2S for second turn and so on. The rules about passive scouting, red hexing and using the labels cheats are all explained in much more detail on my honorable battle tactics for regular play (non-tourney) If you are unclear on what some of the rules above refer to, look on my honorable battle tactics page and/or ask some regular players on WON. |
