Geography
Afghanistan has an interesting geography. Afghanistan has a mountian range called Hindu Kush which is part of a chain with the Himalayas. Afghanistan is also home to a tall mountain in the central mountians called Hari Rud. Hari Rud follows west for 400 miles across Afghanistan.
Afghanistan also has a river called the Kabul River. The Kabul River rises in the high mountians in central Afghanistan and flows for 380 miles. Then it joins the Indus River.
Some major cities in Afghanistan are Kabul, Herat, and Jalalabad. Kabul is Afghanistans capital. The city of Herat got it's interesting name from the mountain Hari Rud.
Afghanistan's climate is arid and dry to semiarid. Afghanistan has cold winters and hot summers. There is a very desert climat.
