1SG Acy Oliver Delaughter, Jr. US Army
He was born July 3, 1929, to Acy Delaughter Sr. and Eunice Lavine in Ponchatoula, La. He grew up and attended school in Ponchatula. He married Rachel Bath in Loveland on Nov. 6, 1949. She preceded him in death in 2001. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1944. He served in the military for 30 years, which took his family throughout the country. He retired as a First Sergeant in 1973 and returned to live in Loveland. Delaughter was administrative NCO with AFVN - the American Forces Vietnam Network - in 1970 and 1971. AFVN military radio and television provided music, news and sports to American troops during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his son, Terry Delaughter of Spokane, Wash.; a daughter,
