Drive

(Written about the many drives my girlfriend, Joanne and I go on)

On the drive, I hear her hopes and dreams
And I wonder how much of those I can bring about for her?
And we speak of things in the past, and we speak of things for the future.
And I sit and drive....wondering if this really is forever.

On the drive, I hear her disappointments and her anguish.
And I wonder how much of those can I take away for her?
And we speak of things in the past, and we speak of the things for the future.
And I sit and drive....wondering if this is really forever.

On the drive, I hear love and excitement.
And I wonder how much of this have I brought to her?
And we speak of things in the past, and we speak of things for the future.
And I sit and drive....wondering if this is really forever.

And my foot continues to rest on the pedal taking us on this drive and she turns,
and looks at me with glossy eyes that speaks the world to me.
And she whispers those three words out of no where that tells me how
I know things will always be.

And I sit and drive....knowing....finally, I've found forever!!
