Should you go to Afghanistan?
Definitely not. There are no two ways about it. The world is a big place and there are plenty of wonderful countries to visit where you can experience fantastic historical treasures, natural beauty, and foreign cultures. Afghanistan is a country filled with landmines, poor roads, inadequate health service, undisciplined armed forces, and general lawlessness.
So why do you have this page?
It's my firm hope that change will come quickly to the wonderful people of Afghanistan and conditions will improve enough so that foreigners who wish to see this amazing country will be able to do so. This isn't the case at the present time but the air is filled with hope in the cities of Afghanistan after so many years of turmoil and bloodshed. The information provided within this page is from my own journey in 2002 after the fall of the Taliban.
