| 1979: Bad clothes, bad music, great football As Joe Montana's career was getting started and disco was (thankfully) winding down, the NFL enjoyed one of its most exciting seasons in 1979. Among the highlights: Dallas quarterback Roger Staubach ended a brilliant career, San Diego gunslinger Dan Fouts threw for a record 4,082 yards, the formerly sad-sack Tampa Bay Buccaneers advanced to the NFC championship game, and the Pittsburgh Steelers put the finishing touches on their dynasty with a fourth Super Bowl triumph. I'd like to get every non-edited huddles game in circulation from 1979, for two reasons. First, I was 8 then, and that was the age I really began to watch and follow the NFL and sports in general. Many of the games I've traded for, I remember watching as a kid. Second, that seems to be the first year that a lot of regular-season games (and all playoff games) are available.
